Oz isn’t just using Vic as an lackey. He seems to genuinely care about Vic, even though, Oz knows better than to let himself become attached to him. Later, you can see the pain in Oz’s eyes, as he sat at the bar reflecting on Vic’s leaving.
She isn't the Hangman, her father is, in The Batman it was revealed he killed at least two women, he tried to strangle Selina (his daughter) and probably tried to do the same to his legitimate daughter, as she has neck wounds and has to cover up. She probably wasn't a psychopath when she went into Arkhem, but was when she came out.
The neck wounds to Sophia were shown in episode 2 as a result of her scratching her neck in her sleep and in the beginning of that episode in the therapist office she's having that breakdown of being back in arkham and it shows that they kept something around her neck while she was in her room
The fact that this series started so strong, and is actually getting better leads me to believe that if we get some good character development coming up, a twist or two, and they stick the landing would have this as an all-time great crime drama season.
Farrell's acting gave me some full body chills this week, he's always invested, but Christ on a Bliss binge, such a strong episode. Loved that we got to see the flooding from another, closer, civilian perspective, along with Vic's PTSD. Oz snapping at the waiter - allowing Vic to finish talking, at his own pace. Three episodes in and we're being given such remarkable arcs. And when I saw that the narcotics were getting shipped to Sofia from Arkham, first thing I thought of was Scarecrow/Crane and his fear toxin. They say it's a euphoric stimulant, but if you tamper with it... I'm wondering if it's going to be weaponised somehow. You could be forgiven for thinking Vic was experiencing some fear-induced hallucinations during the party. Beautiful editing. But then I remembered that the Joker is already in Arkham by this point, too, so... And Sofia's not The Hangman? A lot to chew on until next week!
I figured Sofia wasn't the Hangman after episode 1, and was certain she wasn't after episode 2. The only moments of genuine shame you ever saw from Oz were in his interactions with Sofia. I believe he helped Falcone destroy her to protect Carmine and hide his own serial murders. We learned in the Batman that Carmine enjoyed choking women to death. We even heard him do it once to Selina's roommate in a recording. Sofia is going to be the most sympathetic psychopath we've ever seen by the end of this series.
Oh yeah.. we're gonna go a roller-coaster with that little lady - from fear to understanding, from understanding to pity, and from pity to death - most likely. Which would be an utter shame, mind you.. she's endlessly more interesting than many of the other female characters within the "Batverse"
@@actuallyomi770 She did say that.. but she did not say what Oz ratted her out about.. that's a pretty crucial piece of information that we havent gotten yet.
@@actuallyomi770 he ratted her out to her father because she was going to betray him. Oz betrayed both people he drove for to move himself up the ladder. The guy that gave him his first driving job, got killed for betraying Carmine and Oz glossed over the details and how Carmine found out to Vic because again he was ashamed of his part in it. He ratted him out to Carmine for a better opportunity. Then again he was Sofia's driver and she goes to Arkham as the Hangman, and Carmine rewards Oz. They've been telling us what Oz confesses to Sofia here the entire series.
One more theory that’ll twist the knife; Carmine might kill women by strangulation, but still regarding ‘business’… horrible as it is. His son Alberto, he was the serial killer ‘Holiday’ in the comics. And he had a substance abuse problem as well as a need to please, to emulate, his dad. What if he killed those women and Carmine covered it up, choosing his son over his daughter? And what if all those times he visited Sofia was to try to assuage his own guilt? The one member of her family who she thought loved her unconditionally… learning that would just destroy Sofia.
"I'm not sure what Vic could've done" He could've dropped the bag, Vitti's driver thought he was stealing it from the car, not planting it. Then Vitti could still be framed. But he ran off, so Oz had to kill the Maroni capo.
Tbh leaving Sofia was the best play possible, she's smart and could connect the dots after the maronis pulled up on them. Unless Oz is able to turn that sht around, Sofia is definitely not on his side no more, and just after that talk they had 😢
Oswald had already told the Maronis to act as double agents, so by the end, he and the Maronis definitely agreed on a plan. That's why he left Sofia behind and also he would react the attack completely different. Penguin will hand Sofia over to the Maronis and take control of the drug operation.
I get the feeling that Oz considers Vic as a substitute brother. We have not heard yet what happened to his brothers, but when we do, it will likely explain much about Oz's motivations and feelings.
Oz really let Vic go. He wants VIc to WANT to be there. And he truly believes what hes saying. World aint set up for an honest man to succeed. You want to get the life you want without luck? Hard work aint gonna do it. Gotta hustle. He just also really would like a friend.
Nikki - absolutely spot on. Sofia was offended and hurt at the implication she would harm a child. The whole "Things might not work out so well for her" last episode serves two purposes, methinks - 1) to scare Carla for faking the 'friendship' (given how isolated Sofia is, that had to cut deep), and 2) I think she was talking about _herself_ Add to that her quite adamant "I'm not the Hangman" in this episode, and the line about dancing on her dad's grave, and a theory I've been brewing is feeling a little more solid. I have the sneaking suspicion Sofia was sent to Arkham to take the fall for someone in the family, probably not by choice. After all, it was daddy dearest who had a penchant for strangling the ladies... I don't think she feels any loyalty to the people in the family. Alberto was the only one who didn't abandon her, didn't turn on her, didn't write her off as crazy - which is why losing him pushed her over the edge. Can't wait to see how this all plays out...

Also, Zsazs in the comics almost left with his girlfriend too to start a new life but then he chose his ambition only to eventually get buried in debt as he struggled with gambling addiction. U can tell oz got his feelings hurt after finding out vic was gonna bail..oz m8ght b3 the worst "fill in" father figure one can have, but oz truly likes this kid. Vic has done things that oz would have killed anyone else for doing so that says ALOT right there. So when he sees the texts and realizes that this kid he took under his lil penguin flapper, this kid he genuinely is starting to "care" for (atleast "care" as much as oz is able too as a psychopath) feels like the whole "life" is shameful.. it hurt oz more than made him mad..even when he lets vic go u can tell he wants him stay..sure is he lonely and all those things? Yes he Is, but he truly feels a bond with this kid which is just truly fascinating in terms of a character study like this series.. we kno oz is a remorsless scumbag, but he is a very human, very relateble human being which is why this show has worked so well.. im also curious when and how will oz embrace the "penguin" moniker himself?? As of right now the name penguin seems to be more of a behind the back insult that Everyone knows about, viti is the only dude who has called oz penguin (twice) and we kno viti n oz don't particularly care for eachother so...im hoping we get a scene where oz getting attacked and gets his orbital bone smashed (eye socket) and in perhaps the final shot we get oz trying to read the newspaper (I kno old school) and oz struggling to read begrudgingly puts on his 1st ever monocle!! Then we as the audience see the headline clear up as oz's vision clears up and it reads "move over falcones a new penguin takes over gothams drug trade"( oz Cobb takes over falcone/meroni turfs ect)..
Two things, one Vic’s girl saved his life with a text. He didn’t go the second time. Two, Oz said he cares about Sophia right b4 he left her. Both are concerning for Vic.
well, questions but more like theories: 1. are the shrooms used to produce bliss a hint for poison ivy’s appearance anytime soon? 2. is victor actually a reboot origin of another villain - victor zsasz?
I think Penguin has a hole left behind by his brothers, which is why he got attached to Vic. He is criminally insane but he wasn't born that way. He had to build himself into this.
Avasarala and Jules Pierre Mao in the same episode. Random note but I think Wes Chatham (actor who played Amos) would be a great fit for this Gotham. As what, I don’t know, just the vibe he gives off matches this show.
I have a theory! The first 2 episodes made us believe that Sophia was the hanged killer! We also saw Oz's mother twice. But in the third episode, we are made to believe that Sophia is not the hanged killer and if I'm not mistaken, we don't see Oz's mother in the episode! The hanging killer would be the penguin's mother!
Lol Nikki " you can get alot from somebody with their pants down" . Immediately Nikki nvm That did not sound how I thought was going to sound out loud 😂 😅
Oz had to dip out on her, on the hope that Sophia is executed right there. When the Maronis showed up, they outted him. At best, he might have second thoughts and go save her, if she's not executed. They can expose him, so he might come back and save her. He still needs her to continue Bliss, for now. Oz is an amazing tap dancer, man.
I think it’s interesting how he despises his nickname penguin….I have a feeling he’s gunna lose it and eventually “become the penguin” when he comes out on top
Nikki, when you were reacting to the buildings being blown up, the sight of losing a family in an instant - due to bombs being planted by evil people. It reminded me of something. It reminded me of the reality today, this is Gaza, right now.. The last year over 50,000 people have been bombed - most of which women and children. Family’s lost in seconds, dreams, future lives crushed. You have a platform, please use it to spread truth, so perhaps you can make a difference in this world.
Could you consider a Kevin Conroy reaction - tribute? Nov 10th marks 2nd anniversary of his death. I got a voice acting background and his voice was an inspiration for me since Batman the Animated Series. I made a tribute to him using the classic BtAS toys with footage from Arkham and Injustice but I don't got ur reach, and he deserves much bigger tribute.
It’s funny how everyone is so scared of Sophia, the “Hangman” ,for killing 7 women, allegedly, when a lot of the main characters have a much higher body count - Vic is so scared of her ,but he had to deal with the aftermath of Oz killing someone at their first meeting - although, I think the reason why her family was so skittish around her was partially guilt and maybe some brainwashing
@NikkiStevenReact actually you might be right.A serial killer locked up in Arkham for 10 years , suddenly let loose would make anyone weary...more for the implications of being there & surviving so long, than the actual body count ....the disconnect and fear of 'crazy' is still funny (in an ironic, sarcastic way), considering the ones belonging in Arkham are the people running Gotham
I'm disappointed in Victor. He had a good family, he still had a good friend/girlfriend. He could have got out. He was right there. Yet he chose to return to this.

Thank you guys so much for putting this video out today. My allergies are kicking my butt, but you guys are making it worth it. ❤❤❤
With this type of show (& honestly Gotham in general), I fully embrace the terms “protagonist” and “antagonist.”
I think the twist is gonna be that either Carmine or Alberto was the real Hangman and she got blamed.
This show is Phenomenal. I'm blown away by HBO
“You can get alot from somebody with their pants down” Nikki 2024
Amazing Serie 10/10
I've been subscribed for awhile don't think I've commented old man here i just want to say I love your reactions you always keep me entertained
Two things, one Vic’s girl saved his life with a text. He didn’t go the second time. Two, Oz said he cares about Sophia right b4 he left her. Both are concerning for Vic.
I like seeing Victor becoming the equivalent of Robin to Batman for the Penguin.
I have never heard that actress curse before the last lady that showed up 😂
Did you guys notice who the head of the triads is played by? It’s Jules-Pierre Mao the original villian who brought the protomolecule
I think the Maronis told Sofia the truth before Vic arrived. That's why Oz had to abandon her coz she'd kill him.
Great show and even better reactions
If there IS a play here…Penguin should accuse Sophia of setting HIM up! Lmao!
well, questions but more like theories:
1. are the shrooms used to produce bliss a hint for poison ivy’s appearance anytime soon?
2. is victor actually a reboot origin of another villain - victor zsasz?
I think Penguin has a hole left behind by his brothers, which is why he got attached to Vic. He is criminally insane but he wasn't born that way. He had to build himself into this.
24:58 - PAUSE lol
He left her because she obviously knows now that hes been playing both sides after the Moroni's pulled up saying "you think you can play us"
Avasarala and Jules Pierre Mao in the same episode.
Unrelated to this video, but because they've reacted to Sandman in the past, Sandman season 2 is coming, probably early 2025.
Best show on tv right now
i think vic not going to survive season1 and his death is turning point for penguin becoming full villain
I mean he alrerady is a full villain. But maybe you mean supervillain level like terrorist like Riddler or something
Tao from Gran Torino really changed .... :o
What the song play, when Vic leave?
Lol Nikki " you can get alot from somebody with their pants down" . Immediately Nikki nvm That did not sound how I thought was going to sound out loud 😂
😅
Oz had to dip out on her, on the hope that Sophia is executed right there. When the Maronis showed up, they outted him. At best, he might have second thoughts and go save her, if she's not executed.
They can expose him, so he might come back and save her. He still needs her to continue Bliss, for now.
Oz is an amazing tap dancer, man.
I think it’s interesting how he despises his nickname penguin….I have a feeling he’s gunna lose it and eventually “become the penguin” when he comes out on top
Love for you two watch Justified & Fringe sometime
Nikki, when you were reacting to the buildings being blown up, the sight of losing a family in an instant - due to bombs being planted by evil people. It reminded me of something.
It reminded me of the reality today, this is Gaza, right now..
The last year over 50,000 people have been bombed - most of which women and children. Family’s lost in seconds, dreams, future lives crushed.
You have a platform, please use it to spread truth, so perhaps you can make a difference in this world.
right!
Realistically what was vic and the penguin going to do against the rest of the thugs.
Victor is gonna start using because of his PTSD
Just stoping by to say that i love your channel guys!
Also Narcos would be a good series for you to watch, lots of Breaking Bad vibes
You should check out a movie called The Hunt, also Ready or Not. I think with your sense of humor you would like both movies
It's amazing how bad Gotham was and then along comes the Riddler and turns it into the Gotham we're all familiar with.
This is what Book of Bobba Fett should have been!!! 🤯
I just think it’s the Arkham effect. Anyone who puts 10 years in at that place could be very intimidating.
Sensei Ishikawa! What are you doing?
Ep 4 OMG -
I'm disappointed in Victor. He had a good family, he still had a good friend/girlfriend. He could have got out. He was right there. Yet he chose to return to this.
What we have here is an Excellent show..and Colin Farrell....Wow.
Iv seen this 3 times now this week. Its too good to be one season. I feel like something really bad will end up happening to Vic I hope I'm wrong. But this show Is very dark no person is safe. If theres no batman 2 in the works for next 2 years can we get a season 2 of the penguin. Man this is the first time iv watched s series of gothom they made a few over the years. Its because Hbo made this 1 and Colin Ferrell bring Irish i had to watch. Its outstanding so far so good
I dont know what you're watching but many bad things have already happened to Vic. Him staying is the latest bad thing
Can I please have a step by step on how to become a member so I can watch the Yellowstone reactions if that’s ok?
Steven could pull off the look, lol
Oz could have easily tossed Sofia in the car on his way out - I have no idea why he didn’t esp after his loyalty & trust talk lol
