4-Week Total Body Makeover Challenge (Lose 8 Pounds!)

  • Please READ this box for more info. Happy New Year! To kickstart this new year, let's all commit ourselves to staying active for at least 15mins, 6 days a week. So, I've got a "4-Week Total Body Makeover Challenge" for you.
    5 minutes - Cardio
    4 Minutes - Lower Body Strength
    3 Minutes - Abs
    2 Minutes - Upper Body Strength
    1 Minute - Plank
    This is your challenge to help you stay active 6 days a week for 15mins. If you would like to turn this 15mins challenge into a full workout, you can do 2 sets for beginners, and 3 sets for those of you who are more advance.
    This will then be an effective 30 -- 45mins of total body workout to burn calories & tone up. Rest for 3-5mins between sets. If you are looking to lose weight and you stay committed to this challenge together with a healthy & balance diet, you can aim at losing between 4-8 pounds in 4 weeks.
    For those of you who are new to exercising, please modify the workouts for an easier version (remove the jumps) and take it at your own pace.
    I wore my Heart Rate Monitor during the workout and burned 135Cals in 15mins. That's based on my height of 159cm & weight of 49kgs. The heavier you are the more you will burn, the lighter you are, the less you will burn.
    So start the year right and make this your commitment this month. All the best! x

      I know right I love how her workouts are difficult to a certain degree but still doable and i also like how with her workouts you don't need any extra gym equipment except weights and a simple yoga mat.

    This workout is the best !! I repeated this workout 2 times and cardio one more time at the end ... I burned 300 kcal for 30 min and 13g of fat.. In next 30-40 mins after workout i have still burning kcal ...and actually i can't count them :D .. ** 450 kcal and 17,2g fat ** .. Keep going everyone , it's just great feeling ;)

    This is a great video! My legs already feel tighter and I am gettingna line down my stomach (lol) I didn't know you could get such results after one day....I did over do it yestraday after doing this workout I went for a long walk with my friends and later on did yoga. Very tired today, but ready to work :)

    Hi Joanna, I consume wholegrain bread as my main carbs for now, I mean like most of the time I eat a whole wheat toast for my carbs especially on my lunch and dinner. I heard that bread is high in sodium that can cause water retentation to our body. Is it true?

    For 4 weeks I lost 2 pounds. Maybe it is because I ate a few times bad food and my metabolism is really bad, but I don't rush for anywhere and I love this workout. It is really working, but for me the result was a little bit smaller.

    This is an intensive and great workout. My thighs and arms are (almost) dying while I was doing this workout. But I still survived! :P

    I absolutely love how she guides us through it thoroughly and completes them with us. She doesn't make it look like its easy, because it honestly isn't always easy. I love her workouts and I have decided to workout to make myself feel strong and healthy. :)

      I work out everyday (except for saturdays and sundays) for 1 to 2 hours. I use this vid and Joanna's other vid titled "30 mins cardio and core interval". I do 2 to 3 sets each. :D

    have pity on us mere mortals, Joanna! in fact, I think you're actually a dragon in human disguise. as per my first comment, many months now past, you're the greatest. I think I'd just recently turned 51 when I thought to myself, "I have got to get my thin arsed-bald head back to my youthful vigor." so, I turned to you. now that I'm fifty-three, and spending lots more time at the computer preparing for my cc geography course discussions, I need to have you kick my butt even more regularly.
    this workout is one of my favorites. reminds me how I used to rip around like a human sports car in my twenties and thirties. needless to say, I loved calisthenics. now, I also have the descriptors fear, loathe and must-conquer to add to my adoration of jumping-jacks, mountain climbers and push ups. how lucky am I?
    thanks for all your effort and energy. what an asset you are to those of us who treasure you.

      +Isa Salahawnt This workout should be fine for you, but because you are still young it's best that you take your time with higher level workouts and that you are taking a couple of days to rest and recover from workouts so that you don't damage your body. :) hope this helps, good luck on your journey! It's great that you are picking up good habits at such a young age!

      Sonia List No of course you are not too young to workout. Exercising at any age is perfectly fine, but like I said before make sure you get plenty of rest and don't work out your body too hard to the point where it starts to hurt. Make sure you have someone with you to see if you do the workouts correct. And that is very good that you lost the weight and are healthy! Great job keep going :)

      Kanchi Kadam Hi, I did other workout videos too and I would exercise on the morning when I woke up, I also did the squat challenge up to two times daily, but sometimes I would only do it once, if I was tired. I also exercised on the evening and limited calorie intake to 1350. I drank only water and would drink 3 cups of green tea daily and I ate clean too :3 I hope this helps and all the best :3

    I started the 4 week total body make over challenge with Joanna yesterday. Today seemed a lot easier than yesterday but as a new beginner and 155 pounds I am still struggling with some of the things like planks and push ups. I hope to see major results in 4 weeks. I think ill do 2 weeks of the 1 round and then following 2 weeks ill do 2 rounds of the whole workout. Then 3 rounds for the following 4 weeks.
    I have booked a 7 day cruise on October 4th and I am super excited to go on my trip and very excited to see my results.
    I am also doing the beach body challenge and the squats challenge as well so I should see very good results in 4 weeks. Ill report back in a week!

    I was absolutely drenched in sweat and what a way to start the day! Love that it's only 15 minutes and if you wake up a 30 minutes early everyday you could fit this into your day.

    I have been doing this workout for three weeks😌 just last week to go. I gained 400g weight BUT ALSO LOST 1,2 OR ALSO 3 INCHES. THIS WORKOUT IS SO EFFECTIVE GUYS. DEFINATELY DO THIS IF U WANNA LOSE SOME INCHES AROUND 🙃

    Thank you so much. Im 17 and after something that happened that is now left in the past, that person changed me and now i have had a complete mind set and changem ive always been kver weight my whole live but thank goodness ive never had to deal with bullying, but either way ihad no confidence in myself until the turn of events. I was and AM determined, and motivated for what is ahead of me in my weight loss. I never been into junk food or anything sugary and ive always loved excersizing but inever did it for actual weight loss. On My First Month Of June 14 istarted dieting and did month One of your excersizes. Ilost 27lbs and am completely satisfied. I am now a couple lbs down do reach UNDER 200lbs and reaching my dream weight . I am currently on my month 2 and . Ive BARELY lost 2 lbs on my first week. I just now realized that because I dont dl different excersizes my body got use to it and now I cant target my weigh loss desired weight. I started month 2 to switch up my workouts and I can already see results. Lets just hope I can lose another 27+ lbs . Thank you SO Much

    just finished my first day of this routine and i'm totally tired, sweating, my heart beats faster and my thighs are dying! however, not all exercises i'm able to do because i'm trying to catch my breath thus i've skipped some exercises. on the bright side, at least i got to exercise today and gonna try to do a complete set of exercises tomorrow.. thanks Joanna! you're amazing and such an inspiration for me to losing weight!

    8 minutes of this exercise yesterday and today my calves are dead. Like dead. Like giving up on me and limping dead. So much pain. It's good tho, means it worked. I'll continue with beginner workouts for now though.

      +jawyria khan i followed her meal plan.. and i did two sets of workouts per day ... i continued it for about a month without taking any rest.. i didnt rest even a single day.. i stopped all my junk foods dr.. but it was hard for me to get rid of rice(may be itz bcoz um a srilanakan and im used to it) therefore i ate small portion of about 100g of brown rice for my lunch..oats for breakfast and boiled vegetables for dinner..included salads for my meals..had an apple or fruit juice in between the meals..used green tea as well.. thatz how i did it dr..itz not a dream..u can do it..be courageous and positive..dream of ur slim body while engaging in ur workouts...do it.. u can.. all the best my dr..

      Sreychou Sun do it 5-6 times a week so the one day you have break in you're legs will be able to recover

    wow! u look a lot long and lean right now, esp those arms, how do u slim those arms? jogging gives me d most effective result for slimming my arms until i stop bcz crime rate. Plus jogging slim down my chest which is something i don't want!!! I had tried kick boxing = cardio, lifting weight = str and sometimes yoga but not even an inch had been cut down, still stuck at 11-12 inch :( im so frusss bout this, am i doing it wrong? since is a new yr and cny is cmin soon! im motivated to do something intensive for my arms. I play badminton twice a week, ballet twice a week, other days i'll do yt workout vids like ur vid, fitnessblender and blogilates. Any advice on how to change an athletic body to more a feminine body with slim arms? and thank you so much! btw i love tis vid, of cx will exercise v it bcz d last part is my fvvvvv!!!!!!
