You have to admit Colins love for Rhenzy did come through at the panel at ComicCon, I'm hoping the last scene of the series is Penguin is getting cornered by both families, and his last act is to get Victor out of trouble and sends him to California. Definitely the best panel of that Saturday.
I didn't click that it was flashback until seconds before it happened - got me gooood. This show is incredible, I'm stunned we saw that flood in that way, looked horrifying!
I suspect we’re going to find out that Carmine was the one strangling girls, and when Oz came to him he took the opportunity to pin it on Sofia. I think the hangman thing is them weaponizing our comics knowledge against us, making us simply accept on the surface that Sofia definitely killed those women. But the movie already *showed us* that Carmine was into that. I think it’s an absolute masterpiece of misdirection and lore weaponization.
@@ProjectMathesar It's obvious. The Batman made it known that Carmine was a strangler. The Russian girl, Selena's mother as well as Selena herself almost.
Yep we learned that Carmine choked at least two women to death in The Batman and he tried to do the same to Selina. I bet Sofia found out something about it, and Oz ratted her out to her dad, who pinned it on her

I feel like Oz wants Vic to see him as this gentleman gangster he looked up to as a kid. He literally took Vic from the street and kind of built him up a little, so Vic turning it all down probably made Oz feel like he isn't that generous gangster everyone loves, but just a criminal and that's why he's really pissed and hurt.

Had to look up where I'd seen the actor who plays Squid. His name is Jared Abrahamson, and he was main cast on a sci-fi show called Travelers, starring Eric McCormack.
Seeing the images of those drowned bodies being carried by the current in the club was unsettling - I can't tell if it was poor Vic hallucinating or part of some perverse visual montage at the club. None of those people by the sea wall had a chance... Really adds emphasis to how twisted the Riddler was; how in his personal campaign for "justice" and "retribution" he made so many more orphans, or wiped out entire families, just like that. But I'm relieved Vic's ex got out of Gotham, he's in the game now, he's made his choice and the consequences will follow. And the notion that Sofia took the fall for Carmine's sick crimes is wild. We know he had a dark history of murdering women by strangulation, I wonder if he was the true Hangman and saw an opportunity to get Sofia out of the way for her instability and take the heat off himself at the same time? Cristen Milioti plays Sofia so sharply, an equal to Farrell's brilliant Oz, for sure, but I feel she'll either explode or implode by the end of the season.
To know that, what we know is that they blamed Sophia, and Oz didn't know it and believed she should run. And she was guilty and unfortunately they threw her into Arkham. And just like Falcone himself, who in the events of The Batman, wanted to strangle Selina. And then it was learned that Sophia wanted to take into account what happened between Oz and her father.
Sophia is not crazy! She evacuates The Bliss from her body lol! I think the hanged killer is the penguin's mother! Because during the first 2 episodes, they want to make us believe that Sophia is crazy and we see the penguin's mother who is really crazy! And in the third episode, Sophia tells us that she is not this killer and we do not see the penguin's mother...
This episode was incredibly depressing so of course I loved it. When Penguin is sitting at the bar seething after his fight with Victor and being insulted by Sophia was hard to wactch. you can feel his pain. Also I was just thinking about what if Penguin gets sent to Arkham at the end of this season. Maybe even because of Sophia which would be a good bit of dramatic irony. I see the humanity in Oz if he goes to Arkham that bit of humanity would be repressed even more.
I knew she wasn't the Hangman after episode 1. The only moments of genuine shame you ever saw from Oz were in his interactions with Sofia. I knew he helped Falcone destroy her to protect himself. We learned in the Batman that Carmine enjoyed choking women to death. We even heard him do it once to Selina's roommate in a recording.
I would not be surprised at all that if come awards season Colin and Cristin completely clean up and win every award they’re nominated for. They’re both acting the shit out of this show!
I think Matt reeves will use the flooding as the origins/catalyst for the main villain of the next movie.. he could use it for multiple villains..just imagine if one of those vans exploded near victor freezes lab, which is what caused his accident whether the explosion blew out the windows of his lab n he falls into a vat of liquid nitrogen or something along those lines..it would be a missed opportunity not to use the riddlers attack and the aftermath the origin of a few villains big and small. All I kno is there are ALOT of lab accidents that could have happened, and other situations like victor losing his whole family is plenty reason for a person to turn "heel".
The flood, the steak frites, the plane ticket threat, the dance of the sales-pitch and the blackmail, the not-really-apology, the shell shock, the pep talks! Scene after scene HITS.
For all his faults, Oz's moral compas is locked into respect. He shows it and wants it. He only snaps when disrespected or defending someone else. And he's faster to defend others than himself..... for whatever that's worth. 😶😅
