First game my dad apparently ever bought for himself. I remember being little, and curious about old consoles. My dad plugged in his original Nintendo, and had me play this game. I’ll never forget having so much fun in such an old RPG!
I have sad news.......... Akira Toriyama, the art designer for Dragon Quest/Dragon Ball, have passed away and join the journey with the late Kōichi Sugiyama into the Unknown World Thanks you, Rest in peace in another world sensei.......
i am new to dragon quest and im playing dq11 right now. im shocked that there is a dq11 in 3ds! i cant believe that what i am playing on my ps5 is a remake!
I like to consider DQ3 and 4 as 2 games in 1: one for the male protagonist, and the other for the female. The differences are minimal, sure, but given the fact the choice is goven at the beginning it's cool you can choose the version of the game you prefer to play.
11's a good entry point since it's easily accessible. You can also buy the switch ports of the first three Dragon Quest games but you can also wait for the HD-2D remakes of those games coming in November of this year. I should also mention that the first three games form their own trilogy, the Erdrick Trilogy.

It's not a remake. DQ11 had 2 versions in Japan. We got the realistic looking one years later. The 3ds version stayed exclusive to them.

Missing the famicom versions. Sprites were changed in the NA localization.
