I don't use an HX, but I've used mine with both an AxeFX Ultra and with BiasFX running on an old iMac. Both worked flawlessly. Hope that helps. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It looks like from the Meloaudio screen that the expression pedal only goes up to 126 instead of 127 which can be problematic for a whammy effect for instance. Am I seeing this right?

You just told what I've been hunting for - which "third party" expression pedal works with the device. But to be more precise - what Mission Engineering pedal did you use - SP1 or any other model?
Any expression pedal should work, you just need the right polarity. I have the Hotone Ampero Press and it does not work with a standard TRS to TRS cable. I made up a cable with TRS on one end and RTS on the other and it works fine
The old M-Audio expression pedals work great with these FYI. I'm using one that came with my old BlackBox Reloaded (don't judge), and the exp pedal not only has a rear compatibility switch , but also an adjustment pot. It also has two non-latching stomp switches (I swapped one to a latching to use as an amp channel control), and the amount of cable length provided is almost overkill, and would easily span from backline to stage front.
Just got one, brand new in its box for $90 dlls in a Goodwill Store. I have a Line 6 M5 and I'm trying it right now, so far it works fantastic, plug and play
I’ve had this pedal for about 3 years, does it’s job well. I got the matching expression pedal as well, and for a guy with a giant foot, I love it like I would a whammy or cry baby pedal. I ise it live with BiasFX 2 mobile. Programming was easy.
how about controlling 2 devices at onece?......lets say u wanna add a TC X 3 and wanna change a line 6 patch and change a board on the TC at the same time..

This was an awesome video. In particular, I have been wondering about getting this instead of the more expensive Morningstar Engineering controller. My main hesitation is it's hard to tell from the manual if the midi commander could access the Stomp's looper functions. Any opinions on that?

I just discovered this video 4 years later :) and It helped me a lot!! I´ve got both HxStomp and Midi Comander, I managed to use the CC to put On/Off any block, but cant get HxStompPreset to change, even though I´m on the Cus-1 mode like Xavier on the video. Any Ideas?

just a followup since a couple of people gave thumbs up to this comment, it does not ok at all the way i hoped. the buttons on top never update with new midi msg when changing the banks, and if u actually change the switches to send CC msgs instead of PC then it wont even update the bottom switcher either. If banks of CC is what u need then this box will only give you ONE page with 8 switches/msg. its a shame, the price is great and it looks good. Also the switches itself are quite cheap, they have a raspy feel and quite noisy followed by a spring sound.

Stekof the CC numbers are only important as for you to build your own logic on it, they dont have individual meaning. That being said ableton live, DAWs and pluggings might have reserved some of these numbers for its own internal application or similar, you could check that on an application base in their respective manuals, for ableton i dont remember ever having any conflicted numbers, but since they also have their own proprietary midi controllers, there might be some restrictions. As for the the 0 to 127 values, if you only have 2 options (0 and 127) that can be translated as ON and OFF, so it works for a switch or a button (the latter could also use 1 value only, you usually just press it once, or you could press it on and then a second press off) now if you wanted to control a knob for example, a volume knob, then you would want to have not only 0 and 127, but all the other whole numbers in between, so you can adjust the volume on an incremental way rather than just turn it on and off. A midi volume pedal or wahwah would give you that, the values increase or decrease as you swing the pedal forward or backwards. Hope this helps!

Does anyone know if i can get this midi switch, plug it in my blackstar (which has midi input) assign 4 channels to 4 switches, and then assign the rest of midi switches to turn on and off amp built in affects. That way i could have all my channels and assign individual effects at will?
The pursuit of flexibility leads one down an ever increasing time consuming list of tasks to learn.Wondering what is the most bone dry simple midi pedal switcher allowing access to at least 3 presets on the fly.
Regarding compatibility with HX Stomp, Its a shame the only possible MIDI CC messages are with value 0 or 64 (instead of the typical range 0 to 127). So no Snapshot Recall, and no value change in Effects. Such a bad design... I could gig with HX Stomp and this Meloaudio MIDI controller alone, and part ways with all my other gear.... Hope they can update the firmware sometime soon... great video, BTW
this would work great for me, but the only reason I didn't buy it was because it can't be powered my my power source. I don't really want to remove my pedals from the board to replace batteries. I hope they change that.

Is there way to programming directly a PC-CC instruction and any way to switch directly snapshot which is numbered as 0, 1, 2. Also as a user of HX stomp, it can't use the two foots witches on FS-6, (e.g. one to function as forward page)
Has anyone opened this thing up? I can’t find any videos. My foot switches came loose and I’d like to tighten them.. but opening it up, you notice right away that those switches aren’t your standard version. Inside, you have a little black button that is soldered to the board, and then the housing for the board has the foot switches attached with a spring extending downward to press the little button inside. It’s the damned nut that is completely covered with a piece of black plastic that holds the led light in place (real hard to explain) sealed with glue.. I guess a heat gun.. right? I just didn’t feel like doin more than screwing today. Pun intended.. Guess I’ll have to get the heat gun 😢 Last edit. The switch is called a momentary pcb spring switch. I guess it may be easier to maintain making the switch two pieces instead of one
i guess its limited in custom host mode. i was wondering the same thing.. so in your case say using it with bias fx or amplitube were you getting 32 banks?
I literally bought this because of this video. When it arrived nothing worked and I can't figure out how to program it. Every button does nothing. Also I wish this video was filmed 1 fucking pixel to the left so I can see what midi port he plugged into. But ya know? Expression pedal in frame is more important.
@@WarrenBey I wouldn't say that the video is misleading since he's just showing how you could use this Midi Board in your rig, but maybe you have something turned off in the Global Settings under Midi? He says at the beginning of the video that it worked out of the box as soon as he plugged it in. I use a Midi Moose Controller and it too just worked automatically.

Yes. I think they've fixed it, as I just bought the meloaudio midi commander and expression pedal. Works perfectly (0-127)

As long as your rack effects can be switched on/off with CC messages, yes absolutely.

Foot control configured to Whammy does not quite get to full octave, which is annoying.

Question for Axe Fx 2 users: while in Axe Fx mode, is it possible to assign buttons 1-4 to any CC, or is that only possible in Custom mode?

hi..does it work on headrush gigboard?
it doesn't work because midi comander doesn't have momentary swithcing which is needed for the Gigboard. I use a Source audio Soleman and works great!

wrong polarity with the expression pedal would explain the behavior with the dunlop

Plug it into the Midi IN on your Line 6 HX Stomp and it should work automatically.

It's a footswitch. Did not use foot to trigger once.
