    "you cannot make a viral video - all you can do is make a video." so obvious but true

      Not according to Jenny Hoyos, a brilliant little 18 yr old who cracked the code and figured out how to make anything go viral: th-cam.com/video/As7abwNhG7Y/w-d-xo.htmlsi=EL1H3l6uvrG3FJQs 🙂

      We had the same thought. At first I was like that's genius, but tbh I was biased because I saw Harvard in the title, but on a subconscious level I already knew that fact; so I ended up realizing it was a wise refresher. Sometimes we can get caught up in our fantasies in our head, but at the same time I believe in manifestation 😅 ya know?

    • @jessevanderhamm
      @jessevanderhamm 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      But if that’s true then why are some creators able to post a greater number of viral videos even though they make fewer videos and post less frequently than other creators? Obviously you can increase the frequency of making viral videos, which means, you can control that. It’s not like it’s just totally random which videos become viral. Some people will never make a viral video despite them being very prolific creators.

    • @kuya5k
      @kuya5k 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jessevanderhamm its not random but we still don't have control of it. the reason why is because its averages. i've had 5+ vids go viral on tiktok and 1 go decently well here on YT. you know the strategies of what appeases the algorithm the best and employ those strategies in hopes it does well but its not like we control the algorithm itself. the algorithm is the deciding factor. same reason why sometimes i'll repost the same video or make very slight tweaks and it'll perform better despite being the same content. if you have a good idea give it time and eventually it'll go viral but you can't choose specifically which video it'll be

    • @testtube173
      @testtube173 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Because it's not true at all. Maybe back in 2015 and before but as time marches on algorithms heavily dictate what people are allowed to see and when. Dr K is a manipulator and likes to appeal to people's ego to create a rapport then dumps a bunch of pseudo science to justify completely bogus claims like "you can't create a viral video" meanwhile Mr beast exists.@@jessevanderhamm

    Just something that bugs me when I watch you videos. I love your videos btw. But when you give little snips at the beginning of your video to engage viewers its awesome, but I get so frustrated when you censor the advices. Im already here, im already interested in the content, give me the little things censor free, so I know what it will be about before I go in. Theres so much information and these little things won't matter much, but the little advices beforehand will actually engage me more and make me watch the whole thing! Your videos are awesome and dont need this cheap engagement in the beginning to performe well! Best of luck on your channel.

    • @UlandthePelicanMan
      @UlandthePelicanMan หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don't know enough about this person to agree that they have wonderful videos but on the censor and pull in tactic I agree. Debating going through the video and editing out interviewer and putting together the bits where GG speaks and combining it into a video or audio file for myself. HealthyyGamerGG has some really wisdom and educational info that I need to go back over multiple times, that cheap censor at the start is scummy as hell from a psychological and viewer manipulation standpoint, I get it, but it shows magnitudes of colour in someone as a person. "Watch all of my video or you'll never know what amazing advice he gave in this interview". This is my first and last video I will watch on this channel because of that.

      If 10% of viewers stick around after a key point is given at the start but the other 90% just wanted that key point, that’s still just 10% retention you’re keeping which isn’t a recipe for success

    We needed this one! Hate comments can run havoc on your mind until you become numb to it. I stopped reading comments at this point for the most part outside of the 1st hour i post a video because those are usually supporters.

    "How do I ensure" - there must be millions of youtube videos that sell the idea if you do this, or that, and buy into their method, your success will be ensured. I really appreciate this video SO MUCH, as I have been uncomfortable with my initial approach, which was, when I was inspired, when I completed something I'd worked on, then I simply shared it, and my job would be done. There are so many voices shouting that you need to upload content on this schedule or in this manner, and I was starting to put pressure on myself to follow their advice and force myself to create as they recommend. Thus denying my natural inclination, where I simply enjoy the act of creation and share the end results, and move on. Even then stopping yourself from checking analytics every 5 minutes is *very difficult* lol. My point is, there is a wealth of perspective and wisdom in this interview. Thank you very much Jan and Dr K!

    There are too many voices right now trying to give advice to creators. This video is the anamoly. The exception. Fantastic stuff. Practical stuff. And I'm not being sold anything or fear alterior motives. Well done.

    I'm a content creator (dog trainer) that's grown a lot in the last year, and am struggling with the constant feedback. This video really hit home (especially about when/how to receive feedback). Thanks so much for this

    Great video as always Jay. Enlightening. As well, I find your channel interesting as your interviews do well. They are good. My interviews don't get views. So somehow I am getting those wrong I feel. Maybe I need to copy Jay's style. His advice is very zenlike or Buddhist I feel. Nice.

    I watched some of Dr K’s videos when I had to help a game addict.
    He has a lot of insights.

    Dr K.! I clicked so fast lol. I haven't actually seen ANY interviews or times with him featured on others' channels where he specifically talks about content creation, and I was just this morning watching another one of your interviews, and I know he's hinted at a fair amount of these content things on his own channel in interviews he conducts of other content creators and stuff but... this seems like an interesting thing to be picking his brain on when he really approaches TH-cam SO differently than most TH-camrs. And I love his channel so much. Will be watching this closely ;)
