Late for the party, but wanted to thank you so much. My son's father died unexpectedly a few years ago. Together, we are managing the sales of his wood engravings - beautiful neo-Celtic designs. He was amazing. Anyway, he died leaving a lot of unsigned prints - he usually did a run of 100, and today I learned about the estate stamp, and will look into that. Sadly, the newer prints did not have a full run, I don't know how many he ran, maybe 20, there's no way for us to know, as his organizational skills went into his art, and did not much extend beyond. Again...thank you.

Many people use my online appraisal reports to help them sell pieces. The reports show a location where a similar piece sold and for how much. But the first step is knowing the value.
I really like learning from Dr.Lori and she is really cool. But lately I think she is doing a lot more rambling and being extra nice to ppl vs. educating on antiques and jewelry. I don't want to listen to 40 mind of chat to learn about 1 or 2 things that actually matter. And some of the live ppl. I have a quilt that we found in my mother's sewing fabrics. It is initialed and I believe it is called a freedom quilt. It is dyed Muslim and is hand sewn and hand quilted. We think it was maybe a great aunt and her daughter from initials .it is red green and yellow doves with olive branches in each corner, a sunburst in the center and red triangles in the border. It is in great shape. I want to mail it to a cousin but don't want to lose it. I think I should get it appraised before I send it

I collect mostly Fire King Philbe and Monax Petalware. I don't tend to collect dust catchers. I like stuff that I can use when I am serving dinner or vintage that I can use in my kitchen like my measuring cup collection. I have a few nice pieces like a Blue Swirl Fenton Water Pitcher and tumblers full set. I do like glass.

i have been collecting antiques for many years i have tote boxes of mccoy pottery just tons of things, but there is a set of etchings from the paris etching society. it is framed in wood i have never seen before and the wood looks carved, the pics have metal flakes in it and what i thought was small bushes in the back ground is really small people in such detail im amazed. but you have to see the little people with a magnifying glass. i have such a feeling about this pic. it is part of a set of 4 but i only have two. i can not find a signature but i know they are surely copies of the four seasons by alexander hamilton, that i saw in a museum. i may have you apraise this painting. im getting old and my kids dont like old stuff,lol they said sell it all coz they dont want it.
I wish you were my neighbor and close friend......Where I live in Florida ls loaded with semi (and fully) wealthy retired people.....The Goodwill bins (3 in an hrs drive) have great stuff for steal of a deal prices, let alone the glassware, crystal, sterling silver/silverplate, etc etc etc in constant estate sales.......I have dozens and dozens of items you would probably love to check out......

I would have loved to be on this live! I feel like I'm getting a first-rate education for FREE, and you are so sweet and endearing to watch. I have a question: do you feel, as an antique appraiser (and I assume collector?), do you think that by widely distributing all the information you do, you will somehow change values of things in the market because more people are buying and selling? Along with websites like ebay etc. I mean, isn't much of the value in fine art and such so much about its "exclusivity"? would love to hear your thoughts :)

I have a quilt that we found in my mother's sewing fabrics. It is initialed and I believe it is called a freedom quilt. It is dyed Muslim and is hand sewn and hand quilted. We think it was maybe a great aunt and her daughter from initials .it is red green and yellow doves with olive branches in each corner, a sunburst in the center and red triangles in the border. It is in great shape. I want to mail it to a cousin but don't want to lose it. I think I should get it appraised before I send it

@@DrLoriV heh heh, Subscribing was the first thing I did. And then I found myself watching videos last night until nearly 3am. Couldn't stop. Had to force myself to turn off TH-cam on my TV. I collect mostly Fire King Philbe and Monax Petalware. I don't tend to collect dust catchers. I like stuff that I can use when I am serving dinner or vintage that I can use in my kitchen like my measuring cup collection. I have a few nice pieces like a Blue Swirl Fenton Water Pitcher and tumblers full set. I do like glass.
@@DrLoriV my best story is my cousin found a single drapery tumbler in Sioux Falls, SD. The next year, I found the matching 5 tumblers and Fenton Water Pitcher in Walnut, IA to give to her for her house warming gift as a surprise.

i have been collecting antiques for many years i have tote boxes of mccoy pottery just tons of things, but there is a set of etchings from the paris etching society. it is framed in wood i have never seen before and the wood looks carved, the pics have metal flakes in it and what i thought was small bushes in the back ground is really small people in such detail im amazed. but you have to see the little people with a magnifying glass. i have such a feeling about this pic. it is part of a set of 4 but i only have two. i can not find a signature but i know they are surely copies of the four seasons by alexander hamilton, that i saw in a museum. i may have you apraise this painting. im getting old and my kids dont like old stuff,lol they said sell it all coz they dont want it.

I would have loved to be on this live! I feel like I'm getting a first-rate education for FREE, and you are so sweet and endearing to watch. I have a question: do you feel, as an antique appraiser (and I assume collector?), do you think that by widely distributing all the information you do, you will somehow change values of things in the market because more people are buying and selling? Along with websites like ebay etc. I mean, isn't much of the value in fine art and such so much about its "exclusivity"? would love to hear your thoughts :)

Many people take me shopping or show me items before they buy. I often hear the term "exact" used, then after my review, pieces are not exactly the same. I need to see pieces to verify what they are and to determine their value. I also talk about items on my tables in other videos.
