Anyone happen to know why the motor/rear tire on a Razor 350 will not run/turn when the motor/tire is at a dead stop but if I advance the tire or motor spindle (while the motor or rear tire is standing still) the motor/tire will actually turn/run when I twist the throttle(!?)
@@__WJK__ I am making a guess, but I would think it might also be because of a weak battery. Because when you first engage the throttle, the motor draws more power. This might drop the voltage below the required amount needed to run the controller. But when you roll the tire a little, it helps it get started and does not draw as much power. I would monitor the voltage while engaging the throttle to see how much it drops. A second guess might be dead spots on the motor itself, but I think this is less likely.
Thanks for the info brother!!! Picked one up for free off a friend and couldn't figure out even with 13V fully charged batteries. Makes sense the current is only pushing just over 1 amp rather then 7.5a the batteries are rated for!! Appreciate it!!
Thank you sir. This is what I was experiencing with my sons pocket rocket. Your a God sent. Now I know. Time for a new battery. God bless and thanks for making this video.
This exact thing was happening on my sons mx350 (powered on, single click when turning throttle, no motion). I pulled the fuse (which looked like it could have been slightly dislodged), checked it, and reinstalled it. At that point I turned the bike on and the throttle worked. I either got extremely lucky that the fuse just needed re-seated OR the fuse wasn’t the issue at all and instead there is a loose wire that I accidentally tampered with during dis-assembly and I’ll soon experience a non-mobile bike again. I’m leaning towards the latter as I wouldn’t have thought the power would have even turned on if the fuse was not seated right.
Thank you my son's was doing the same thing. I suspected the batteries as he turned the bike on sometime this winter or before and left it on so I figured he froze and ruined the batteries.
Am experiencing the same problems, but I’m not getting the clicking. I replaced the throttle, still no clicking and problem persists. Any advisement on what it may be? Everything I read, says that the throttle needs to be clicking or else the throttle is bad. The throttle replacement, a simple plug-and-play, and I just put a new one on and still experiencing dead bike no clicking.
No, I bought a new controller off Amazon for $25, haven’t installed but plan to this weekend. If that doesn’t work I may replace the motor for $36 from Amazon then it goes to recycling if still doesnt work. If I’m successful I’ll update here.
just replaced my batteries and my son enjoyed his dirt bike for a wk now it work ,the back is fine when turned on it runs but the back tires won't moved ,any ideas pls
I have an answer for that...cause the throttle has to have juice..the same way your Starter in your car ..if it doesn't have enough juice the car wont start and same as the razor..the throttle takes a lot of juice to send to the battery.so if the batteries aren't good then the throttle wont crank the razor
First. Thanks for the starting point. Same issue on my kids. Did what was suggested EXCEPT I did not have voltage drop! Dang. Checked connector to motor from electric controller NO VOLTAGE. Bad controller **it was clicking**, right. Easy. Amazon 2 weeks later. Installed. SAME problem!! Still no voltage out of NEW controller to motor??!?! Luckily I have second one. I played with components to find that the problem was the "ON/OFF SWITCH!!! Really?? Picked one up at auti parts store for 7 bucks.(make sure you install correctly or you will need fuses) Done. Ride like new again.
I didnt cover how to check a switch but should have. This video is almost 3 years old and maybe I should update with how to check all the components. Glad you were able to figure it out and get it running.
My zr350 turns on but when I hit the throttle i only hear 1 click n nothing happens.. is there any advice you can give, I don't have a voltage meter so I can't test the power outages
So I just replaced the batteries because they weren't holding charge and everything was working great. However it seemed like the break was rubbing or sticking. So I loosened the brake, added a washer to the rear tire, and lubricated the chain and sprocket. Then everything was working great but I realized when I tried the brake that I had forgotten to tighten it back up. So once I did that the clicking began. After watching this video I checked the voltage with the load on it and like I suspected it still has 25vdc. I know the clicking and brake scenario are totally unrelated and coincidental. Do you know what else it could be causing the clicking? Could it be the motor?
Hi i bought two new batteries for my sons mx350 razor and they needed charged and so i plugged in my charger to charge them and the charger is reading green as if they were charged and there not. Any suggestions. Thanx
The motor will turn over on 12v to test. The controller needs a certain amount of voltage in order to operate. But bypassing the controller to test the motor on 12v is fine, it should turn over on 12volts.
My neighbors daughter payed her bike down while riding it and then after the wreck it started clicking and he replaced the batteries and still clicks. About to replace the controller and throttle to see if that will work. If we replace the controller and that doesn’t fix it, what do you recommend?
So my son's electric dirt bike says its has full battery but when he rides it it goes slow. What do you think it is. ( my 5 yr old is riding it and 10 yr old)
The only true way of knowing the battery is fully charged is to test the batteries in the bike while the bike is on. However to me it sounds like the batteries are starting to go dead.
So I charged the battery and it says green. I hold back up and it runs fast but when my 5 yr old tries to ride it it goes very slow. So u think its the battery??
Mine doesn't click but when I plugged it up and waited a while it read that the battery was fully charged. I turned it on but nothing happened nor did the lights on the throttle turn on either. What could be the issue ?
My boys got one where the throttle won’t work all the time. When it works, it works but when it doesn’t, there’s not even a click. I’m thinking a short or a bad relay. Going to tear it down this weekend to troubleshoot. Any tips?
Its been 7 years since I made this video and I cant remember exactly. Is the throttle like a throttle or is it basically a on off momentary switch? If its just a momentary switch you could disconnect the connector and test it with a dmm set on continuity. Give it a bunch of pull backs and if the audible beep keeps going then you might be able to rule out the throttle switch. If it cuts out then it could be the throttle switch. If that makes sense.
It’s not a bad idea. Just make sure it’s AGM or another type of battery that won’t leak or spill. Remember- our kids are on it. Battery acid is not fun.
I’m trying to fix my little brother’s rsf350 it turns on but no click when turning the throttle. And I left it charging all night and the charger was green the whole time. Any help would be amazing!
You could do it with a 12v charger to get the batteries up enough to put it on the regular charger. However you would need to remove the batteries to charge the individually.
any idea on this issue? everything on the bike works well except the back wheel wont spin when the bike is sitting on the ground. When I raise the back wheel and rev it, it spins just fine with normal power. any suggestions or fixes would be appreciated

Bad controller? I haven’t tested the motor like you said you did .. I don’t know how

Have you done a full test of the battery voltage before turning the bike on, Also after its on and while pulling the throttle. I would check all 3 of those and check the fuse between the batteries. You could have a bad on/off switch or throttle switch or controller. There is not much to these and a few simple tests would clearly show whats wrong with one.
Turns out my MX350 charging plug fits in the bike 3 different ways. Only 1 of the ways turns the charger RED. Once I figured out which way actually charges it, I marked it with a silver sharpie. Silver side up. Batteries don’t charge the other two ways. GLTA
I checked battery voltage which was 24.2 volts. Turned switch on and it was still 24.2V. Had clicking sound but motor didn't run. Any ideas what may be the problem? How do I check the motor to see if it's good? Thanks.

how did you remove the ferrings/ Seat?
Hi. I have a bike with the same issue. Do you work on the bikes? I’m in Dayton Ohio and I would like to get this repaired for my son.
Just buy new batteries or try jumping them from other batteries

My nephew have one that rev's but the back wheel won't move unless you hold it up you now the problem to that?
Sounds like the batteries to me. There is not enough amperage left in the batteries to move any weight.
