I don't care what anyone says, I love hearing your enthusiasm about this. You can't fake enthusiasm like this, and it really shows how much you love this motor. I can't wait to get one for my FCX24, and this is the video that convinced me to get it.

A doff of the hat and a pull on a greasy forelock to the design engineers at Furitek! Clever packaging to be sure. I was recently Dumpster (reg, TM) diving in the rank bilge of an old spare parts container when I yanked out my original SCX24 pitiful burnt out motor, progress has been made. I’m honestly stoked about this one
Dang! This is exactly what I’ve been waiting for! I love my og komodo, put it through hell (deep water, mud, sandboxes, etc). Even got it completely buried by a kid once to the point of no rotation - stuck a driver in the hole and forced it free before running it full throttle under running water - thing still works great and still smooth.
However, in my quest to cram more stuff under my stock c10 body, I got the mini komodo. It’s been great since it’s slightly smaller and faster, but I get this weird jerky motion in reverse and have no idea how to fix it. Maybe a python would help, but no idea.
But this thing is next level! If I can put the motor back in the stock location and be fully sealed, I’d be able to get so much more under the hood. Maybe an interior wouldn’t be out of the question.
Thanks for comparing it to a mini komodo with the same scx24 axles. Gets me a pretty good idea since mine with mini komodo is on fcx24 axles now.
Can you test slow crawl and top speed using the 16t pinion from the mini komodo on 3s?
Do you know if the mount it’ll come with is aluminum or plastic? Sorry if I missed it in your video.

I just put a furitek in my Gladiator Fri night and I am super impressed. I put it on the edge of my table Saturday morning and started eating breakfast with the throttle trim barely on. When I finished eating it was just over half way across the table.

Ok this video sold me on the Cedar. I ordered the torpedo system for the fx118(python pro and cedar) because I don’t know how well or how long that venom motor will last. Has a bit of clogging on the slow speed start up. That being said I will have an extra lizard pro to put in another rig. My Fcx24 needs some love. The venom has the right 15t pinion and I was hoping you know if it will fit and line up right without a motor mount adapter. I know I will need to hack out the stock motor. It is at least a year and a half old. I could probably space it with bushings or I guess I could just order another cedar for it. Thanks for making great reviews. You always show me what I am looking for. I have the 1400kv Komodo too. I was as giddy as you were about the cedar. I just couldn’t believe how smooth and slow it was.

I was so jealous of that new motor I spent all weekend playing with the setting in the furitek app and finally got it to run like that new motor. Go to where you Calibate the throttle and set your punch p0wer to 3 and your done. I left everything else with stock setting. Give it a shot
Yeah I turn my punch power down a lot if my setup isn’t super smooth. Seems to be one of the settings that makes the most difference imo. Glad you got it lined out!
@2FM RC thanks me too it seems to get rid of that jump seems to smooth out that transition. Time to go chase down the mailman he has my transmission and motor for scooby-doo its all metal gears and motor all assembled . Yippee

Lol glad I’m good for a laugh now and then! It’s like knowing what you’re getting for Xmas. You still love it and enjoy it but it’s just not quite as exciting if you’re not surprised with something new and different.

I'm curious if you've had any issues with it? I just got mine installed on the MEUS mb24. There is huge tourq twisting going on, more than I've ever had. I took the meus iso axles apart, re-greased (utter butter) & checked & they are so smooth & no binding whatsoever. So i took the trany out & it was good to go no binding. Finally, i took the motor all the way out & barley touched the throttle & boy it jumped out of my hand & twisted the wiring fast. That alone is where 100%of my torq twist is coming from. Also, it gets untouchable hot just running in my hand for several seconds. Also, on the axles, the front has this, like hopping going on every revolution at the same point... I'm not sure what that is, but again, the axles are buttery smooth, no binding. Thanks, dig ur show.

And sorry that you seem to have been ghosted by OGRC on the axle. For us that are outside the States, that type of thing is so important for us as it's such a big enough headache and expense if we order from the US. Would be a nightmare if we had issues and needed help and replacements. Keep us informed big guy!

I had issues with those axles early on (broke the housing & cvds) but they’ve changed their housings since. I bought a couple sets awhile back and have yet to take them out of the package lol. I just prefer the ring and pinion axles.

Can you do a review on the Chevrolet Apache 6x6 from FMS please?
I never picked that one up cause I’m just not a fan of 6x6s really. I think the Apache would look really cool but probably be lacking in the upgrades dept. FMS should really produce more parts for a lot of the models like the Apache. They release so many really nice trucks that have zero upgrades available.

After driving this for some time i prefer the mini komodo, that has smooth transition from slow speed, the Cedar does some noticeable stuttering around 40 % power, not sure if its the motor or the python esc. Also like the smaller formfactor of the mini K. Personally don't care about waterproof or 4 S,

What is the bolt pattern measurement? will it direct bolt into a Trx4m?
9mm. Same as micro Komodo. It won’t directly bolt in but they are gonna offer a Trx4m version.

It’s actually just a cheap overdrive transmission from amazon. I’ll link it below. Then I used a mofo mount I think for the nano motor or one of them lol

I think if anything on the scx24 you’d have to trim the battery tray. On an ax24 it may be a bit of a tight fit that needs some work.
Yours works good , I'm trying to run my cedar motor and lizard pro on 3s and not having any luck , motor cuts in and out going full throttle and gets hot .
Did u ever figure it out? I have a cedar and lizard pro, and it has the super slow crawl, then jumps directly to like 50% power, kind of reminds me of driving a stock one.
So there's no glitchy jerk between the FOC and brushless transition?
Is that the Lizard Pro ESC you are running. I was wondering about 3S on that ESC with this motor.

I need a run through with links in desc of this build I have a frame and axles scx24 c10, ruined my transmission puttin a brushless that was too big into it eith custom gears .. lmk what u think I should do goin after a lcg build like what you have here. What do u reccomend. I also live in ky hour south of Evansville seen ur humv forsale

I would say if anything you’d have to trim the battery tray on a stock scx24. Ax24 I’m sure they’ll have a mount that makes it fit without hitting the links and be more centered. Not sure though

Thats funny you mention the ogrc axles. I actually got them to give me a refund because of the slop and got to keep the axles. havent broken them yet but havent really bashed them haha

Have you ran a hobbywing fusion pro 2300kv? In 10th scale, it's exactly the same. I couldn't believe you could go slower than an axe system, boy was I wrong
Oh yeah the fusion is insane for 1/10s. Can’t beat them. I’ve been buying the $69 base version the SE and it’s plenty. A few less tuning options but great for most builds. I put one in my fms Jimny and bought another for the mbscaler 😆

I agree with you 100% about the axles them CBDs are junk man I barely spend the tires and it caught popped it right but then I'm using Mofo's Universal axles DVDs with the other one really good turning angle also I think that's what he calls to they give you extra turning angle or something like that there on his website they are such a beast but then the rest of my car's I'm running portal axles and I haven't broke nothing and I put my stuff in the worst spot
I honestly can't see ot having more torque than the outrunner. The inrunner vs outrunner, everything being equal, the outrunner will always have more torque just because of the design. And 12+ years running outrunner on my crawlers, I've only seen one of them knock a magnet lose from gravel...I cleaned it, and epoxied the magnet back in and it runs perfectly.
My Python is that smooth.
Yeah the oitrunner def has more torque. Always will. The inrunner is just nice for water and stuff. My favorite thing is you don’t have to worry about clearance in these tight trucks! The outrunners get tight sometimes

Lol that’s the ones I broke while running this truck. Broke one, went in and swapped it out with the newer version. Hit that line once and snapped the same side! Luckily I had another to keep me rolling.
How do you get the motor to mount twords the back mine is hitting my servo in the front and I cannot figure out how to flip the motor to stock orientation please help
You’ll have to flipped the transmission. It’s two screws in the bottom and one on top of the transmission.

Do you think it will fit in the AX24?
I think it will but I’m going to do a vid finding out. I’m sure they’ll release a mount specifically for the ax24 to center the motor up a bit more to clear the links better but it may fit using the current mount idk?

Really depends how important the waterproof feature is. The smp is really smooth for me so just on control alone I don’t think I would but if picking between the two in the future I’d probably go cedar

Stock. Just has an old Furitek motor mount on it.

If people are saying that they don't know why you run that FCX axles they are crazy that's the bottom line them axles are strong as especially if you put aluminum axle housings in I don't run the plastic stuff I run nothing but aluminum it All Steel years so I've had that Power Wagon and some of the worst books bined you've ever seen and it's still going strong
Which transmission did you go with?
Just a stock one with a different case in this truck. There really wasn’t any good options when I first built it. When I installed this motor I just went with what was already in the truck.

They are going to release one for it as well. It will fit the micro Komodo mount so if you have that setup for the Trx4m this should bolt up. You’d have to change the pinion though.
Am I slow or is there no way to have zero drag with their stuff? It drives me crazy, I need a drag break ramp or something.
On an Scx24 the issue is the worm gears. No matter what you do there is drag. On an fcx24 you turn the drag off and there is none.
