How to repair a car seat listing wire

It is over understood that car seat foam bases are not made out forever. As time passes by the foam becomes dusty, because it loses its bonding action.
Hence, it is advisable to replace the whole molded foam piece for a new one which includes its new buried listing wires.
Sometimes we cannot find one for this kind of vehicle and that is the reason the upholsterer should repair the foam base,
if it is possible.
As we can see in the video the main point is the repairing of buried listing wires inthe foam. The listing wires sewn down to the cover will be hog-ringed to these buried wires to give a desired shape to the car seat.
The method of reattaching these wires worked out well and would last for quite a while.

As mentioned in the video description the best would have been to replace this foam base for a new one, but the customer under his own responsibility only wanted a repair. Anyways, it is going to last for quite a while.

Have you thought about taking a bag and vacuuming it over the OE cushion. Then make a mold of the exterior of the bag (fiberglass or reinforced plaster in 2 parts) then simply pour a new two part urethane foam of the right density into the cavity making a brand new expanding foam cushion of the approximate correct durometer type?
You are right! It can be and I would like to use it for a special job.

No, I have never used steam. I particularly like to replace the old worn or distorted foam for a new one. I only do foam repairings if the customer request it under his own risk.

I wanted to ask there, in the comment section, if it's okay to use "DO.ALL" all purpose adhesive contact cement (the issue about this adhesive is it melts when exposed to heat. ) for my vintage car dashboard. but since it was uploaded 7 years ago, I though that I might not get any feedback from you so I decided to look for your newest upload to ask about it😁.. if not, what kind of adheaive should I use for those kind of project... thank you....
In my recent experience it seems vinyl top adhesive is used. Heat really isn't an issue but fairly expensive. Of course a professional needs to be able to stand behind his work so it's worth it to them

This dashboard to be leather wrapped was sent from the USA to Mexico where I am located. Last year the customer commented me he is still happy with his dashboard in leather.
I used a regular upholstery yellow glue for the dashboard project:

If you are in the USA, most American car trimmers recommend Landau cantact cement (sprayable or brushable).

At some point, the old foam should be replaced. It smells bad and is falling apart.
