    I tried building a tower at home two years ago. Had a veriety of plants, to my surprise none went dead. Later found difference in growth and yellowish leafs on some, my pipe was too narrow and that organic homemade fertilizer (one used on soil) didn't do well on my setup. It came to a point it doesn't worth the trouble. In future when i find time i would love to have a setup like you do 💜

      He doesn't account for how far the towers have to be spread apart, which is very misleading and makes the results sound extremely, spectacularly efficient vs the truth, which is that it's somewhat more efficient than normal while adding lots of cost

    These towers are really cool and can grow a tremendous amount of food. My questions are, 1: how do you keep the wind from blowing it over when it is near harvest 2: how much and where does the water come from, municipal water system of rainwater? I’ve been eyeing these for nearly 10 years and this has always been my questions. Thanks, Happy Harvests.

      You should look up the downsides of this first, it needs constant electricity an extremely stable climate, constant maintenance to keep the plants alive because soil contains everything plants need while just water doesn't, these plants are also low in vitamins and minerals because they aren't in soil so don't have access.

      @@1truthseeking8 IT takes a while for plastic to leach chemicals into the water. @@thewafen763 doesn't take anytime at all.... I have an uncle that works at a university...research is showing that dioxin alone "migrates" out of all plastics with:
      as little as temperature change if 23 degrees Fahrenheit in EITHER direction from room temperature,
      mechanical "stress" OR
      deformation,
      Exposure to U.V. light (regardless of u.v. resistance chemicals added that DO protect the overall integrity of the plastic did NOT protect/reduce mo cement of dioxin from the plastics, dioxin is in highest concentration when plastic is new, but as it ages the rate increases, exxv posure to liquids increases this movement, but exposure to organics was MUCH higher... living organics - liquids containing bacteria, fungus, etc was THE HIGHEST. ...
      For a separate chemical such as BPA, even having your food wrapped in plastic increased it, THEN the BPA "in the adhesive of ANY label stuck (not just on a vegetable/fruit) but in the saran wrap on oackaged meat AND on plastic bottles juices, milk, soda pop. . • @Agrotonomy
      @Agrotonomy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Plants grown aeroponically have 100% availability of oxygen at the root level enhancing their ability to absorb nutrients. As a result, whether talking about nutrient density, antioxidant levels, or flavonoid levels where crops rank as high as the best ever tested with soil farming. Increase in nutrient density, flavonoids, and antioxidant levels also translates in superior taste and vegetables with the appropriate texture and water content!

    How much electricity, water, and nutrients was necessary for that tower to run until harvest?

    • @Agrotonomy
      @Agrotonomy  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Each tower uses a low-wattage submersible pump that operates at 45 watts for 4.8 hours of irrigation per day (3 min. on and 12 min. off). This means that at $0.18 kWh (average cost of electricity for households in the USA), it only costs about $1.20 in electricity per tower per month. When growing fruits and vegetables in aeroponic towers, we save up to 95% water in comparison to conventional farming. This is definitely the perfect farming technology for places where water is scarce. On average, a commercial aeroponic tower growing 52 plants will use about 1 to 2 gallons per day which is approximately 4 to 7 liters per day depending on crops and conditions.

      To be labeled organic, the nutrients would need to originate from a living organism such as worms. Our nutrients only have earth-based minerals and trace elements, therefore it can't be technically labeled as organic. In fact, minerals are technically classified as inorganic substances. Nonetheless, there are no harmful chemicals or artificial ingredients in our nutrient solution, only minerals and trace elements that the plants need are used.
