The things you got right:
1. Close people having a confrontation. Both wanting better for the other, but is left with no other option but conflict.
2. The flashbacks. In the animation, their memories are being shown. How they met, what impact one made with the other, and how precious she is to her, causing conflict between what they want and what they have to do. (Context SPOILERS --Kiana Kaslana trying to save others at the cost of her own, and Raiden Mei stopping her. Mei's line: If saving you is a sin, I'll gladly be a sinner-- )
3. Funny enough, you mentioned of a park bench, which, oddly, was also there during the fight on a ROOFTOP, albeit, they didn't sat on it but threw it and split the poor thing in half lol.
I think theres a flashback of them in this bench?
so it was a way to (literally) throw a memory into the conflict

Kiana: After all we been through together, you gonna destroy it!?
Mei: If you keep going this path, there will be no “we” to be together after!

You've opened the Pandora's box - prepare for a torrent of requests to react to Nightglow, Starfall, Cyberangel, Dual Ego, Rubia, Moon Halo and so on. All of these correspond to highly emotionally charged parts of the story.
But seriously - great job yet again. You picked up on the subtle details and figured out the context from the music alone.
BTW, a small note about music in Honkai Impact 3 compared to Genshin Impact. While Genshin music has a somewhat consistent style, Honkai Impact's music is a lot more varied when it comes to genres. Which actually makes sense, given that events of the game take place all across the world and throughout many time periods (through flashbacks).

The context behind the song in Honkai World Diva: two character Kiana Kaslana, Raiden Mei
Basically Kiana Kaslana mission is to save the world, as a duty being a Kaslana to always protect the people before themselves to the point of disregarding their wellbeing. Kiana in the story is dying and her best(girl)friend Raiden Mei joins the dark side to save her and when Kiana heard this she tries to stop her.
In this fight it expresses Kiana's bestfriend resolute to save her and her blindness to the people that surround her, always saving everyone even if kills her and always tries to hide the pain of her burden. Raiden Mei in this point tells her how much she values her, more than the world and she will do everything to save her even if she needs to join the dark side.
Thing song reflects Raiden Mei specifically and what is going on within her mind.
Just to add Kiana didn't knew at first why Mei joined the dark side - Overall in the beginning it just seems Mei wants her to hate her so Kiana can "let go" and give up on her until Mei breaks and tell her.

I would reccomend Moon Halo, Rubia, The Day you Vanished with the Stars, and Regression. They’re also amazing works of art from Honkai

Yeah... "This is something we don't wanna do. I wish we could do something different. " Man, that's so freaking accurate. Music is so magical to actually convey feelings of the music itself to people's hearts. There's actual animation that uses these two pieces of music if you're interested in how they played.
I watched it afterwards - really stunning
Especially the context where when Mei wants to stop Kiana from dying by taking back the gem of conquest with the condition she need to enter World Serpent after she succesfully took the gem(one of the evil organization), but Kiana says no, chase Mei on top of a building then *"fist fight"* -Kiana
That face at 3:20-3:57 sums up all of chapter 17. Cant believe it took you 10 mins to arrive at an emotional state that took me 100's of day of gameplay

The accuracy of your guesses on the story based purely on musical cues continues to blow my mind on each video. It makes me wonder if this would hold true for songs that feature more electronic elements in their instrumentation. Would love to hear your insight on the soundtrack for Punishing Gray Raven, especially pieces like "Narwhal", "Hikari", and "Sie Liebten Sich Beide".

In japanese, honkai world diva is wroten as "houkai sekai no utahime". Translation per word give you honkai world diva, however for more context it can also be translated to "diva (song/singing princess) of the decaying world"
Ive seen a few of your videos and i gotta say I really appreciate you adding historical music history to the context of "modern" songs.

Same game by Hoyoverse and It's very Underrated sometimes
Genshin has a more "broad audience" appeal (as in it's a more generic open world waifu collector game), that's why it's more popular, I guess. I treat it like how some actors do schlocky blockbuster roles to fund their artsy passion projects (Genshin is the schlock to fund Honkai).

I never thought that you'll react some Honkai 3rd Impact tracks. Honkai World Diva was already in my playlists for a while, and knowing what is happening in the story at that moment (it's already explained somewhere in the comments :3), i just can tell that you really catch the meaning of the the song and what's going on. You've done a really good job, keep going.
P.S. : If you want to react to some more Honkai tracks, there are these ones i would suggest : Nightglow, Befall, and Moon Halo.

Both songs are played on the same animated short called "Lament of the Fallen" featuring a conflict between 2 Honkai Impact characters.
One willing to sacrifice for the greater good and one unwilling to allow that person to sacrifice themself and carry that burden once again.
It shows a fight between who shall carry the burden and the second song shows the will of the one unwilling to allow the other to sacrifice themself, declaring "if rescuing you is a sin, then I'll gladly become a sinner."
Honkai Impact is known in the community for dark themes and tragedies. Mihoyo(Hoyoverse now), the dev team for Honkai Impact and Genshin Impact are known to be very particular with storytelling. They don't only focus on the details of the game and story, they also put a particular focus on the music and animations, dropping hints of character's and world lore as well as making sure that all of these factors fully fits together.
I really suggest you to try listening to the music that they use for particular areas of Genshin's Map. At the moment there's 3 nations with many specific area on each nations having their own tailor made music playing with different variants based on the time of the day and the lore of each location. Genshin usually releases their albums for those in their official youtube channel.
At this point I'm starting to think that you do research before reacting haha :D Your ability to tell what's going on by just listening to the music is really impressive. And mihoyo's ability to convey everything through their music also deserves a praise. Thanks for reacting to honkai/genshin, looking forward to more of these, these games should get more exposure for sure.

I know this was already discussed in the comments below but here's some additional context (with spoilers):
Kiana Kaslana, the main protagonist of the mobile game Honkai Impact 3, is slowly dying at this point of this story. There's an energy that's corrupting her from within and the doctor looking after her says she only has 2 more months left to live.
The thing with being a Kaslana is that they come from a long line of people who saved the world at the cost of their own lives. Despite the fact that this Kiana is only a clone, she's still carrying on the family code of saving the world. Problem is that Kiana's girlfriend Raiden Mei isn't taking that lying down, hence why she decides to fight Kiana and get her to back down.
It's kind of a given Mei would do this because Kiana saved her life once as a child (at the ruins of the very same school they are currently fighting in no less). She wants to repay the favor even if it means dooming the rest of the world. In Mei's words, "If saving you is a sin, I'll gladly become a sinner."
Before said fight, Mei ends up reclaiming part of Kiana's energy core that was taken from her to begin with. In doing that, she reawakens her full power and completely mops the floor with Kiana (despite the fact that Kiana was forced to use her full power as well).
The music "Yesterday" plays during the first part when Mei fights Kiana. Sorrowful as expected, then when she finally reawakens and faces a powered-up Kiana, that's when "Honkai World Diva" or "Sekai no Utahime" starts to play in its full glory.
I would suggest watching "Lament of the Fallen" in Japanese dub if you haven't seen it yet. Subs are available in the video's captions. That's the animated short where these 2 tracks play.
Fair warning: Do prepare tissues because you probably might be in tears even more than just by listening to the tracks. ;)

wow, I just want to say you blew my mind with your videos. I worked with audiovisual during a good part of my life (mostly the news, documentaries and variety shows at some point). Obviously I know the importance of music for storytelling, but naturally I've always focused more on the visuals.
Your genshin analysis made me realize you can tell incredibly detailed stories through music, mostly with just instrumental. I want to learn a lot more about it now. Thanks for the new hobby lol Also, I really enjoy your work! Thanks for making these videos!

Honkai has so much good music. And Kiana and Mei's love story and struggles are so incredible. Lament of the Fallen (the animation that uses these songs) is still one of the most sapphic things I've watched and it is incredible
I just found out this song, as well as Kiana and Mei predate even Honkai Impact 3rd, they were in games Hoyo made even earlier, and the first version of the song was all the way back in 2011!

I love how some people can find the context from the song alone without experiencing the story.
I recommend trying Befall and Rubia, the other songs from the game too, but I have a feeling that these two will leave you with a good impression.
I'll have to mention from the start that Rubia is sung by a male singer.

I some times just can't belive you do not know what happens when this music plays, you can so percisely describe what happens in the story just from listening to the music its shocking!
Well, to explain it in more elaborate explanation of "yesterday", its just like you said. 2 people that dear to each other has to had a duel because one person keep on pushing herself to the point that it might kill her ( most certainly actually ) because she thing that she has to solve all of the disaster that she cause, even tho everyone except her knew that she is absolutely innocent, but she still blame herself. And the other want to stop her, even if she has to "sell her soul to the devil" ( quite literally story-wise ). And this music is interconected to the "befall" ( ....i was watching your befall reaction 1st then this ), which tell us about the first person ( the one who feels responsible of the disaster ) know who she really is and what power she has inside her. That power, gone out of control and she can't control it. Even losing her mentor because of it ( although her mentor was gonna die sooner or later with or without that disaster anyway. So, again, not her fault but she still feels guilty nonetheless ), which was told in the "last lesson" that you have been reacting to.
I recommend you react to "NARWHAL" from Punishing: Gray Raven.
