You are so welcome! I'm happy it helped you. Make sure not to press down too much. If you need to press down a little much, it means the bit is dull & you need a new one.
Aww! I'm so happy that it helped you. I'll be putting up an intermediate video showing other bits you can use that help get through a set a lot faster.! Keep on coming back!!
LMAOOO I love you and your energy!!! Mrs. Lumpy dumpty bumpy yep that's still me 🤣. Please make more videos on breaking down drill bits for us who still don't know what we are doing with them and still trying to figure them out!!! This video was amazing and by FAR the most helpful one I've seen 🙌🏼🙌🏼❤️❤️
Try the mandrel bit with the sanding band. You want to make sure the efile is on a very low speed, like 4-5,000 rpm. Go slow and don't press down too hard. You don't want to burn your nail. Make sure to run the efile only over the tip
@thenailauthority tysm! I have a question: I tried to do my nails and they looked horrible! Too much of the powder around the nail beds. How do I prevent that in the future?
Love this video especially since those are the bits I just ordered. I watched twice and still had a couple of questions. I will be using my e- file with gel manicures. Which bit should I use to make my natural nail gritty? Which bit should I use to help remove extra gel glue (the excess glue from my gel tips/covers)? PS... I LOVED "nail estate"... 😂
@@neryluzceballos4377 You can start very lightly with the cone bit. You can use the mandrel bit with a medium or 180 grit sanding band to remove the excess glue. Be careful and don't press too hard or you'll feel some real heat on the nail.
Thank you!!!!!!!! Unfortunately I finally found this video after doing a full set of “builder gel” nails and I used my cylinder bits so much to take down the shape and create a better structure that I think I wore one out already 😅😅😅. But so glad TH-cam finally recommended this ❤
I'm so glad I found your video explaining E file Bits. I'm learning to do my own nails and I bought an E File. Thank you so much for explaining each bit. Im getting a wee bit better. But I would like to ask how many Rpms should I use when backfilling with builder gel? Should I have it high or low ? Thank you.
When backfilling on the natural nail, I don't exceed 5,000 rpm. If it's on the acrylic, hard gel, biab, or polygel, I won't go higher than 13,000 rpm's. Now, if you're using the sanding band, it's going to heat up so be careful that you aren't pressing down too hard. Hope this helps. Just take your time.
Thank you, great video! Only one I've seen that suggests seasoning or smoothing the bits, which is so useful! What about the other bits that come with the file? Mine has a disc and several white bits which I think are carbide?
Thank you, but you've misunderstood my question. It was about the other bits that come in the pack with the e file - do you explain those anywhere? Do you have another video? @@thenailauthority
@@ellincoetzee8900 Can you send me a pic of the bits you're referring to on IG? It's thenailauthority_ If I don't have a video, I'll make a quick one for you.
Thank you so much for this!! Question- I just got my first e-file for use at home to do gel manicures. I usually just use builder gel on my natural nails, and keep my toes manicured with no polish. It seems like your tips were focused more on acrylics. Any tips on which tips to use when I’m working to prep my natural nails for gel?
I use the same prep for hard gel, acrylics, or gel polish. It's different for regular polish. I use the same prep because the first 3 like to stick to a more textured surface. For regular polish, i cleanse the nail, lightly remove the shine. Cleanse with alcohol again. Let dry. Base coat, let dry. Polish. Let dry. To coat. You can use a gel top coat that cures in a lamp if you let it get super dry. I'm talking dry for at least 30 mins
I heard you say forward motion when you are right hand working on your left hand. But if you use your left hand and working on your right, do you switch it to reverse motion and then go from right side of nail to left? Sorry. Im very new to this. Hope im making sense
Thank you so much! This is very informative 😊 quick question: you mentioned you have a Saeyang K38. I’m having trouble figuring out where that could be purchased, I couldn’t find any retailers online that mail it ti the US. Thank you again!
@@AshleighJane-nd2qx Seriously! If we were kinder to each other. Or, at least remembered what it was like to start brand new, maybe we wouldn't have so many miserable Mary's out here trying to brow beat everybody.
Thank you so very much I'm a beginner at doing my nails I have been using the polygel and I ordered the starter kit and I am so trying to figure out how to get the thickness right and how to get that nice natural look around the cuticle when it comes to doing polygel or acrylic
What do you mean by shaping? Do you mean bringing in the side walls or up under the free edge? If so, the Mandrel bit plus sanding band would work great. To get a crisp square, coffin, stiletto, or almond shape, you need to use a 150 grit hand file
I know this is an older video but just wanted to say I love your personality! You seem like a lot of fun! And thank you so so much for this video!! I love your videos! Your personality is amazing ❤️. Please show us how you support the pinky nails while filing on yourself (the support of my pinkies while filing is a problem for me). Thank you 🙏🌹
It should be in forward if you are filing from right side of the nail around to the left. If you start from the left side of the nail(think about if you are looking at your nail and it's pointed down towards your palm), then file in reverse. Let me know if that helps

You're welcome. Glad I could help you
Now we just need to figure out the easiest way for using for the non-dominant hand and the dominant hand's nails.
Thank you first video I watched and I made it through the whole thing !!!!!😁 you are very helpful
So glad I could help. Thank you for watching!!
Thank you for your fast & friendly tips! 👏💕
You are very welcome!
thank you so much this video is crazy helpful! I adore you and your energy, thank you for making nail newbies feel welcome 😂 xxx
You're welcome! I appreciate you watching!!
Thank you!!!!!!!! Unfortunately I finally found this video after doing a full set of “builder gel” nails and I used my cylinder bits so much to take down the shape and create a better structure that I think I wore one out already 😅😅😅. But so glad TH-cam finally recommended this ❤
You are very welcome. I wish somebody would have told me this nail journey would cost more then actually going to get my nails done! 😆
My rule of thumb is if the edges feel rough, season them! Thank you for watching!!
@@thenailauthority thank you 😊
I love your energy.
i just got a set no idea what to do and found you thank the nail lords
You are very welcome! The Nail Lords are here for you!!
Look no further anyone because THIS IS IT! ❤
Thank you!!
Thank you, for this detailed video!!!! I really needed this.
You are so welcome!
I heard you say forward motion when you are right hand working on your left hand. But if you use your left hand and working on your right, do you switch it to reverse motion and then go from right side of nail to left?
Sorry. Im very new to this. Hope im making sense
@@cindyngo4461 Yes. That's exactly what you do. You have to switch the efile to R or reverse. Let me know how that works for you.
Gurrl I'm a whole 2yrs late. But thanks for sharing 💅🏾 helpful tips 👍🏾
😆. No problem. You're welcome!!
Thank you so much! This is very informative 😊 quick question: you mentioned you have a Saeyang K38. I’m having trouble figuring out where that could be purchased, I couldn’t find any retailers online that mail it ti the US. Thank you again!
I would suggest either the Kupa Mani Pro Passport if your looking for a wireless option. Or, the Young nails efile if you want a desktop version
Thank you for showing me how to take it off at the end. I saw a few videos, but no one ever showed or talked about it.
@@ShyRage1 You are very welcome! Glad I could help.
i just love ur energy
Aww thank you! I appreciate you watching!!
Girl we are united as women! The beauty journey is universal, be it a struggle or a free fall, this is a road we walk ❤️ together
@@AshleighJane-nd2qx Seriously! If we were kinder to each other. Or, at least remembered what it was like to start brand new, maybe we wouldn't have so many miserable Mary's out here trying to brow beat everybody.
I’m right here with my set😂❤❤thank ma’am
@@miriamngoe250 You're very welcome!
Girl thank you! I just bought an edible to try doing my own dip powder nails and I am so intimidated. I’m gonna use all your tips!
You are so welcome! thank you for watching!
Go easy on the edibles
Edibles and drill bits could be a recipe for disaster!
So grateful I found your video!
Made it so wonderful people like you can at least know where to start.
Thank you so very much I'm a beginner at doing my nails I have been using the polygel and I ordered the starter kit and I am so trying to figure out how to get the thickness right and how to get that nice natural look around the cuticle when it comes to doing polygel or acrylic
I'll have to do a video focusing on that.
I’m so excited about this!
Yes hi great video. But which bit is for shaping the nails? Thank you
What do you mean by shaping? Do you mean bringing in the side walls or up under the free edge? If so, the Mandrel bit plus sanding band would work great. To get a crisp square, coffin, stiletto, or almond shape, you need to use a 150 grit hand file
I know this is an older video but just wanted to say I love your personality! You seem like a lot of fun! And thank you so so much for this video!! Also if you haven't already, can you make a video showing what bits would be good to buy as a step up from these? I need to buy better ones but don't know where to start.
Sure!! I have this video showing some of the best bits I use for acrylic and gel. Thank you so much for watching! So happy to have you join the fun😊 th-cam.com/video/CEwH6o8s6eY/w-d-xo.html
Oh my gosh you’re so hilarious 😂😂😂
Hey, life can make you cry alot sometimes. We all need more laughter in our lives!! Thank you for watching.
my first time seeing your video!!! and i already love you!!!!!!!
Awww! Thank you so much. I love that you love me and I love you as a viewer too lol!!! 😃
I love your videos! Your personality is amazing ❤️. Please show us how you support the pinky nails while filing on yourself (the support of my pinkies while filing is a problem for me). Thank you 🙏🌹
Ok. I am in process of creating a bunch of videos. I will write this down! Thank you so much for watching!
I love this video. Very instructive and fun to listen to. Thank you!
You are very welcome. Thank you for stopping by and watching!!
if i am right handed and im filing my left hand which direction should my efile twirl? forward or reverse?
It should be in forward if you are filing from right side of the nail around to the left. If you start from the left side of the nail(think about if you are looking at your nail and it's pointed down towards your palm), then file in reverse. Let me know if that helps
you are soooo adorable!! I love you girlie!! I would love to have you as a friend, you personality is absolutely astonishing!! ❤
Aww thank you. I try to stay a generally happy go lucky person. Life has thrown us all into the boo boo pool at times. But, you can get up stronger and sell manure! I appreciate you taking the time to respond. It means a lot to me
