      Plants grow much faster (more than 2x faster) in a hydroponic system than on soil. Lettuce takes 2 to 3 weeks in that set-up.
      For example, full 16+ hour light can be provided in a daily basis instead of 12.
      Also temperature can be controlled.
      Just a fun fact. Higher temperature slows plant growth. Optimal temperature for growth is below 30 Celsius or below 80 F.

    This is really beautiful
    Can we possibly comprehend in an entirety all the necessary elements the Sun ☀️ gives naturally?
    And if we cannot fully understand, how can we even talk about creating a "similar conditions" for these types of cultivation?
    Well I am willing to be schooled!

    • @TushhsuT
      @TushhsuT ปีที่แล้ว

      the Sun gives light only. Everything else comes from the soil, water and air.
      Of course one will never be able to create same richness of everything or even natural lack of something in the soil. And of course it will influence on the taste. Also the "color"=spectrum of light is influencing on the developing of leaves and slightly on taste. Different experiments and adaptations of procedure and "nutrition" are running all the time. Add more of this fertilizer, change the light color to red for more juicy and tastier salad leaves and so on.
      You can never reach 100% of conditions of naturally grown plant. In same time naturally grown plant will never have so ideal conditions and can be spoiled by some plant deseases, can be eated by birds, anymals, bugs, slugs and snails. The weather can be too dry, too wet, too cold, too warm.. Actually it is never perfect! And all of it will influence on the plant. In such a vertical farm everything is under the control. But taste is not the same as naturally grown. However, I bet 99.9% of people will not notice the difference.
      And at the end one should choose - whether one feeds a million of people really well, or a hundred of millions also well, but not so tasty.. I would choose the first, but I afraid the rapid Earth population decrease methods are not really popular :)

      You can give more light indoors actually, and with CO2 supplimental input you can greatly exceed the light given by the sun. There are a few reasons for this, mainly there aren't any cloudy days indoors. Not hard to check DLI numbers indoor/outdoor and compare lol

Что в земле, что в таких растворах растения едят только неорганические соединения, кальций, магний, азот в виде нитрата и т.д..
