Present! I about cried when I saw the announcement. While I should display cautious optimism, I just can’t wait to see TWEWY get more attention!

The World Ends With You is about accepting what's in your own world and learning to enjoy living by connecting with the worlds of others. It's about learning and maturing as a person.
Which is why I believe that the ending of A New Day is both fitting and very, very, VERY worrying.
Neku's character arc represents the game's message more than anything else, even more so than what CAT represents. He pretty much IS the game. I was content with that at the end of Vanilla TWEWY, especially from the Secret Reports and ESPECIALLY after having finished Tin Pin World. AND's ending is good as it sets up the sequel for a story that seems to be more detached from Neku, focusing more on Sequel-chan.
But at the same time it completely destroys that hope as it once again emphasizes that Neku is too gosh dang important to the entirey of TWEWY. And I think that's a shame.
Sure, bringing Sho back is great and all and the thought of having him as a partner is zetta cool. But it keeps reinforcing the idea that the main cast, and at the very least Neku, will still continue to be present in the game even though we were already shown how much their world has grown through this story.
I believe a proper sequel to this game should focus on a completely new cast of characters who need to mature just like our lovable group. If the message of the game is to grow and learn to realize that "It's a Wonderful World," then we have to see that happen for people who don't realize it just yet.
TL;DR h.a.n.d pls give our spikey boy a break he just found out how to live his life and died before he got to live it
Same. I loved the original twewy and was mega excited to get the Remix, a sequel would be nice but it definitely should be with a different cast. Maybe keep Mr H and Josh, and maybe even have an Easter egg of the gang walking around Shibuya but that should be it.
I agree wholeheartedly. The world is really great and fleshed out, especially after reading all the secret reports, but Neku and the Gang’s stories are 100% wrapped up and I like them that way. The idea of a sequel still starring neku is concerning

A year later and this comment aged nicely, a new cast of characters mostly detached from the main cast aside from Kariya and Minamimoto, and even hints of influences from the original cast in the sequel (ie: Goth girl wearing a Mr. Mew onesie)

Man. Seeing these kids again after so many years... Something just clicked in me and I just felt, like, a mellow, warm kind of happiness. I missed these dead dorks so much.
I still kinda miss Lullaby for You but it's more in a bittersweet kinda way? And Runaway grew on me a lot over the years, so it's all fine.
Are we actually gonna get a TWEWY2 after so long? Prayer circle, everyone! Here's hoping! (also, only Square can pull off the same cliffhanger, TWICE, and still make it work. GJ guys, but HOW AND WHY.)

I headcanon since Neku wears headphones all the time to block out sound that he can read lips and know what everyone is saying.
Your half right, it's made to block the noise out but only for isolation, Neku wouldn't want to hear others in the first place. But taking your theory up you can say that as Neku opens up, he turns down the volume a little bit

I have a theory concerning "Hype-Chan" (the blonde girl with Mr. Mew).
I think she may be the protagonist of the potential sequel. Obviously Neku is not out of the woods yet....but I think he'll make an appearance in the sequel as either one of her partners or as a [temporary] enemy throughout the story.
Neku saw visions of the future involving this girl and then died (again), so I am taking it she is the future protagonist. Maybe she even saves Neku.
As for how she has Mr. Mew, it's possible that she's one of Shiki's friends in another city. Of course, the description of the music track "???" mentions time travel, and her pale blonde hair seems a lot like Beat's...
@@rogercameron6912 I was thinking it's an older Rhyme. Why is she older? I don't know, but it could explain why she has Mr.Mew. This could also circle back to what she gave up when she entered The Game. It's probably why they never said what it was.

Plus Josh had gone to some distance from breaking his own game rules to preserving Shibuya. At this point I kinda thought Josh eventually saw Neku as something else other than his Proxy.
But nah, Squeenix had to ruin that impression by giving us that cold-hearted Josh. I think it's rather inconsistent.

thanks for posting this, I was slowly going through TWEWY for iOS and the iOS13 update broke every cutscene, but I was also getting kind of tired of playing the game, so now I can just watch all the cutscenes to see what happens x.x

Here after NEO announcement, finish the game on DS long ago and forget the story. I remember my self surge in joy seeing the original game credit and shiki's real appearance, how nostalgic. I didn't even know there's a second one on switch. Seems like a prolog for NEO.

after playing astral chain and fighting most of the black chimeras (which are stronger versions of normal ones) and now seeing neku talking about black noises makes me think that there’s a connection to the color black and video game enemies

I'm wondering if Neku was actually disposed of by Joshua, or did Joshua mean something deeper when he said "He (Neku) isn't needed here anymore" like Neku is being sent to help someone else in an alternate Shibuya (where it seems like Sora woke up). So much reading between the lines is needed for even the "absolute" ending dialogues of these games.

So Sora is definitely in the reapers game now after seeing how he wakes up in the secret ending just how Neku wakes up in the beginning of this game.
@Rodrick Young Or maybe his very existence in his own world (Kingdom Hearts world) and others memories of him after resurrecting Kairi. (I feel like that was something that Sora wasn't supposed to do, bringing back people from "death".) His price is probably going to be an inversion of what happened in Chain of Memories (Re:Chain of Memories), since he was the one who lost his memories and got them messed up in that game.

If I remember correctly, Reapers' wings cannot be seen in the RG. If Neku and Beat had gotten back into the RG in the ending, her wings wouldn't have been there!

At the very end it's pointed out that noise have appeared in the RG and that shinjuku has been destroyed. So I'm sure there will be a logical explanation for it in Neo

Well, they kinda made it clear Coco isn't a game master. There is none in A New Day. Just a reaper controlling the fake Shibuya.

You know since this is where Kh4 or Kh3 DLC will take place I have a theory on what the story will look like.
During Sora's journey in the Reaper Shibuya he will be guided by Xehanort's Soul in order to redeem himself from his crimes and during his journey in the reaper game he will make a pact with a New and Mysterious Kingdom Hearts Character to win the Reaper Game. Meanwhile in the living realm Riku will try to find Sora by retracing his steps and during his quest to bring Sora back home he will be guided by Eraqus' Soul. Meanwhile back in the Reaper Shibuya Sora and his partner have succesfully completed the 6 days game but unfortunately in the 7th day Sora was knocked out by a Game Master and when he is about to be executed here his partner will reveal his True Form as The Master of Masters himself who will kill the Game Master that will force the other Reapers to take up Arms and an Epic fight between The Master of Masters and the Reapers will happen until the Conductor will cease the fight and ask the M.O.M why would he do such thing? The M.O.M answered that only him has the right to kill Sora in their upcoming 3rd Keyblade war between 13 Lights and 7 Darknesses.
