Depends on the item. People use my online appraisal reports to help them sell their items. The reports show a location where a similar piece sold and for how much based on my market analysis.

Dr. Lori, I have a men's cross with a 925 marking but to my surprise, when I pass a magnet by it, the crossed stuck to the magnet. I'm so surprised and confused since I thought that 925 silver will not stick to the magnet. Can my men's cross be a 925 fake?
Have to see yours to verify what you really have. Remember, marks are easy to forge too. Many factors in play which is why I need to see pieces. Please don't do any stupid tests that might ruin the piece :)

I can look at a lot of items in 30 minutes during a video call. A lot depends on how prepared you are and the amount of questions you may have as we go through things.

With used art do I need to do anything to it besides cleaning the front glass and the outside of the frame? Example: Should I have the dust cover replaced by a framing store before listing it to sell?

The lady there said all PICTURES WERE a Dollar apiece and ended up buying about 20 Pictures painted by Norman Rockwell and also some Pencil etching as well. My best score was a bracelet and necklace set but needing to get it appraised and best place to sell it.I was offered a good amount for it but I think it’s worth more then scraping.What do I do ??
People use my online appraisal reports which include a location where a similar piece sold and for how much.

With used art do I need to do anything to it besides cleaning the front glass and the outside of the frame? Example: Should I have the dust cover replaced by a framing store before listing it to sell?
If you are reselling I usually suggest don't do anything. I've seen many pieces ruined with over zealous cleaning. Ask me during my next Ask Dr. Lori LIVE video for more details.
hi Dr Lori. I went to a garage sale at a storage unit. The lady there said all PICTURES WERE a Dollar apiece and ended up buying about 20 Pictures painted by Norman Rockwell and also some Pencil etching as well. At the bottom it says from the a museum in Washington. Do you think they are worth anything? I know your very busy so maybe another time you can give me some advice….. I have so much art . Also have a lithograph by Norman Rockwell.

I would like to know more about ceramics too. I believe I have a 19th century satsuma vase with marking on the bottom that means “sour” and I was told it was used for sour fruit trees by a Japanese friend. How could I find the value in it? Or how do I message this information for you to look at it?
