I always wondered why the lyrics were "Florid moon shines upon a world that is doomed to die," but then I remembered from what I think was the original Guns Girl/Houkai Gakuen 2, the "real" Kiana was called "White Moonlight." Kiana is "shining" on the world because she is offering light in the darkness by saving lives, but in the end her sacrifice only saves them in one moment (hence the RED staining the moon). The Honkai was designed to destroy humanity, and as long the Imaginary Tree and the Sea of Quanta continue working the same way they do, the branches of "earths" will continue to wither and die from the Honkai and be replaced by new ones in an inevitable cycle.
The moon or blood moon is definitely a reoccurring theme in Honkai and ggz, as well as the world ultimately ending no matter what you try to do. IMO that one line sums up honkai pretty well.
I think it's gonna be a recurring thing in miHoYo games. Genshin impact also does reference crimson moons a lot too like: "the eclipse is swallowed by the crimson moon" and khaenri'ah fell during a red moon. + in general there are a load of moon references like the Welkin Moon and Moon Sisters. I guess I can take the crimson moon as something along the lines of "an inevitable fate"
In genshin when you fight Ba'al, she will bring you along to a dimension with tori'is and crimson moon, also the Inazuma looks like it doomed from the disaster across the land.

i think its gonna take some time to foster the same attachment to the characters and story for a lot of people. i hope that honkai anime end up making some cinematics like this for genshin as well. i also hope that they keep making manga. i can see some emotional moments with stuff like sibling betrayal in the future, because that will really hurt, even the brief image we have in the most recent "we will be reunited" story quest was pretty emotional for me at least.

The Lament Of the Fallen Short is probably the Most Beautiful Short since Final Lesson, it's overall just amazing, the dialogue is incredible, and the entire story about Kiana and Mei comes full circle and we actually start seeing some more similarities from the Manga in the game.

and after playing with mei in game, you realize that she just used the weapon skill against kiana after getting in herrscher form. that how much kiana was weakened being thorn inside out by 3 gems for months. Kiana wold'nt stand a chance against ana and owl, it's a sad true that mei indeed saved kiana's life.
Meh, Kiana was weaken by the opening of the Sea of Quanta by Kevin and Otto, which is why after escaping more or less okay from Kevin (thanks to Fu Hua) she's reduced bedridden and Mei find her uncoscious. Apart from the energy she used and the honkai level, is just the kind of Honkai energy used by that two.

"if saving you is a sin, then i'll gladly become a sinner" said Raiden Mei Raiden Shogun going to such extreme effort chasing eternity, taking away visions and ambitions of Inazuman people, essentially taking someone's reason to live almost (committing a great sin), but in reality she just wants to realize her ideal of eternity to protect her nation since she has lost so many people she cares about. Mihoyo is on another level when it comes to story writing.
My only problem with how they approached the writing in Genshin is how inconcise and tedious the delivery can be. Honkai occasionally also suffers from this, but generally far, fat less often, mostly just in some of the event stories, really, and it has a dialogue skip button. Both Honkai and Genshin have great stories, some aspects better one and some in another, but the only thing that tips over the scale in Honkai's favor me is the better delivery

(disorganized rant about this song below, sorry i tried my best to be coherent 🙏) Okay, I'm gonna be that guy and conpare this song to Acheron (Mei's expy/counterpart in Star Rail). So, Acheron is kind of more like GGZ/HG2 Mei, in that her story ends with all her loved ones dead and her world destroyed. GGZ/HG2 Mei's theme song is also the original version of Honkai World Diva. This doesn't really mean much, but I wanted to point it out because I thought it was interesting As for the lyric analysis (im not analyzing them all, just the ones that stick out to me) All the incandescent stars of heaven will die at the end of days Your gentle soul given to damnation something something nihility. Second verse is referring to her becoming an emanator of nihility. "Crimson moon shines upon a town that is smeared in blood..." Referring to the destruction of her planet via honkai. (there's another term for it but they're the same thing with a different name so) Her ultimate is also called "Slashed Dream Cries in Red" which feels like a very obvious reference to me All those sweet little dreams buried deep in memories until the very end Lost and faded truth of bygone memories Hiddеn deep in my corrupt body All of Acheron's memories are hidden even from her until she unsheathes her sword (in which they all come back to her all at once, hence why she cries when using her ultimate) "Florid moon shines upon a world that is doomed to to die..." Acheron has a lot of flower motifs in her kit/attacks The whirling noise is pulling me within The tainted carcass of this world This one's at the end because it felt a little bit too stupid, but... The "whirling noise" is the black hole that decimated Acheron's planet. I really love that they made Acheron much more similar to Mei (either HI3rd or GGZ) in HSR compared to her other expy/counterpart. Though maybe Ei is supposed to be a Dr. MEI counterpart lol (with makoto being much more similar to Mei's personality)
Here now after all the Acheron hype in Star Rail and *WOW...* As someone who got into Honkai Impact 3rd back when Imbibitor Lunae was added, I can't believe how amazing this song and this game in general is... The story, characters, and everything are absolutely top tier and *TOTALLY* positive and wholesome 😆😭. So happy I finally decided to join the Honkai community when I did, *My biggest regret is not joining sooner.* This is the game I've needed in my life for YEARS. *Can't wait to pull for Acheron in Honkai Star Rail!* Good luck to everyone else pulling for Mei-Senpai! ⚡

They really did a spectacular job in this chapter, that part at the last stage where a picture of them holding on to each other at the roof top, then mei cuts it signifies shes willing to cut her ties with everyone to keep kiana safe. i love this song! specially at this part 2:35 - 2:46 which gives me goosebumps! the Japanese lyrics fits perfectly and its kinda similar to SAO's "luminous sword" Ost.. Mei's thunder teleportation at the end of the video was epic!!

Meh, Kiana was weaken by the opening of the Sea of Quanta by Kevin and Otto, which is why after escaping more or less okay from Kevin (thanks to Fu Hua) she's reduced bedridden and Mei find her uncoscious. Apart from the energy she used and the honkai level, is just the kind of Honkai energy used by that two.

Raiden Shogun going to such extreme effort chasing eternity, taking away visions and ambitions of Inazuman people, essentially taking someone's reason to live almost (committing a great sin), but in reality she just wants to realize her ideal of eternity to protect her nation since she has lost so many people she cares about. Mihoyo is on another level when it comes to story writing.
My only problem with how they approached the writing in Genshin is how inconcise and tedious the delivery can be.
Honkai occasionally also suffers from this, but generally far, fat less often, mostly just in some of the event stories, really, and it has a dialogue skip button.
Both Honkai and Genshin have great stories, some aspects better one and some in another, but the only thing that tips over the scale in Honkai's favor me is the better delivery

So, Acheron is kind of more like GGZ/HG2 Mei, in that her story ends with all her loved ones dead and her world destroyed. GGZ/HG2 Mei's theme song is also the original version of Honkai World Diva. This doesn't really mean much, but I wanted to point it out because I thought it was interesting

They really did a spectacular job in this chapter, that part at the last stage where a picture of them holding on to each other at the roof top, then mei cuts it signifies shes willing to cut her ties with everyone to keep kiana safe. i love this song! specially at this part 2:35 - 2:46 which gives me goosebumps! the Japanese lyrics fits perfectly and its kinda similar to SAO's "luminous sword" Ost.. Mei's thunder teleportation at the end of the video was epic!!
