      May I humbly request a video?
      Could you please discuss different AVAILABLE handpieces?
      I am following closely your e-file series, because I have fibromyalgia.
      I am highly interested in the available options for handpieces & what to be on the lookout for.
      Thanks in advance!

      @@sailiante its so hard to choose isn't it? I bought a cheap purple one for £ 20 and its still going strong from Amazon. I only do my nails as a hobby but its hard to choose without wasting money. Just remember when buying rpm is speed,torque is power.

    I am so thankful for your channel seriously!
    I started nail tech school last month and we just went over the chapter on e filing and that’s all we did. We don’t actually get taught how to use one and for me I can’t just read something, I need it shown and explained and hopefully experience myself. So thank you for making these videos!!!

    I've been doing my own nails at home for years now but since the pandemic I got into polygel. I thought I would never use an e-file but the more I progress to new things the more I want to learn. I bought a really basic cheap e-file to learn with and have just now upgraded it which leads to upgrading nail bits as well. I've binged your e-file series today and have learned an amazing wealth of knowledge such that now I will be more secure in my filing. Thank you so much for sharing what you know and not hoarding your secrets. There are a lot of pros out there as well as diy'ers and I love when professionals recognize that some people just want to learn how to better their skills for themselves. Thanks again 💜

    Ahhh! Monday is fast becoming my favorite day of the week. You answer questions I didn’t even know I had, and I’m so grateful! Since I only do my own nails, and am still learning , I got a cheap file to start with. I can see I’ll need to get a better one soon, and will be watching to see what you say before moving on. It’s been OK to learn with, but I have done some damage too. Less damage now than in the beginning, but I do now think a better drill would help minimize the risk. *This is a professional powerful and essential tool when creating your acrylic or gel nail in a salon or at home. It has 6 different nail drills you easily can apply when doing your Mani or Pedi. I didn't feel like I was going to hurt myself or my cuticle while getting close to skin. I loved the color of the drill and the machine. I also saved money with purchasing this machine because the attachments and accessories were already included. I gave this Electric nail drill a 5 star because of the final results of my acrylic full set I applied and sculpted myself. Very satisfied.*

    This is great info. My husband asked me about the torque but you are right, no one bothers to list that info. I paid $400+ for my e-file as a non pro. I wish I knew this info prior to purchasing. It probably wouldn’t matter as you can only buy so many e-files without a license. I like the info about the maintenance of the machine. Who knew how often to get it serviced. Excellent.

It makes so much sense. Also about turning off before reversing. Something that will preserve the motor. I have only used it to take off my acrylic one time. Thank goodness. This video is so helpful on how to maintain my little investment. Thank you so much.

    Can you please explain the measurement of torque, what should I be looking for?

    • @TheNailHub
      @TheNailHub  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Torque is actually measured in "inch pounds" or "foot pounds" but I've never seen a manufacturer list this spec. Best way to know is to go with good recommendations and ask the manufacturer. If they don't have an answer on torque it means it probably doesn't have any.

    Hi Liz, first of all I have to say I'm so greatfull about what your mission, I've been watching and learning from you since I got my nail tehnician certificate.
    I'm based in UK, so I had 3 days training and I'm fully qualified nail tehnician 🙄 I can imagine what are you thinking about it, I'm not to impressed about myself too. So, I'm learning from you and few other great professionals here in TH-cam.
    I just wanted to tell you are amazing and I learned from you a lots, I'm not doing nails on paying costumers as I'm still practicing on my friends, family and my practice hand and after 2 months still not feeling confident.
    I have one question, I've been looking in to getting efile qualification as I do spent to much time on removing product, unfortunately I've been told to keep practicing hand file as courses are designed not for beginners 😪
    What is your opinion, Liz?
    Also I was advised to practice gel extensions on tips not forms, but I'm desperate to learn sculpting on forms, having lost of struggles, but with your brilliant videos I hope to get there eventually 😁
    Lots of love and positive vibes from Latvian living in UK 🤗😍

      Thank you for this wonderful video. It is so incredibly helpful and informative, just like all your videos. I started doing gel nails as a hobby earlier this year and bought a cheap E-file a few months back when it was on sale, but the handpiece is bulky and so heavy that I can't see myself using it. I thought to myself "how do people manage not hurting themselves with such a monstrous handpiece?" I do have hand problems (which is why I wanted to try an E-file in the first place, to reduce strain from filing) and weight is definitely an important factor for me. I was afraid to even try it out and it has been sitting in its box ever since.
      A couple of days ago I was looking for an efile with a smaller handpiece after I heard that there were very different ones, but I really have difficulty finding a good one here in Germany. The Erica MT-20 that you show in the video actually impressed me a lot. Not only is it slim and seems to be comfortable to handle, but it also looks nice and sturdy. The price seems reasonable for such a high quality product. Nice to know that the Erica E-files also come with an EU plug! The handpiece looks just like what I am looking for. I guess it is a bit too much money for me right now since it is still just a hobby, but it'll definitely be on my wishlist!

    In your video you mention Torque is the key to a good drill. But you didn’t mention how much torque. Is there a number on what’s a good torque #?
    As I researched for drills I do not see any torque info. How can I find a good drill if that info is not readily available? Any ideas you can share 😉

    I totally get what you’re saying about torque. However, what amount of torque is good to have? Is there a specific ratio between torque and rpm that must be met? How is it measured?

    Thank you , I have learned so much from you! Question, I ordered the IBX system and was wondering how often I can do treatments. Can I do it twice a week or once a week or once in two weeks? The instructions to it doesn't explain how often I can do treatments. Also, can I put new treatment over top a previous treatment or do I remove everything off my nails before a new treatment? Thanks!!

    • @TheNailHub
      @TheNailHub  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Candace, once every 2 weeks is great for IBX. You can do treatments after you remove everything (i.e. soaking off your gel polish) before you apply the next service. Or you can also apply IBX to just the regrowth area on the nail if you have artificial nails that you are backfilling.

    where was this video 2 yrs ago when I was desperately searching for these answers 😭 (and I consider myself pretty savvy with research, I need to know everything I can about something, especially if I'm going to invest a few hundred dollars in it). Considering how important torque is, I was extremely frustrated that you can rarely find torque specs when shopping for efiles, even on the manufacturer site. I think I got a good efile considering the info I wanted/needed was almost nonexistent, and courses dont give you much 🤷‍♀️ but now I'm second guessing it. It's the Medicool ManiPro 30k but theres these open grooves toward the butt of the hand piece and I feel like it's just collecting dust, why would they design it like that? Now I'm worried about it after watching this video. Is air in a can a really bad idea? If it's just short quick bursts, until I get it maintenanced? Can I cover them?🤔

  • @orianaveronica
    @orianaveronica 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Amazing video! I'm always watching them. I wanted to ask you If Erica's nail bits can be used with any other e-file or only Erica's e-file? Thanks for all your hard work. For example, I'm planning on buying the nail labo e-file and I don't know if those nail bits can be used with it. Also, are these e-files brands good for a constant salon use? (Urawa, SAEYANG or Nail Labo)

      Most nail drill bits are universal. 3/32 of an inch. If it is the same diameter you should be able to use it.

    Hey Liz, thank you so much for sharing all your amazing knowledge.
    Do you have any thoughts on combination e-file and dust collector? They have a few on Amazon, and I am wondering if it's too good to be true.

    • @TheNailHub
      @TheNailHub  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I prefer to keep them separate. The combo units tend to have a really bulky hand piece and if you really want a good unit then you have to buy a podiatry model which is usually upwards of $1,500. Also if one needs to be tuned up or repaired I only have to swap one not both.
