Man this was great. Pretty much pointed out that everything I was doing was wrong. Especially on day one. Another important note you may not think to mention (because it seems like common sense but when you’re new you’re just trying not to hurt yourself) is when you are working on yourself and switch to non dominate hand you need to switch it to the opposite direction! My daughter is going to be grateful for this video next time I do her nails. 😄
I didn’t know I had to season the x-cut too, and I actually stopped using it because I kept cutting myself. So ima give it a try n see how it goes with it being seasoned. Thanks 😊
How could anyone not love Tracey?! When I have a chronic illness flare up, I love to binge watch older and new YN videos, they are soo relaxing, educational and entertaining ⭐️ best wishes Tracey, from the UK, from one horsey girl to another ☺️💕 .. and to the rest of the YN team! ❤ Ps.. please tell Tracey that even tho my name is Rebecca, I absolutely refused to ever let anyone call me Becky!! 🖐🏽 I’ve known a couple and… Yesss.. yikes!! 🤣😂
started school a month ago.. was a nurse for years and decided to pursue a nail license and have my own medi spa. thank you for this! very informational
I'm learning to do my own nails. I bought an E file and did all these mistakes. Thank you so much for explaining everything in your video. I've been using my E file on 2 or 3 to remove bulk on builder gel and got nowhere as I thought faster would burn and hurt me. I feel silly and stupid now lol. Thank you for your valued advice . Cheers ❤
These videos are so helpful! I've really mastered my e-filing thanks to you guys. There are other pros on TH-cam saying that beginners/DIY'ers should never use anything but an arbor band, or anything higher than 5k RPM, and I wasted so much time and energy like that until I found your videos.
I went to a nail salon and she did the back and forth movement and cut me with the drill bit. I now see where she went wrong. I’ve been scarred since. But here I am learning to be a nail tech
I have been doing my own nails for more years than I like to admit, but I have not used an e-file until about a year ago. I used to use my Dad's Dremel moto tool back before e-filing existed, and only because it was impossible to make my nails shorter any other way. I still prefer to hand file my nails because that is how I was taught, and it's extremely difficult to break years of manual filing. However, I love to watch your videos because I always learn something new every single time! Thank you so much I really appreciate all the knowledge you have given, and continue to give!
Again, Thanks- Most important thing you said was “practice on yourself “ .. it automatic for someone totally unfamiliar with tools and this specifically (as well as anything to do w/body) to think it looks easy so it will be. I learned ALOT about the bits, even though I use the same types in my jewelry making ..it’s a totally different thing with nails. Will be practicing with dip powders and e-file as soon as I get the dye from yesterday’s tie-dye session of my finger nails!😊
Thank you Tracey for tips on using the correct bits while e-filing! As a beginner I have been making all of those mistakes. But thanks to you and Young Nails, I’m learning the correct way!
I’ve been qualified 6years and always use my e-file but since lockdown not doing any nails other than my own. I’ve take this time to refresh knowledge from my nail course, anatomy, techniques, nail diseases, ratio and more. This video made me get my note book out a write things down that I already know just keeping my knowledge and skills fresh. Huge thanks to Young Nails team and I’m so sad to know that Tracey is moving on with a new adventure, I’m going to miss you, you helped out while I was learning before my nail course as well as Greg xx
Just the video I was looking for! Very good information...for free!! I am new to the e-file and I burnt myself with it and now am afraid to use it. I'll keep watching more of your videos to help me learn how to use it correctly. Thank you!
Thank you so much for these tips! I'd never heard any of them before but now I know exactly why I'm having issues. I've watched so many other videos and nobody has mentioned any of these things.
this was SO SO HELPFUL OH MY GOSH!! i’ve been making every. single. one. of these mistakes. it’s been really bad lately too!! thank you so much for this !!!
This was beyond helpful. So many of these I was doing. Mainly having the speed too low out of fear causing divets. Using the wrong drill bits. Keeping it in one spot for too long causing friction. Moving side to side & slipping going around the nail. I use the cone shaped tool for removing bulk so I never cut myself or clients but I damn sure scare the life out of them.
Everyone needs to watch this video before turning on that Efile. Such basic information but totally explained I wasn’t inept I just didn’t understand how it actually works. Thanks!
Even after watching a bunch of e-file tutorials on TH-cam, I've made all of these mistakes. If only I'd watched this video first! This is fantastic educational content. Thank you so much!!
Almost every nail tech has gone way too fast on my nail and I have sensitive nails. I never knew it wasn’t suppose to feel like that till I once told someone careful cus every time I get my nails done they damage me with the electric file and this person was so gentle with my nail felt no pain the whole time! Now I know why!
This is very interesting! I am a beginner, I started doing my own nails around January of this year, and I can really see the progress in my nails, they're looking more and more professional. (Professional as in, they no longer look like giant blobs. Lol.) When it's time for me to do my fill, I've noticed that getting rid of the bulk takes SO LONG. It takes HOURS. I use my e-file around 15 rpms, and I use a ceramic cone bit. It has very chunky teeth on it. I was thinking maybe the bit had gone dull, but I only do my nails once a month. I've switched to using a coarse arbor band, and low and behold, I'm getting through the debulking of my nails in about an hour. Instead of like, 4. Lol. So, maybe I do need to change out my bits.
So much great information. You covered all my questions. You are the best. Thank you for sharing all this information with us. I love all of you beautiful people.
Thank you for the help. Just bought an efile and doing research before I attempt it. I have been wanting an efile for years and yes, I am afraid of hurting myself. This is very helpful in building my confidence to avoid pain on my fingers.
Thanks maam. Im a beginner and i did every mistakes that you had just demonstrate🤦♀️🤣 but to my own nails since it’s my first time doing it to myself. I just realized i damaged my own nails when i removed my nail extensions by drilling it all over to my natural nails🤦♀️ and eventually i got scared since i just destroyed it. Currently resting mu nails from any nail gels for 2 weeks now and I’ll try to practice more. Thank you for this! Now I’ll know what to avoid when I decide to do my nails again after they heal♥️
Thank you so much, I just learned so much from this video! I'm about to graduate and become licensed tomorrow and they did not teach us ANY of this! So thank you! Also, a video on filing and shaping after applying the acrylic would be great! You guys may already have one, bout to go take a look!
Yes this would be a great video ,to actually see a few messed up nails & how she would go about fixing them, cuz we all know in the beginning there's ALWAYS filing because we are not consistent enough or smooth enough or just whateva & they always need fixing ,so like 3-4 dif kind of bumpy nails to fix would be awesome !!!!!
Omg your guys videos are a life saver for me being a beginner 🤩✨ like I have realized I have been doing mistakes but now I know what I have properly 🤩🤩🥳
Amazing video. I’m trained in e file and I’m still scared to use it but definitely goin to use the informative information here and practice on myself for a while. Thank you
If your bits are dull will that effect the motors in the drill? So very true about buying new bits I didn't realize it until I purchased your safety bit and it made a world of difference!! Time wise also no divots!! Great Advice!! Thank you!!
This vid was great . One question I have which I cannot find on TH-cam is what bit to use around the cuticle area after acrylic has been laid. Also how to flatten the cuticle area to make it flush to the jail to prevent lifting. So basically filing techniques around the cuticle area 🤔 ☺😊
Thank you for your explanation on e filing and their bits and how and which one to use and with the Rpm extremely helpful. Much appreciated Ma'ma. With the forward and reverse function if using left hand on non dominate hand would I be using reverse?
Wow what an amazing video. Thank you so much I learnt more from this then what I did through my actually course. Amazing work please keep them coming. Thank you again love the products as well.
I love you!! I am doing my own nails because of COVID-19, I am getting better but your tips were life!! I wish I could show you a picture, I like using forms with hybrid gel because it feels lighter than tips and acrylic. You guys are so cool! I subscribed!
You know I almost doubted your instruction from a different video until I gave you a couple of minutes. I love how you come into the video as how you want to present yourself and slowly you put your hair up, put your glasses on and start educating us!!!' I love it. Thank you so much for all the amazing tips and tricks! I really appreciate it 😌
This video has taught me so much! I just got my first e file the other day and I see now I was making lots of mistakes! Luckily they were just on myself lol thanks for the great video!
This was so helpful!! Thanks for posting ❤🙌🏾 Can you please do a video on how to PROPERLY hold your drill while using? I'm just starting out and I want to be safe at all times, thank you!
Thank you so much you this im a beginner and this helps so much

My daughter is going to be grateful for this video next time I do her nails. 😄
Omg thank you for that last note. Makes perfect sense..now I see what I'm shaving off on my other hand 😂
I didn't even think of that! 😂 thank you!
When I change the direction..my drill doesn't turn on...lol
I didn’t know I had to season the x-cut too, and I actually stopped using it because I kept cutting myself. So ima give it a try n see how it goes with it being seasoned. Thanks 😊
It will be awesome!
PLEASE TELL TRACY I APPRECIATE HER!! AND YOU GUYS OF COURSE! THE EDUCATION YALL PROVIDE IS HEAVEN SENT TRULY!! THANK YOU!

This was so helpful I literally made all of these mistakes and left wondering why my nails were so bulky
Damn, 10-16 clients a day?!! You were working HARD!
Thank you for the video, BTW. It helped so much.
Yeah that's a lot
I'm learning to do my own nails. I bought an E file and did all these mistakes. Thank you so much for explaining everything in your video. It all takes practice. Remember not to be so hard on yourself!
The rpm section was very helpful, thank you...💯💖
I’m in nail school now and I tell you what will I done without you guys you’re the best…
You just made our day! 🎉

This was one of the best tutorials on efile! Thank you so much!😍💅
Love that I have a e file and don’t use it often, but I know what to use one of the bands for,and I love the pink polish on your other hand❤
You are so welcome!

You are so welcome!
you answered every question i had in my head about an efile... a great teacher! 💕
Thank you!
I have watched hundreds of nail videos on utube. This by far was the Best Most informative video I’ve watched.❤️
I have been doing my own nails for more years than I like to admit, but I have not used an e-file until about a year ago. There are no words to express my thank you 😊. You are a very good teacher.
Thank you so much. As a beginner your channel has changed my life ❤️🤘🏾

Well? How'd it go?!
Just the video I was looking for! Very good information...for free!! I am new to the e-file and I burnt myself with it and now am afraid to use it. I'll keep watching more of your videos to help me learn how to use it correctly. Thank you!

The best video explaining the efile...very informative!!!💖💖💖
This is great for prepping me for class next week. We're getting into e-files next week

Wow thank you so much for this. Nobody would tell me how to season a bit and the first two things you mentioned on here I really had questions about
THANK YOU!! I’ve practiced on myself and that teaches you 100000% when it gets hot, what it feels like etc.
Great video. I plan to make a go at doing my own nails. This is incredibly helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Great job of explaining everything Tracy.
Thank you! We hope you enjoyed this video on common e-file mistakes.
Thank you so much, I just learned so much from this video! I'm about to graduate and become licensed tomorrow and they did not teach us ANY of this! So thank you! Also, a video on filing and shaping after applying the acrylic would be great! You guys may already have one, bout to go take a look!
Everyone says that....I've learned that schools bust teach the sanitation and nothing more which is sad.

Omg your guys videos are a life saver for me being a beginner 🤩✨ like I have realized I have been doing mistakes but now I know what I have properly 🤩🤩🥳

Thank you so so so much for making this video. ❤️❤️❤️ Love from India
Loved this! So helpful and easy to understand I needed this!
If your bits are dull will that effect the motors in the drill? So very true about buying new bits I didn't realize it until I purchased your safety bit and it made a world of difference!! Time wise also no divots!! Great Advice!! Thank you!!

I use a hand file around the cuticle
Try a super slim ceramic bead or a refill carbide bit, my advice is blue or green band.
This was such a great video, thanks for explaining it so well 👏👏
Thank Y'all for these videos! I'm a young nails user and I really love how you teach us how to use it properly.. bless yall!
Wonderful information, so helpful! Aside from that, love the pink sparkly nails!
Thank you for your explanation on e filing and their bits and how and which one to use and with the Rpm extremely helpful. Much appreciated Ma'ma. With the forward and reverse function if using left hand on non dominate hand would I be using reverse?
yes, if you are right handed and using your left to work on your right hand you would use reverse
That's what I do I down grade my drill bits to gel or use it as a finer bit 👍🏽 loved this video
This was incredibly useful and made so much sense. Thank you!
Great video. I do some of these and now I know what I need to fix. So educational. Thank you
You guys are so awesome. These videos are so helpful.
Thanks for the very informative video! I really did learn a lot!!
I learned so much from this video, thank you so much! Guessing bits and speeds was definitely not working for me! 😅
Wow what an amazing video. Thank you so much I learnt more from this then what I did through my actually course. Amazing work please keep them coming. Thank you again love the products as well.

What do u mean C 19 please lol 🤷♀️🤔🤔
This video was very informative. Thank you so much. This video definitely helped me a great deal.
I love your channel and your products. Helping me more with my nail tech course currently in lockdown than the official vids college recommends

SUCH GREAT INFO!
THANK YOU ! Even for seasoned techs, & a great reminder!! Ty
This video is super helpful I am constantly cutting y cuticles because I don’t season my bands lol. Ouch.
Thank you for such an informative video and explaining the reasoning behind it!
Thank you so much Tracy ❤️ this video is so helpful
Thank you so much for this very educational video, I thought I knew alot....well now I learned more. Thank you!!
