    Honda seats are notorious for that left edge getting warn down. I took apart a seat I got from Pick a Part just to see what it was like to take one apart, before I messed with mine. I really needed your video to feel comfortable doing it. It's exactly what I needed to see. If I may ask.. What is the type of foam you used for that left side? I want to replace the left side, however, wouldn't mind going a little stiffer than stock. This is for a 2008 Civic Si. I also have 2015 Camaro SS seats I will be doing the same thing in. Thanks much!

      You can use a smaller hand held steamer, may take a little longer but will work the same.

    William I just found your channel and subscribed. I am trying to learn and I appreciate you posting this good stuff. Once the foam has been steamed will the foam hold its position for long, or will it soon go back to the worn down position?

    • @williamhall749
      @williamhall749  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If the foam is dead steam want revised it. But if it blows it back to it's original shape then it should. The cover shrinkage usually compresses the foam. It a good idea to steam it .& thanks for watching and picking up on doing this type work.

New at this kind of project. I do have pictures to show if your able to help this newby. William I have a question. Can I get kerosene out of my seat that has soaked it up till it is almost up to the head rest? I was hauling a heater and was not aware it was leaking kerosene all over the seat and back floor..😢it’s a 2010 Chevy Silverado

    • @williamhall749
      @williamhall749  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kerosene is oily fuel, I would try a spray bottle with dawn dish soap, keep in mind, it don't take a lot. it will break the kerosene down and take a shop vac and pull the water back out it will also take the fuel out. pump up sprayer works well also for this process. hope this helps.

    It's cheaper to just buy a new molded foam seat insert. eBay has them. Plus it's not like one can buy foam at MICHAELS that is made for auto seats.Again eBay sellers have your SUV seat foam molded for you're year make and model.

    • @williamhall749
      @williamhall749  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's also cheaper to buy a steak from the grocery store than go to longhorns. Buying foam on ebay is fine if it fits your vehicle, this video is for training purposes ,to teach a viewer how to repair the foam in a seat.

    Haha. This popped up on my feed. Can't hear it, too loud here. But here's what you need to know. It ain't rocket surgery. Go at it with a hacksaw blade, cut that crappy foam out, get a new chunk of foam and a cann of spray glue...stuff it in there and shape it a bit. Bob's your uncle! Getting a good cover or stitching one together is the real work. The foam is the easy part.. while you're in there may as well add heat pads! Now do your motorcycle too!
