Dulquer Salmaan is an Indian actor, playback singer and film producer who predominantly works in Malayalam films in addition to Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in business management from Purdue University and worked as a business manager in Dubai before pursuing a career in acting. Dulquer is a recipient of several awards including, four Filmfare Awards South and a Kerala State Film Award.
After a three-month acting course at the Barry John Acting Studio, Salmaan made his acting debut with Second Show (2012). He has since established himself as a leading actor in Indian cinema with several critically and commercially successful films including Ustad Hotel (2012), ABCD (2013), Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi (2013), Vaayai Moodi Pesavum (2014), Bangalore Days (2014), Vikramadithyan (2014), O Kadhal Kanmani (2015), Charlie (2015), Kali (2016), Jomonte Suvisheshangal (2017), Mahanati (2018), Kurup (2021) and Sita Ramam (2022).
He has been recognised in the media as a fashion icon and an auto enthusiast. He owns several entrepreneurship ventures and promotes various social causes. He is also the founder of the film production company Wayfarer Films.
King of Kotha (also marketed as KOK) is an upcoming Indian Malayalam-language action thriller film directed by Abhilash Joshiy in his directorial debut and produced by Wayfarer Films and Zee Studios. The film stars an ensemble cast of Dulquer Salmaan, Shabeer Kallarakkal, Prasanna, Gokul Suresh, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Nyla Usha, Chemban Vinod Jose, Shammi Thilakan, Saran, and Anikha Surendran. The cinematography is handled by Nimish Ravi and the film score is composed by Jakes Bejoy while the songs are composed by Jakes Bejoy and Shaan Rahman separately. The film is scheduled to release worldwide on 24 August 2023, during the festival of Onam.

I was expecting a good role for Shivjith Padmanabhan [villian opposite Tovino in KALKI] in this movie after seeing him with DQ in KURUP. I think Shivjith would have been more of a good choice for the character played by this guy from the extreme left. Shivjith is a 2 time KALAPRATHIBHA back in 1999 and 2000 Kerala State Kalolsavam. He is so underrated with no one really supporting him in the movie industry except Jayaraj. Shivjith will be seen along with Suresh Gopi in his upcoming movie ORU PERUM KALIYAYAATTAM.
