If there’s anything to say about Husqvarna is that you with get a bulletproof saw that will work for life. I have ran 372 XP for 40 years. They always have been reliable and easy to work on And you can find parts easily. But that only when it comes down to commercial grade chainsaws. But not all Husqvarna’s are good for example all the chainsaws they at Home Depot for homeowners are lemons. If you’re gonna buy a Husqvarna save your money and buy commercial chainsaw. Awesome video buckin 👍
I've had my 572XP for a few years now and love it. Can be a bit heavy, been running the regular husky 28" bar and looking to put a light weight 24" on soon. Everything is so well thought out on the husky XP's - the captive fuel and oil caps, the choke, ergononics and anti-vibe system and starting procedure. Those west coast bars are tempting! That saw really gets a new life after it's broken after a few tanks.

Hi Buckin', love your videos. I'm a log home builder in the okanagan and run husky my whole life. This 572 is totally redesigned, bore went from 50mm to 48mm, stroke went from 36mm to 39mm and they put the crank bearings from the 385/390 in these new saws. Not sure if you know, this saw replaced the 576, its got more hp and torque over the 576.
Bought a 572xp 2 years ago as my first "real" saw for falling and its been an incredibly reliable and great saw. I prefer it over my 562, even though its a bit heavier
Just bought a new xp 572 today. 28 inch bar. Got a few cuts in on the woodpile before dark. Just frekin beautiful . If it came with a headlight i probabley would still be cutting wood tonight.. lol . I am looking forward to the bush tomorrow. Trees are gonna fall. woohoo.
I have the exact same saw. I love it. I did not always love it, I started to hate it. I do a lot of bucking full sized trees, one right after the other. After my saw would get hot and I turned it off I could not restart it. It would not prime and some times the fuel would boil inside the fuel tank. Now I just prime it before shutting it off. Sometimes I prime it until it dies and now its starts every time even when it is hot. That is no problem for me. I have a 28" on it now but I bought a 32" for limbing because I have some back issues and the longer bar allows me to stand upright. This is the best saw I have ever used and I am 59 and started cutting when I was 16. The heated grip is great if you cut a lot in the severe cold. PEACE.
I got the Husqvarna 445 and it is plenty strong. It have used that for firewood the last 10-15 years, plus running a small firewood business in the winter. I have abused that little sucker in every way and when it got a little tired I bought another one. Now i keep the old saw as a backup and for emergency spare parts. That have saved me many many times.
Stihl 462 is a worthy contender to that 572. Performs beautifully limbing or dogged in. From a size and weight perspective it has the 572 whipped (Stihl: 13.2 lbs, 72.2 cc's, 6bhp stock/ Husky 14.5lbs, 71cc's, 5.8hp). I remember you liked running it when you were down at your Pop's place. Ripsaw, let's get Buckin' a ported 462!!
The 462 will rev higher then the 500. If you have the same sprocket on and the 461 can reach maximum revs it will beat the 500. However if your cutting bigger logs with a longer bar the 500 will win. Both great saws. It is also possible to increase a tooth on the 500 with a shorter bar which will make it win every time. It was a trick some guys would use on 660-661s with shorter bars.
I've had my 572XP for 2 years now. It actually does the work of three 455 Rancher. I do also have a 455 Rancher and it was the primary saw that did most of the felling and bucking between my dads CS590 and my uncle's 455 Rancher. Which was about 65% of the work. My 572 now does 85% of the work between 3 saws. I am looking into getting a Husqvarna 585 but installing the piston and cylinder form the 592XP. Hoep to see more of the 572XP RIPSAW. TThanks for showing us yer new saw!
Nice saw Buckin’!! I got a 592 xp g last year. Put a full wrap just like yours on it. 36” lightweight. Love it! Only thing is you need to reset the auto tune if it sits a while. 5 long passes down a log at full throttle holding the saw at a 45 degree angle. She’ll sound better
Husky vs Stihl is one of those things. I can only comment that here in Australia, we have Stihl shops and there are Husky dealers - no Husky shops. When I bought my Stihl, the shop had everything I wanted to change on the shelf and we did a this-for-that swapsies, crediting back the stock gear at parts prices and adding the extras as we went. I left within the hour with a new, genuine saw, built and demonstrated. Done. Go to a Husky dealer and you buy the whole stock saw, then they order the part you want to change. There mightn't be much between the saws in terms of "performance", but the parts and support is what does it for me. Let's get back to the video 🤙
That’s an amazing machine. My little 455 Rancher works great for what I need at the moment, but when the kids move out and we downgrade our house size and upgrade our property, I might need to ask Santa for one of these.
Hold it to the boards! But under load, its gas pressure that forces rings to seat. How do we create an environment that promotes this? RPM & load. The bearings will soften up with time.
I have six chainsaws and I cut firewood from around my property to heat my home. I just picked up the 592xp, it's as little bit bigger and stronger than the one you have but not by much. I have to say it's the most dangerous saw I've ever used. I was doing the same thing, trying to cut 'smaller' logs using the tip with my foot on the log. I found it works better if you get down low and bring the log right up to the engine right by the teeth, much safer that way. Have fun and be careful!
I wish I still had my grandfather's 2-man McCulloch chainsaw. He was a wiry old guy who carried and ran it all by himself. He had his own woodlot where we'd go every fall to get the seasons firewood. We'd fell the trees with a Homelite and then he'd cut it all to length with his 2-man chainsaw while I loaded it into the trailer which had been made from the box end of a 1930's pick-up truck.
Gudday Buckin Wen I was doing firewood , I had my chain breaker on a bench with a nail at the other end with all the different lengths of bars I used marked on the bench, drag it out put on nail mark the length needed them break . Quick & easy mate . I'm husky for life and the 300 year badge on my 2101 xp is the bomb . Love your channel
I'm 60, been a firewood, logger and now 1 man tree service guy for about 30 years. Never been injured in any way ,but I've been VERY close to it. Most if my close calls are from limbing a felled large pine or fir walking through a jungle of BIG overhead limbs with a small limbing saw " after" letting off the gas and then grabbing a limb with one hand while lowering the saw down with the other hand while it's still spinning down and " zip " i cut my chaps or my hard plastic knee pads. Most close call come when I'm tired, sweaty and sore
My favorite orange saws are 281/288XP and 395XP. Been considering experimenting w/ the 500 generation AutoTune saws, but have been reluctant. Hope to see more vids of you breaking in and using the 572 to get your honest take on whether migrating to the new stuff is really worth it.
Hey buddy- in a previous video you showed how the new 572xp does not like to lie on its side (for fueling), I think there’s an easy fix for that. All you need to do is change the center of gravity. Not by adding weight, but by moving the pivot point about half an inch toward the heavy side. I’ll try to put a video together on this 👍
One of our customers got a ported 572 from us and sent pics cutting 4'+ hard maple. That stuffs extremely hard cutting and he said the saw handled it awesome
I do about 2 bushcord of hardwood a year. My 445 was a little too light for the heavy trunk cuts. I bought a Rancher 455 great for the trunk but a little too heavy for limbing/pruning. I think one needs 2 saws: light and heavy. Added bonus if one gets stuck you don't have to embarrassly ask to borrow the neighbours ha ha
I haven't cut wood in 20 years, last log was around a 36" foot fir, firewood, in the snow, bush.. I miss it a LOT! windfall, fell across an access road and it was cut and shoved off to the side, I got it out of the way and opened up the road more, got a few very nice chopping blocks for my efforts too, my little McCullough chain saw with a 32" blade, lol.. made quick work out of it tho, about 18 feet of it in a few hours, chopped and stacked in the truck, cord n half, old first growth burned so nice got me n' my dad thru a few winters in the cook stove .. miss it, dunno where any of my cut gear is? axes, had 10 or so, chain saws, sharpeners, wedges, everything, dunno what happened to any of it? pretty sure it all got jacked and left here and there, borrowed never returned, the saw it just ended up missing.. I believe the axes or most are at my cousins or buddies house? hale I dunno
Husqvarna is a great brand. Don’t have one of their chainsaws but do have zero turn mower from husky. Love it, you can’t go wrong with their equipment.
I'm a Stihl guy mostly because I have a dealer close by and the closest Husky dealer is more than an hour away. I have nothing against Husky, except I really don't like having the outboard clutch and the brake in the cover. I can access the needle bearings for inspection and greasing and change the sprocket on the Stihl's much easier than it is on the Husky's and even replacing the chain is easier. That RipSaw 500i is a bucket list item for me.
Love my 572xp and the 550xp… great out of the box saws… however… a tuned one like this is on another level… not many shops like Ripsaw in the UK though…
XP-G!?!? Thank goodness. The big dog can keep those hands warm and pretty even in extreme cold! Look at those mitts. Coulda been a hand model! Keep it real Buckin’! Love your videos.
I love these video posts you make! I been too busy here since winter set in chopping but all in all satisfied. You may get negative comments about saws but to each their own, if it works why make any negative comments on this awesome channel this guy knows his equipment. As I mentioned before I still use my 80's Homelite SuperXL and I love it, my backup bday present MS250 is still in the box. Lately I been cutting with my 3.5' MADE IN 🇺🇸 crosscut manual saw and I make do. Its because I'm paying $8.50 a gallon for fuel soo... all good im gaining more muscle and chopping wood is my thing. Woodstoves are a must have here and I love my crosscut manual saw also giving my Homelite a break, most people complain about the weight and my direct answer is "My saw is not for everyone." Cheers!

Thank you for making these videos billy, your inspirational, your positive just an A+ human being! I think most people see someone like yourself that has been running a powersaw for many years and they think I can do that to and get themselves into trouble. Running a powersaw has a learning curve especially learning how to read the trees. Keep it up
Ok if you like husky, polen is part of the brand as well as the quickly saw but thats more concreat saw. I bought a 250cc polan with a 20" bar on it. When I first got it it ripped threw logs fast it a forester type blade on it. I loned it out the guy droped it 12' out of a tree bent the bar and replaced it and the chain It doesn't cut like it did anymore its not as aggressive as it was when I bought it new. He also lost my owners manual and all the paperwork. Whats a good chain to cut hardwoods in the midwest type trees.
Sir I'm new to chainsaw. Just to cut down a rather small regular trees around the house. I think its time for me to upgrade my tools skills. Husq is my first go.
I've only ever ran Stihls with our work due to the low vibrations they produce. But the old timer's say if you want raw power always catch yourself a Husky young lad.
I've been thinking about the 572xp. I recently started working for a company that clears trees for the power company. I sometimes will be felling trees, clearing brush and whatnot. I'm thinking about going with the 12 inch echo for when I'm up in the bucket a medium saw for intermediate use like an ms311 or 362 and a big saw for felling trees like the 572xp or the ms462.
Wow Buckin'! It's been a minute since I last checked in. Your intro fell was outstanding. I had to use both hands to scoop my jaw off the desk at work. Keep it up. Stay safe and happy.
We have both husky and stihl at work. The kill switch ergonomics on a stihl is enough for me not to run one. My hand just isn’t big enough to use the back of my thumb to push it up, or whatever you’re supposed to do. I have to reposition my hand on the saw to do it. My husky is just right there with a small push down movement. The trigger squeeze to use the choke also seems like an extra step. That’s two extra things to do. The stihl 261 works fine, but I’ll always go for the 550xp, just because of the controls setup.
For me Ergonomics is everything. Especially when you're running a saw and felling 40ft plus trees, then have to climb on top of them or crawl under them to get to a cutting position. The pines I cut sometimes have a 36" diameter; the one's that have a larger diameter will have to wait until I get a Husqvarna 585.
Excuse me while I fug this log! Nice saw man! I e been eyeballing that saw in northern tool and tractor supply. I've been running a 455 for almost 15 years just raised compression on a stock bore it's pretty rowdy now for the size.

Trees are gonna fall. woohoo.
Ya may have a patent there bud... A headlight on a saw I'd buy one immediately 🤣🤣🤣😎😎👍👍👍
PEACE.
Just curious , for any two stroke does choking pre stop help the life of the engine . It might avoid dry bore start
That have saved me many many times.
ohh and the original husqvarna chains is definitely wort it
Stihl 462 is a worthy contender to that 572.
The 461 was/is a better saw. Touch less HP than the 462 but noticeably more torque.
@@lukereynolds9907 He actually did like it when he ran it. In fact, at the time he said it was a problem for the 500i.
@@wednesdar452he was going off of sound, in my opinion.
Husky man here just bought a 545 to cut firewood and maintain my property absolutely love it!!!!
Don't forget to ask Donny about setting the auto tune carb when you first start it. It makes a big difference !
My last saw I acquired was the 572XP.......LOVE it!!! I used to think my 281 XP was a beast but this one is even beastier! LOVE the Huskies!
Hi Buckin, You will enjoy the 572, and your right a pipe will make a big difference. It did on mine.
That saw is nice, I bought a 550 xp mark ii a few years back & it is so nice to run, have a great time with it!!
I have one too! Great saw. I got a 592 xp g last summer, put a 36” lightweight bar on it. Love it!
They sing
Hold it to the boards! But under load, its gas pressure that forces rings to seat. How do we create an environment that promotes this? RPM & load. The bearings will soften up with time.
Nice work Ripsaw and Buckin. Love the first cuts. Full House rock. Thank you Buckin. 🌲❤️🌲👊🪓
I'm about 4-6 weeks out from getting my 372xp back from rip saw. I can't freaking wait.
Oh yeah buddy x tork?
The x-tork ruined the 372 hopefully it's the original, my first ever saw was original 372, now im 572 560 and the goat 390xp
Embrace how many people you teach with your knowledge, even if it's at the expense of sponsors, as long as they're honestly reviewed! send it man!
By far my favorite Buckin episode!
Gudday Buckin
Wen I was doing firewood ,
I had my chain breaker on a bench with a nail at the other end with all the different lengths of bars I used marked on the bench, drag it out put on nail mark the length needed them break .
We had to invent the wheel someday someway
Using 550xp since 2014 without any issues whatsoever. Just get one, you will see😊
why wood you migrate when you have both brother 😁
I have a 550 and 572 and love them.
That trick to untangle the chain was fantastic! You have saved minutes of my life my friend.
Like always since I began watching.1000 subscribers ago...unwavering quality content. Hands down! Thank you !
Beautiful saw! Good to see appreciation for well made saws, axes etc. Love the videos
Love The New Custom Blade, The Saw - Let 'Er Sing B.R. Every-1 Have A Wonderful Day ! Prayers For All Here ! ATB T God Bless
Been running a 572 for three years love it.
Unreal. That might be the best sounding saw I have heard on this channel. NICE
My dad used to always prove to me how sharp his knives were by shaving a spot on his arm. I miss that thanks for reminding me
Husqvarna is a great brand. Don’t have one of their chainsaws but do have zero turn mower from husky. Love it, you can’t go wrong with their equipment.
Chains definitely cut better as you file and love my husky's been running them since the early 90's
When you get that chain dialed exactly where you want, it feels great. It's almost painful when you find metal or rock in the cut.
That 572xp is by far my favorite chainsaw ever! By far!
Nice
I bought the 572xp about 8 months ago and it is by far my favorite of all I've owned, borrowed or ran. Next is the 550xp mk ii, then maybe the 592.
Try a JRed 2253 or 2260,
Same!!! Going same order as you! Except I've had my 572xp awhile.
Bought my Husqvarna 572 XP back in 2019. I also doctor the chain to make it cut like I want. Great saw.
Good to see buckin getting some perks from these companies, if anyone deserves it, its big buckin fs
Love my 572xp and the 550xp… great out of the box saws… however… a tuned one like this is on another level… not many shops like Ripsaw in the UK though…
my buddy has a fella if ya like
@@BuckinBillyRaySmith in the UK? Who’s that please?
I cant speak on the husky saws from ripsaw but I can speak on the 400c from ripsaw its an absolute animal for its size 67cc they did an a top tier build on it. Thank u 4 all u do brother.
Thats the feelin' u should have after running a 2023 state if the art Pro saw from a 300+ y\o company. It should IMPRESS a seasoned user. Many new pro saws fall short of this mark today.
most expensive port job ive ever seen though, the price of another saw. seems to run pretty good, but I'm curious why so expensive.
I been running a 500i sence spring cutting timber in South western Virginia and I'm telling you I like it it holding up well and I aunt had a problem 1 with it my only complaint is the air filter has to be cleaned more often then the ms660 or ms460
Coffee + Donuts + Buckin' Billy Ray video = Perfect Saturday Morning
Have you tried the husky xcut chain c83 or c85 if not you have to try it I think its better than Oregon EXL. I'd like to hear your opinion.
Billy's grin after he started that saw was so damn genuine I couldn't help but giggle. I'm glad to know I'm not alone in how giddy I get when new tools arrive
Hi Buckin!! Being a leader is good but I'm going to follow your lead your a good man Buckin thanks for changing my life!!
your a good man
Love this guys attitude. Wish I knew people like him.
you will friend ,, teach them how to treat you ..with love
Finally this saw gets some recognition! 10 years ago it was the best 70cc ground saw by a country mile.
10 I thought it came out like 3 4 years ago.
@@austindenotter19 so do most
Buckin, that’s a great saw you’re working with love your laughter ❤🪵👍🇨🇦😊
Good ta see ya todd
thats a hell of a saw buckin. that knife is pretty wonderful too. very cool to hear your in depth thoughts on what makes a saw great. I still miss the old 10/10s sometimes but these things sure do rip and tear
they will always be here friend
I’ve been eying a 572xp for a couple years now. My go to is a 550xp and that does 90% of what I need. But man the seventy two would be nice for the bigger stuff every now and then. I don’t saw enough to really need it… but… love the Chanel
Uncle buckin.i have 61 hasqvarna saw and im running it for 3 years and power is still alive. 🎉
very good you must be good at it
@@BuckinBillyRaySmith 18 years of tree cutting .some tough trees .butt there is something about the setup to cutt a tree thats so awesome. Or its just me.
3rd pull! That smile says it all!. Great video buddy.
Shes a ripper!! Nice work Ripsaw
Hey buckin really enjoying the videos. I have a 372 xp that has been used hard and not takin care of like needs to be. It was gifted to me by a good friend @ TC sawmills. I am wanting to send it to get “freshened up” and running RIGHT !!! It’s not an everyday saw but when I need it I need it, and not to mention I’m into hot rods and horsepower. Lol. I’ve heard you mention Iron Horse, Ripsaw, and one one other. I’m down here in south MS and trying to get a little sawmill business up and running.
the only recommendation I have is Ripsaw as a legitimate business , But dont believe their takin' used saws. everyone needs boards buddy good luck
I guarantee it Matt Mann. If anybody knows power saws it’s Buckin!!!! Love the channel
Good afternoon Buckin
hope you are having a great day and staying cool. Got may shirt and decals came today. Very high quality. Have a great weekend
Thank you for saying so friend. Most importantly, thx for the choice to be kind to me . It will be met with the same 😊
I run a 572xp and 550xp mk2 and love them both, have modded the mufflers on both and it made a noticeable difference.
What muffler mod do you use on the 550 mkII?
@@TheGreatTed drilled a hole through the baffle pipe and enlarged the exit hole, nothing major but certainly made it flow better.
Purchased me a small MS194 along with a 14" bar yesterday. Cheers Buckn your inspiring dude
glad yer here friend
462c > 572xp. I loved my 572xp. But honestly the weight savings of the Stihl gives it the edge. 462c also cuts a little faster as well.
Can you please teach more about the rake I believe you called it please? Also can you tell us what brand files your using when you can please! Thank you for making these videos billy, your inspirational, your positive just an A+ human being! I was in a dark place with depression after a serious snowmobile accident and one day god led me to one of your videos on axes and I said to myself "huh i have a old axe from my pépé I should learn how to sharpen it instead of using cheap ones. which I found out was made in my home town between 100- 150 years ago(the years they were open). That video started my love for axes and your channel!! I proceeded to watch EVERY SINGLE video you made including your shorts lol your positive, respectful attitude helped me change my life around, THANK YOU!! Keep on BUCKIN!
I think most people see someone like yourself that has been running a powersaw for many years and they think I can do that to and get themselves into trouble. Running a powersaw has a learning curve especially learning how to read the trees. Keep it up
I swear there's a :-) in that big round that you were cutting on!
Great saw I hope it serves you well buckin
MS 381 STIHL the best chainsaw i have ever owned, i used it over 10 years have only rebuild it once and still kicking down like a baby
Ok if you like husky, polen is part of the brand as well as the quickly saw but thats more concreat saw.
I bought a 250cc polan with a 20" bar on it. When I first got it it ripped threw logs fast it a forester type blade on it.
I loned it out the guy droped it 12' out of a tree bent the bar and replaced it and the chain
It doesn't cut like it did anymore its not as aggressive as it was when I bought it new. He also lost my owners manual and all the paperwork.
Whats a good chain to cut hardwoods in the midwest type trees.
Nice to see a hucky. Keep her sharp what ever the brand and she will see you right. I love that chain to. 👍
More saws more better; buy them all, plus back ups
Wow Buckin'! It's been a minute since I last checked in. Your intro fell was outstanding. I had to use both hands to scoop my jaw off the desk at work. Keep it up. Stay safe and happy.
A super awesome piece of machinery Buckin’!! Can’t wait to see what it does with a pipe!! Wahoo!!
Me too
We have both husky and stihl at work.
