I was searching for diy ways to make aeroponic towers, when I found your videos. Probably won't be long until you have over a million subscribers and views. This is absolutely one of the most amazing ways to grow vegetables and fruit ever, as opposed to traditional gardening! Anyone could grow this way, no matter where they lived. Your very wise to find a cheaper way, to do this, rather than spending a fortune on the aeroponic towers, that sell for ridiculous amounts of money. I live in the country, and have a large garden, but I grow everything vertically, that doesn't grow that way on it's own. This is possibly even a game changer for that, I'm going to be watching these videos, and hopefully doing some of this next year. Thank the Lord, that people like you can figure this stuff out!
Great harvest! 😊 This year i also grow hydroponic onions, in 4 inch netpots filled with clay pebbels. Works fine so far (but harvest is not ready yet).
Have you tried using home made nutrient solution instead of store bought? With so many supply problems I think it would be a good idea to figure out how to do it.
Yours is my new favorite channel. You provide so much information by showing us every step of the way. Thank you! Where are you located? We don’t have those styroboxes in my area but they look fantastic to work with. I wonder if I could make them….
This is so awesome! I've been putting it off on trying hydroponics!. You have definitely got me encouraged to start. Can you do this process of growing onions under grow lights indoors? I just about watched all your video's. Thank you for sharing.
Awesome !! I did in container last year ,Red Onion but with soil media. Your channel is just too good for a beginner like me who is interested in Hydroponics...
Can you turn the onions during the growing phase? I heard turning the onions 90 degrees makes them grow bigger. But WOW! Thank you SO MUCH for posting this!
This is a form of hydroponic hybrid which is a soil hydro mix. Very awesome outcome. Makes me curious on how well they would do in a aerated dwc type system or even aeroponics
I'm looking for this video about onion early today on your Chanel, yes just a while ago. You uploaded it at the right time since I've been planning to plant this week. 😂 thank you for sharing. 🤗
That's so easy but so amazing. I guess I have to get more things growing. My containers are all deeper than yours, you think I should cut them down? ❤❤
after watching some of your videos i tried to do this, but the polystyrene sheets i bought kept breaking when i tried to cut holes in them, did you buy your sheets with holes already in? or do you have a tip for making holes in the polystyrene sheets? thanks
I use a heated tomato tin can it fits perfectly in a 3" hole. Here is the video on how I made them th-cam.com/video/DfDqsObRkV4/w-d-xo.html I hope this helps!🌱🙂
@@healinghobbies thanks for the reply, i think its unlikely ill be using that method, no gas stove for a start, but certainly gives me something to think about :)
My onions are still growing and are still quite small. But they look very good so far. I had 3-4 onions in one pot at the beginning and have already put them away to eat, and in the end I only left one standing, which is now getting bigger and bigger.
@@Daniel.556 Try checking the pH with a pH control kit. When it's too alkaline or acidic nutrient deficiency can occur. This TH-camr doesn't go over that when doing hydroponic methods.
Insane how a fantastic video like this has 10 k views, while loads of gardening blabbermouths with little to show and nothing to explain have millions...
Before mixing the solution I let my water sit for 24 hours and about 30 minutes before the second and third additions and I still get some precipitates. Is this normal or what could I be doing wrong?
I sincerely hope you don’t drive a car or wear clothes and shoes on your body- because you are taking in all the chemicals used to make these things. 😊

Beautiful onions! I’m enjoying your channel so much! I’ve got to try this❤
Thank you Elizabeth! LET’S GROW!🌱💜
Great harvest! 😊

I'm attempting to start some onion seeds, nothing has sprouted yet. I'll have to try again.
@@dnw75 sprouting rates were not good either when i did it, just seed more and be patient, sprouting can take some time :-)
@@dnw75 just keep going and growing! 😊♥️
I’m wondering if you could use a cotton ball in the center of the pool noodles to directly sow seeds
I think that idea would work too, I've done it with leafy greens to germinate the seeds.🌱🙂
Great job documenting the process! We're going to have to add onions to our list!
Have you tried using home made nutrient solution instead of store bought? With so many supply problems I think it would be a good idea to figure out how to do it.
I haven't tried that option yet but that would be an interesting experiment to consider. 🌱🙂
Amazing!!! Can you please share what size pots you used please 🙏
I'm trying this. Onions did terrible in the dirt for me. Thank you for your detailed video.

One more question…what size nursery pots are you using?
Girl I like this here❤❤❤❤
❤👍👍👍🤩🤩🤩
is the bottom cup touching the water or above the water?

You're welcome! Happy to share. I haven't tried the roots vegetable yet in growing indoors. That would be a very interesting to experiment. 🙂🌱
If you need to top up, do you add the same concentration of fertiliser solution, or do you dilute it?
Same ratio from start to harvest.
A great site thank you for all the infomation
are these 4 inch pots?

@@healinghobbies Omg, I was about to 3d print this super complex invention to grow onions hydroponically, can't believe it's that easy.
This is incredible!
well done . Interest explaining
Nice video. How many times was the container refilled?
Wow nice planting very well interesting 😮
Awesome! Thanks for sharing
You're welcome! Happy to share🌱🙂
Do you make nutrien solution each time you need to refill container? o you can use an old one?
Nice
Thank you so much 🙏🏼
Great results, well done!
Can i use the same solution for hydroponic lettuce?
For lettuce you can use this ratio Masterblend (NPK) 10g , Calcium Nitrate 10g, Epsom Salt 5g in 5 gallons of water.
What do you use for growing medium
50-50 mix of cocopeat and perlite
I will be trying this! ❤
any update?

Thanks Penny!💜 The deeper the better so you dont have to refill more often. At least 5-10gallons container work best🌱😊
Did you concern yourself with day length of the type of onion seed, like one must do when planting in the garden?
Yes, this is a short day onion variety. Short day and intermediate varieties are more suitable in my growing zone🌱😊
make video how to grow cabbage and cauliflower by hydroponics
I love your videos. How many liters of water did you use in the process? How many days did it take you to harvest them?
I’ve never had much success with onions and garlic (soil) but I grow them every year. Hopefully soon I’ll have something to hold my head high🍺🍺
Thanks Brad!💜 This is actually my first time growing onion. I was a bit surprised they were easy to grow. I’m sure you can do it too🌱😊.
At least you are trying which is more than most can say. I know very few gardeners in real life 😢😊❤❤
Hi! Can I grow them in Coco + perlite but by watering from above?
Yes but the challenge is, you may have to feed at least once or twice a day specially as they grow they take up a lot of nutrients.🌱🙂
I'm curious with the last one, growing using pool noodle.
Wow! What is the name of the cup you are usng?thanks.
It's a small seedling pots🌱😊
Please tell us, what variety of onion did you use here?
Sure, it's Texas Grano (short day) variety.🙂🌱
Pretty good outcome considering the pH and EC aren’t measured.👍🏽
I tend to measure my nutrients by weight, do you happen to know the weights that you used?
I use to but my scale broke. I just double the quantity from the recommended ratio of Masterblend 12-12-6 so approximately 24-24-12. 🙂🌱
@@healinghobbies That's exactly what I needed to know. Thank you! 😁

Sir .
You are why not use TDS and PH Meater?
Just keeping it simple, however if you have a the device available please do so.🌱🙂
Do you place it Direct Sunlight? Also, what kinda Temps you have where you have the onion growing?
Yes they are growing outdoor in direct sunlight. I started them in Spring (March), I would say Spring temp here between 60F-90F🌱🙂
How to order ur NPK
There is a link in the description.
Oke.. I still am wondering.. I thought an onion was a two year grob.
