I like the detail that this scene shows us that Oz is VERY physically strong, despite his disability. We saw it in episode one how he carried the body of a grown ass man but this is better because it shows if he wanted to, he could've ripped Viti's jaw open.
God, I love how they just sit there in silence during Oz’s big speech to Vic. They’re just taking in the incredible writing and fantastic acting from both actors.

Props to them man, they're def one of the best reactors in yt
I feel like Penguin was genuinely hurt during that scene with Vic. The fact that he was raised by a mother who he thinks actually would be proud to see what he's made, makes him honestly not see it from Vic's perspective. He lies and betrays people so frequently that he doesn't understand why Vic would be scared to leave in his position. The main 3 are written so well. Also, I love your mention of their disabilities binding them in their constant need to prove their worth. So good!!

I think the Maroni’s exposed him in front of Sofia. We only see Vic’s pov. They were standing up when the came, but by the time Vic got there they were on their knees at gun point. Plus Penguin wouldn’t have been dumb enough let Sofia hang just yet (if he wasn’t exposed) because she knows all the ins and outs about the new drug operation. Penguin would’ve wanted to gain more access.
In one episode I went from thinking that Victor was an OK character, to thinking that if anything happens to this kid and he doesn’t make it to the top with Oz, I’m going to absolutely flip out! Rhenzy Feliz is KILLING IT as Victor Aguilar! I especially love that they showed us from his point of view what the bombing of the sea wall looked like. And you can also see why he wants so much more out of life. He saw his father try and play and things fair and just settle for lower class. But Victor is tired of settling for scraps. He wants something more.
Yeah. And I like how the writers had Victor going back to Oz, his own choice. They didn’t have to kill off Victors gf, and have him go back to Oz as a way to get revenge.
The Hangman killed 7 women. Carmine had a thing for choking women(Selina's mom, Selina's friend, and almost Selina herself). 10 bucks says Carmine is actually the hangman.
Oz's relationship with Vic isn't 100% manipulation. A lot of those feelings are genuine. In the 1st scene of the first episode, when Oz was telling the story of the mobster who took care of everyone in the neighborhood: that mobster is exactly who Oz is trying to emulate. He wants to know and take care of people around him. But what we are also seeing is that circumstances keep calling for Oz to be an asshole; to look out for number one. That's the beauty of this show.
Genuine for how it serves Penguin, not Vic. He wants to be like that gangster he talked about, so yes he wants to be admired and revered by Vic but that's about it. None of this is good for Vic, it's a life of crime.
Its interesting that he just wants to be like the gangster he looked up to as a kid, successful but not necessarily owning or taking over the entire world. Because what can you really accomplish as a criminal in a world where batman and superman exist
We gotta remember Vic was already engaging in criminal activity before Oz ever found him. Not to this level for sure but it’s not like Vic was a completely innocent and random kid

@@crimsonghoul8983 About equal, I would think. Honestly, Black Mask is more like the Joker, with a different point of obsession (Bruce, instead of Batman). Penguin isn't driven to beat Batman; he just wants to be powerful, rich, and elite.
I gotta say, I LOVE Oz telling the waiter to let Vic finish. That's the most genuine frustration I feel like we've seen from him. Oz may be a manipulative POS, but he cares for Vic.
I think he didn't want to save Sofia because she already knows that he killed Alberto. It's obvious that Oz was "ratted out" / exposed by the wife of Sal. I believe that by the moment Vic ran over that dude the partnership between Oz and Sofia had already ended, so there was no practical value for Oz to save her.
Only reason I think Oz left Sofia at the end is because one of Maroni’s top dogs saying “Oz, you think you can play us” would immediately make Sofia piece everything together. That would make the situation even worse for him, both Falcone and Maroni turning against him in that moment,so he took his chance to leave tf out of there.
Victor seeing the explosion at Gotham’s seawalls instantly reminded me of how Kate Bishop saw the battle of New York in the first episode of the Hawkeye TV series.
26:40 he did not make life harder for himself, they were literally about to kill Sophia and Oz because of his two timing. You think Sophia would be fine after that just because Oz got her in the car? She was already on the fence ain’t no way she trusts him after that lady pulled up like that.
The fact that each episode is better than the last is so far impressive to me. This episode stands out as some of the best acting of this year! Emmy's for Farrell and Milioti, they are so good in this show. Shout out to Rhenzy Feliz who also have been killing it in his own way, did not how much depth they will give to his character but this episode made me really interested to see where his character will end up in all of this (My assumption is that he might get killed off by the end of this series, I can see that happening, I hope not but if they do kill him off I hope it done in the way that works for the character and the overall Penguin arch, because he does see Vic as a son he never had, he can relate to Vic, he sees him more than just his henchman). But everybody so far in this show have been good to great, the fact that this is a Limited Series tells me that this will be ranking up fast... This entire show feels like one big movie which it really is in a way. So things are going quick but it's done so well, props to Matt Reeves and everybody who worked on this show, this is a surprise hit as many including myself did not know for sure how this show will turn out, but so far I have nothing but high praise! Also, one thing I realised pretty quickly... When Vic took Oz's car that was his way of deciding which life he wants for himself, not that he was stealing it 😂 some people for some reason thought he is either stealing it or going to dry off with Graciela or something but it's clear as day that it was his way of deciding if he wants to stay with Oz and have a life that he feels he deserves and wants or have a life that is filled with questions, worries and uncertainity.
The reason Oz immediately left is because Vic hit the goon with the car, Alberto's murder was exposed to Sofia, meaning he didn't need her anymore. We'll probably see all the dialog playout at the start of the next episode
@@MrFredstt he was hurt out of ego, remember he wants to be remembered like the gangster who helped people. Victor wanting to get away breaks that illusion that he’s the gangster that people respect
Y’all not thinking about it.. if the other mob family showed up talking to Oz like they working together.. he can’t save Sophia now it’s too late his cover was blown being a double agent. But now I’m predicting Sophia and this other woman might work together since they both getting played by Oz
This show's got a way of being real and it hurts man. Penguin's wrong, but he makes sense even as we know he's manipulating Vic. Vic's feeling boxed in and like there's no good choice. I just hope he makes it out somehow by the end of the season. Reminds me of Nacho Varga might've kinda been early from BCS.
I think he totally meant what he said to Vic and was really sad when he left, but, at the same time, when push comes to shove he will abandon, throw him under the bus, or whack him if he feels he has to.
The excitement in Penguin's voice saying... "we in it now, Vic. we in it." shows have much he needed a guy who'd go through hell for him. shows so F*cking good, and it's only 3 episodes in
Pretty sure the reason Oz ditched her so fast afterwards is because while they were being held at gunpoint the Maroni woman was revealing Oz as a double agent so sofias trust was already destroyed and that’s why Oz decided to leave her. You can see them talking in the scene where Vic is pulling up and realizing what’s happening, we’re prob gonna see what happens next episode

Yea I would have been Vic in this situation, I didn’t even realize Oz was manipulating him until they said that and I was wondering why they were crying. I genuinely thought that Oz was just looking out for him and was actually buddies with him
I'm so glad yall were able to pick up on ozz's manipulation on victor. It seems that cause ozz is charismatic that some people forget that Vic has an actual honest to God reason to think he's being held hostage.... Because he was legit held at gunpoint. All this to say that it isn't like he doesn't care about Vic, he does, but he also doesn't let him forget that he's a merciless gangster that will kill people he shook hands with 5 secs ago if it gets him to the top
@@Nothimx11 he didn’t leave at the end because he’s now making the choice to stay. So anything that happens after this will be on him. BEFORE this though he thought he was an hostage…it’s pretty simple.
I think Oz genuinely cares for Vic in his own way, but not enough to spare his life if it meant giving up being a kingpin. His loyalty to Vic is shakey, more than he has for most, but he’s a villain at the end of the day.
It demonstrates how easily ppl get manipulated by charismatic ppl with power. That's how most tyrants and dictators come to power. Say some nice words and the average person will fall for it. I definitely don't think he cares about Vic, at least not in the way you are suggesting. Oz wants to be revered like that gangster he spoke about. That's how he sees Vic, someone to revere him and so he hates to lose that. He hasn't even told Vic that his friend is dead. The one Vics gf asked about. She said he went missing the same time Vic did....that's the kid Sofia killed when Oz said he was lying about seeing Oz at the club when her brother died. Vic saw the missing persons poster last episode and Oz hushed him away quickly. Levels of manipulation.
I don't think Oz actually knew that Vic would come back. They showed him sitting at the bar hurt for a reason. He felt alone again. He was hurt because he thought Vic was there because he wanted to be. He sees himself in Vic and it feels like when he speaks to him he's speaking to his younger self.
Penguin did not know he'd be back. He was for real hurt, manipulative as he is. Don't forget the opening scene, he told us his dream - he wants to be the "goog" gangster.
22:45 I don't think he was manipulating him here, he was telling him the reality of how it is. Very strong scene. Also I believe he left Sofia there because now she knows he's been working with the other family.

@@crimsonghoul8983 About equal, I would think. Honestly, Black Mask is more like the Joker, with a different point of obsession (Bruce, instead of Batman). Penguin isn't driven to beat Batman; he just wants to be powerful, rich, and elite.
No he's not.. sigh 🫠
😢😂we got no idea what the maroni's said while they had them at gun point so maybe he had to dip
I gotta say, I LOVE Oz telling the waiter to let Vic finish. That's the most genuine frustration I feel like we've seen from him. Oz may be a manipulative POS, but he cares for Vic.
I think the Maronis told Sofia the truth before Vic arrived. That's why Oz had to abandon her coz she'd kill him.
I am as addicted to this show as those club kids are to that new Bliss drug
Only reason I think Oz left Sofia at the end is because one of Maroni’s top dogs saying “Oz, you think you can play us” would immediately make Sofia piece everything together. That would make the situation even worse for him, both Falcone and Maroni turning against him in that moment,so he took his chance to leave tf out of there.
people can’t even write simple dialogue without someone spamming “that’s a death flag”.
BEST SHOW OF 2024 FALL ATM IMO.
P.S Y'ALL STAY SAFE THAT TORSNDO IN FLORIDA AIN'T NO JOKE
Until Arcane 😴
“How’s the fucking going, Johnny?” LOL😂LOL😂 that cracked me up
That bathroom scene wasn’t manipulation. Oz was genuinely hurt.
It was part manipulation but but genuine feelings as he DID want Vic to side with him to be the gangster he always wanted to be!
Oz was definitely manipulating Vic. But that scene where he yells at him was raw emotion. No more manipulation. And in the end Vic did choose to stay.
Victor seeing the explosion at Gotham’s seawalls instantly reminded me of how Kate Bishop saw the battle of New York in the first episode of the Hawkeye TV series.
Except that Hawkeye was ass apart from kingpin
@@htownrocket Hawkeye is much better than this show.
26:40 he did not make life harder for himself, they were literally about to kill Sophia and Oz because of his two timing. You think Sophia would be fine after that just because Oz got her in the car? She was already on the fence ain’t no way she trusts him after that lady pulled up like that.
This Penguin is one of the best examples of the make up as you gong along trope in fiction.
Im guessing he left sofia cuz he got exposed right there while vic was on his way
You're so talented, don't stop creating content!
Thank you
The fact that each episode is better than the last is so far impressive to me.
10:00 the ishowspeed meme took me out 😹
this is kind of off topic but the editing is so good, like the green screen bg and the way the episode is kinda faded is so nice
If ya noticed, the story structure of this show is Breaking Bad meets The Sopranos in Gotham City. This show is top 5, top 5, top 5!!!
The writing for this show is Top-tier.
The reason Oz immediately left is because Vic hit the goon with the car, Alberto's murder was exposed to Sofia, meaning he didn't need her anymore. We'll probably see all the dialog playout at the start of the next episode
Every word of Penguin is legit, fuck Batman Penguin is my hero now
Now it makes sense why Gotham villains be having goons 😂 Penguin manipulated you with you knowing he’s a manipulator
@@jaeloc1217 I actually don't think his convo with Vic was pure manipulation. I think he was genuinely hurt and doesn't understand Vic's perspective
lol Penguin is NOT at "hero" AT ALL, he's a full blown villain and Batman is NOT someone you should "f" at AT ALL. He's the hero ultimately.
@@jaeloc1217 who cares if I'm being manipulated by true words the facts, not lying shits
@@MrFredstt he was hurt out of ego, remember he wants to be remembered like the gangster who helped people. Victor wanting to get away breaks that illusion that he’s the gangster that people respect
The only way they can make the Penguin hateable before The Batman 2 is to have him kill Vic by the end of the show (pls don't do that)
Tbf, the reason why Penguin should've left Sofia behind is because she probably found out about his dealings with Maroni family.
Just one thing: Victor's a grown ass man, not some innocent baby that needs protection.
Thank you.
Colin Farrel is acting is ass off 🐐 🐐
Y’all not thinking about it.. if the other mob family showed up talking to Oz like they working together.. he can’t save Sophia now it’s too late his cover was blown being a double agent. But now I’m predicting Sophia and this other woman might work together since they both getting played by Oz
The penguin is such a complex character. I beleive that he really does care about Victor in a twisted way. There is no manipulation here
This show's got a way of being real and it hurts man. Penguin's wrong, but he makes sense even as we know he's manipulating Vic. Vic's feeling boxed in and like there's no good choice. I just hope he makes it out somehow by the end of the season. Reminds me of Nacho Varga might've kinda been early from BCS.
Oz left Sofia because she probably already knows everything. They talking about something when Vic show up.
W reaction, the analysis at the end was spot on. I had the same talk with myself after I watched this ep
I think he totally meant what he said to Vic and was really sad when he left, but, at the same time, when push comes to shove he will abandon, throw him under the bus, or whack him if he feels he has to.
25:25 I've never been more ashamed of Shera!
27:00 ROSHI!!!! EXCELLENT OBSERVATIN
30:00 Shera!!!!!! Stop!
9:55 😂😂😂😂😂😂
21:06 the crazy part is that Vic really could have left at any point.
•When Oswald was caught
•When he was left alone
•left alone in the car
Etc
So happy to be back watching you guys, you've been reacting to a lot of things i haven't watched yet, and I dont wanna be spoiled. You guys are probably my favorite react content when it comes to shows and movies. And btw Dune 2 when?
It's on patreon, they watched it some months back.
@@TheNoviceOAO Oh damn they never wanted to upload it to TH-cam.
Victor is so real
Riddler said all that was for the poor people in the Gotham city, and we see the result of it. This writing is just, so good.
The bombs and the flood is like the blip for the batman
Yea I would have been Vic in this situation, I didn’t even realize Oz was manipulating him until they said that and I was wondering why they were crying. I genuinely thought that Oz was just looking out for him and was actually buddies with him
great fuckin reaction! the restaurant and club scene is insane . . 10/10 show.
You know the scene powerful when Lupa get to crying 😭
I'm so glad yall were able to pick up on ozz's manipulation on victor. It seems that cause ozz is charismatic that some people forget that Vic has an actual honest to God reason to think he's being held hostage.... Because he was legit held at gunpoint. All this to say that it isn't like he doesn't care about Vic, he does, but he also doesn't let him forget that he's a merciless gangster that will kill people he shook hands with 5 secs ago if it gets him to the top
@@Nothimx11yes. At the end, but before that. He had no way of knowing because he was held at gunpoint.
@@TheKawaiikari If he sells him out or not depends on if he thinks of Vic as family by the end of the season. He doesn't fuck over family.
Vic was way too smooth with the cop he's already learning
The writing in this show...*chefs kiss*
This was a great way to tie in the Riddler stuff from The Batman movie - peak television
Hope you guys are staying safe during this hurricane! Peace!
I don't think Oz actually knew that Vic would come back. They showed him sitting at the bar hurt for a reason. He felt alone again. He was hurt because he thought Vic was there because he wanted to be. He sees himself in Vic and it feels like when he speaks to him he's speaking to his younger self.
Lowkey might be the best episode so far
18:58 Sheera said "she definitely concerned but she got thang on her too"
Bro the vid of the guy crying is literally my boy this is insane 🤣🤣
This show is the Gotham we deserve 😢.
And the WB arw expanding the Universe. W.
Oz will talk his way out of it. He is him.
Penguin: Let me show you how to trust me
*Immediately does the complete opposite*
Penguin did not know he'd be back. He was for real hurt, manipulative as he is. Don't forget the opening scene, he told us his dream - he wants to be the "goog" gangster.
Great character development of Vic in this ep.
25:24 , 26:30 yep😅
episode 3 was just sad vibes... in a good way but that ending was 😁💥
22:45 I don't think he was manipulating him here, he was telling him the reality of how it is. Very strong scene.
Also I believe he left Sofia there because now she knows he's been working with the other family.
@26:45 Roshi made an easy mistake.
It's been freaking me out how much I forget this Oz guy is THE PENGUIN
