you cant just end it without telling us Fele and Carl's wincons! please!
Please, we need to know!
exactly
we need to know. desperately.
Hey! fele here. Carl had to give every player 80 life and I had to do damage to every player with a goat. Hope you had fun!
@@CardmarketMagicthank you fele now I can sleep tonight.
The second the first Kaldra piece etb'd I knew his gimmick was basically "Assemble Exodia" lol
Yeah I was surprised he went with that one and not the Sword which is isolated with its effects unlike the other two.
If you’ve never seen Tomer play, one of his pet things is pretty regularly to try to assemble Kaldra.
I figured seeing his commander that he'd be trying to assemble it, why else play that commander with a unique win con.
I figured seeing his commander that he'd be trying to assemble it, why else play that commander with a unique win con.
"She still counts as an angel"
lmaoo three minutes in and Fele has already completely won me over
"You have MY GOAT" famous last words
Fele best!
I'm not sure if Tomer didn't cast his commander because he thought it got shut down by Yasharn, or if he just determined he didn't need it, but for anyone who wasn't aware Arcum does not sacrifice an artifact as part of the cost to activate the ability, rather it's sacrificed during resolution, so Yasharn does not affect it.
He says at 20:40 that it doesn't get shut down, so at least he knew it
@sorin_markov
Yeah, I wasn't sure about that line because it sounds like he's saying it sarcastically. Because he's saying, "my commander doesn't require a sacrifice" with a bitter-sounding tone instead of "my commander doesn't require a sacrifice as a cost"
He still could have meant the latter and I interpreted it wrong so I don't know for sure.
Without haste its kind of slow and with Thoralf being around 11 and not knowing the others win cons, I think rushing to draw/find his combo pieces was faster
I’m gunna echo some of the sentiments of viewers and recommend that if you guys do this great idea again, you give a brief window with everyone’s win cons on screen, but also let people know when so they can skip it if they wish to figure it out watching the game too.
This was an awesome video and a super fun idea I’d love to try myself, so I definitely hope to see more of this! Keep up the great content guys! 😁
I feel so loved. I asked for the MTGGoldfish collab and the hits keep coming! Thanks for making it happen family
Please do more of the alt win cons this was a very entertaining watch
35:55 Tomer cannot be targeted to gain life because he has protection from everything.
Tomer also lost in his upkeep due to leveler as he cannot Draw on his draw step once it resolved. lol. So Tomer was actually the first out the game.
@@vega1252 I think they were ignoring normal win / lose cons other than the special ones given them.
Tomer's long con plan to push them to put Thoralf down low was genius.
Love your commander videos! Here's an idea for another "weird commander" concept: only use commanders that are legendary creatures on the BACKside, but not the front. So "Throne of the Grim Captain," "Elbrus, the Binding Blade," "Westvale Abbey," and several of the "Invasion of" battles.
Doesnt the front side need to also be legendary for it to be allowed to be a commander? Or am i wrong?
The rules can be whatever the table agrees to.
@@Soraking007 Yeah, that's normally the rule. The front side needs to actually be a creature, too, to be a commander. But Cardmarket likes to fudge the rules for an interesting twist!
That would be fascinating
The enthusiasm behind that "Clash On!" is gonna have me smiling the rest of the day. That was beautiful.
It should be shown to the audience the win con of each player at the end of the game or it should be at the comments, cause with the course of the game we end up only knowing 2 of them
Carl's was probably "get someone to X life" with X = 50 or something, but I'm very confused about Fele's.
My guess for Carl is have every player above 40 life. My guess for Fele is have every player control a permanent you own. I think the goat was a red herring but I’m not sure
Hey! fele here. Carl had to give every player 80 life and I had to do damage to every player with a goat. sorry for letting you hanging ;)
@@CardmarketMagic I was waiting for the blood moon the whole time, rip.
@@CardmarketMagic Wow, who wrote the secret tasks and why do they hate Carl?!
Tomer looks happier with this crew
And they are really into "Clash On!" which is a big bonus.
Part of the joy of Commander Clash is them trolling each other, in only the way longtime friends can. 😅
Obviously because Toffel is in this crew ❤
It's the Clash Ons he deserves! 🤣
MTG Goldfish is also played online. You can see it in the Vegas episode on Commander clash, but he's more like this in person. :)
Lunch video sorted
Hahaha my exact thought when I saw this and immediately clicked during lunch break
Is there a crack in the top-down view camera?
Yeah, it looks like a fracture on the primary
I thought I had broken my brand new MacBook screen and was terrified
No there's a spider in your phone.
@@dicejohnson8919 omg same
33:27 I love seeing Fele in more videos! He's so funny
Tomer and the maple syrup jug is hilarious.
Toner finally gets his wholehearted “clash on” 😂
Aww Tomer finally assembling Kaldra without his troll friends doing everything in their power all game to stop him was very heartwarming. Congrats Tomer!
I mean... he _did_ have his entire library removed from the game before he had all the pieces in hand :P
I mean, still got path'd.
Basically the good ending to this vid.
th-cam.com/video/-0cJhi6ERbk/w-d-xo.html
This is the most wholesome and enjoyable magic content on the internet. I love you guys and keep up the good work!!!
Thank you :D that's so kind of you to say!
-C
I love the chaotic energy at the table with this game! Fele, you did a great job with the edit and you have my sinserest condolences for having to deal with all those Myr tokens
Really wish we knew what the others alternate Wincons were, non-the less loved the video and always happy to see the goldfish crew !
Since Fele's been going around replying to comments about wincons, I'll repost them here for convenience:
Carl's Wincon: He had to give every player 80 life
Fele's Wincon: He had to do damage to every player with a goat
Another amazing game guys! Tomer feels so natural with the crew.
Until the very last play I thought they all had to win with alternate win-con cards, not a hidden wincon. I thought Thoralf had some Triskaideka-Jank and was only bluffing that he needs 11 health, when indeed he needed 13 (but had healing on hand). I thought Tomer had Mechanized Production or Atemsis or also triskaideka-jank. Fele just had to kill everyone by forcing Leveler on them one by one. Aaand Carl had some Felidar Sovereign Card but for opponents, that I never heard of...
Those lines on the left of the screen made me think I cracked my monitor
Reminds me of Risk Secret Mission. I never would’ve associated them but when I heard envelopes they just became stuck together in my head
This is such a cool and interesting idea! What a fresh remix on MtG and the Commander format. I bet it was as fun to play as it was to watch! I just really wish you told us everyone's win condition at the end of the game.
Tomer was not able to get life from Carl, since he had protection from everything.
It was a very funny match overall ^^
I was here to say the same thing
I love how you keep coming up with new ideas for this channel and they keep being amazing
Seeing Cardmarket and MTGGoldfish do content together is like a dream come true :D Thank you so much for making it happen, guys :)
I've been loving these shenanigans with Tomer. Just great!
You should do this more often, it's super entertaining to watch :D
Nearly 10 minutes in and this is the most bizarre and jankiest series of interactions I've ever seen in a commander game. lmao I love the back and forth non-blue counter war with trying to force your opponent to gain life.
Omg, are those strands of hair on the overhead camera?? Where did those black lines come from, I cannot unsee them and I'm only 1 minute in!!!
Thoralf droppin the iggy azalea lyric under his breath at 32:23 gave me a chuckle
Out of interest, what was with the goat? Also, what were the other win conditions (we know Thoralf's, but the other two)? Great game, though - would love to see this be a series or something!
Also want to know the win cons
Hey! fele here. Carl had to give every player 80 life and I had to do damage to every player with a goat. Hope you had fun!
@@CardmarketMagic Thanks so much, Fele! Don't worry - you're the GOAT of this game in our eyes 😜.
At 35:44 a rules violation occurred.
Reward the Faithful cannot target Tomer because he has protection from everything from The One Ring until his turn. That means the only valid targets were Thoralf, Carl and Fele. Even if it could target Tomer, the protection would have prevented it doing anything anyway.
It's not damage; Protection doesn't stop healing
Still couldn't have been targeted, but the last part of your statement is incorrect.
@@mrsplays9817protection doesn't prevent damage either, just life loss from damage. If you hit someone for lethal commander damage while they have protection from everything, they still die. Their life total doesn't change, but they still take the 21 damage.
@@collinbeal Protection stops damage
@mrsplays9817 My bad. I got "Protection from Everything" and "Your life total cannot change" on Teferi's Protection mixed up. If you have an effect that says "damage dealt this way can't be prevented" on your commander, and you hit someone for commander damage, if they cast Teferi's Protection in response, their life total doesn't change, but the damage is still marked on them. Honest mistake on my part. Before the One Ring, Teferi's Protection was pretty much the only time you dealt with PfE on a player, and I recalled an interesting ruling about commander damage being dealt and the life total not changing, but got the particulars mixed up. Good thing I'm not a judge 🤯👍
I thought my screen was cracked lol
You guys and your energy have dragged me back in, im appreciating the content guys!
Really loved the video and the concept, I may try this with my friends! Maybe next time tell the viewers the win con at the beggining of the video, almost like we are keeping a secret. That way we can root for each one in their win assembly!
This was super enjoyable, non knowing the different win conditions was a blast, good job guys
Carl's win con being that everyone has to be at 80 life seems way harder to achieve than all the other ones, his life being 80 seems like a more equal playing field to me
The problem is that giving yourself a ton of life is pretty easy in Commander. I agree that giving everyone 80 is pretty hard, but I think nerfing it to "make one of your opponents have 80 life" is probably better, although that might still be too easy considering cards like Axis of Mortality
@@theNightDice making it about an opponent is definately better; one also does not have to keep the value of 80; Axis does make it an upkeep trigger and Thoralf showed quite impressively how that can be abused
Maybe a Wincon like grant other players 80-100 life total would be better, but him keeping track of it the whole time would have given it away so someone off cam would have to keep track and let him know when he's close/there
I thought the mark on the divider between Tomer and Fele was a hair on my screen at first.
i think its the cutest thing in the world that y'all do a clash on for tomer every time hes on your channel
this is such a good idea of a game format!!!!! love the fact that everyone is secretly playing their own agenda
That was honestly awesome... Very cool idea for alternate commander! I have the kaldra package in 2 of my decks, such a fun set to try to get.
Great job goating and editing Fele, good job losing life Thoralf, good job clamping skulls Tomer, and good job being the nurse Carl 😂❤😂❤
Its a Saturday morning, breakfast is nearly ready and I see cardmarket uploaded a new fun edh video. Life is good.
32:23
Fele: "first things first"
Thoralf: "I'm the realist"
We see you, Iggy stan 👑
The overhead camera had something going on no on with it. I legit thought my tv had a crack in it, cause it was only when on the overhead when looked up at the beginning.
Didn't end up mattering, but Tomer would have had protection from Reward the Faithful. Great video!!
The second they all kept ganging on Thoralf after he was below 11 I knew someone else was going to do this. All three had the same idea, but only one can actually win.
42:20 He can sacrifice it, because it is a land. Yasharn does not forbid sacrificing lands.
45:40 Tomer's win condition seems to be a causal loop, if you win with the Kaldra token with combat damage you win. So he needs to win in order to win.
I'm guessing it is interpreted as, "If combat damage dealt by a legendary creature named Kaldra, equipped with Sword of Kaldra, Shield of Kaldra, and Helm of Kaldra, causes an opponent's life total to go to a number less than 1, you win the game."
But that's not what it said.
35:56 Tomer can't gain life because he can't be targeted (The One Ring ETB), and the card used by Carl states "any number of *target* players". This game was rendered void!
Awesome video!
I highly recommend you play Duel commander format.
1 vs 1 with 20 life and 99 cards deck with commander.
Banned sol ring, mana vault, jeweled lotus, etc.
Great game. Tons of fun and some might say this was the GOAT.
I have to ask however. What's up with the black lines on the left side of the screen? I thought my monitor broke initially :D
Same here! I was sure the screen was broken
People *wanting* and trying to do the Clash On? Madness!
Did anyone else notice the weird squiggle on the camera over Tomer and Fele's side of the table? It's only present when the camera is showing the whole board.
Is there something on the overhead camera?
That Tomer token being 'fired' was such a nice universe crossover! :D
me when the footage goes to overhead view
"crap... is my screen cracked?"
"oh, its just the video, thats fine."
3 minutes later
"Oh crap, is my screen cracked?"
Such a fun video, i did notice the weird black lines on the left side of the top down camera, thought my screen had an issue
Also, the music stops intermittently which is super weird when you notice it
Carl forcing Thoralf to gain life is like a parent trying to get a kid to eat their veggies/
Everyone forgetting Tomer had protection from the one ring, immediately after them saying he had protection is just the funniest thing.
did someone hold their card too high while casting a spell to damage the overhead camera ? looks like there are some cracks on the left side ? ^^´´ love the video : ) thanks for the content !
I scrolled so far through the comments specifically to find somebody else who saw the weird scratches on the left side of the top view camera and I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate you. 😅
I cannot believe how many times I blew on my screen and tried to wipe away what I thought were hairs on my screen. 😂
Their overhead v
Camera was cracked this video lol
Love creativity of this channel :-) Always something new, always hilarious :D
Super stoked to see Fele playing on the channel more! Super cool guy 😎
I spit water at "you have my goat" - best line yet
"im not - i have a goat" runner up
Tomer's look of surprised pleasure at having the Card Market crew enthusiastically yelling "clash on!" with him 😂
The goldfish crew should superimpose Carl's face over Crim in their next commander clash intro 😂
....I need to know. WHAT WAS THE GOATS REASON!?!?
Hey! fele here. I had to do damage to every player with a non-changeling goat.
I want more of this matches (preferably commander) with alternate win goals
Awesome video! The goat was the best thing and had me laughing throughout the game! 😂 More of these please, and also echoing the suggestion that if you let us know the wincons in advance have a fair spoiler warning! Not knowing was much more enjoyable.
I love your videos so much. Especially commander and with this absurd rules it's perfect.
Damn, I was sure the goat wincon was 'have to get the goat killed by an opponent's deliberate action' XP
The exile zone returns
I love commander and alt win cons. Thank you so much!
50 years from now we'll all be lying in our deathbed, wondering what was the secret of the goat
AHHH a line in you mat made me think my screen was cracked
HE ASSEMBLED ALL PIECES OF EXODIA MAGIC
Tomer So happy with that Clash On! 😂
Honestly when I saw that title I just thought “That’s just a normal commander game”
That was interesting! Like a hidden roles game but through Magic.
MORE OF THESE!! love it!
From the title this seems like a normal EDH game, will check back when I’m done
@cardmarket you guys should switch the rotation of the camera angel on top down view so that Tomer is top left as it would make more sense with your side orientation
Is it just me or does the overhead cam have cracks in the lens on Tomer/Fele’s side?
I need to know what was fele’s win condition now
If I had to guess it had something to do with other players controlling his permanents. Maybe specifically something to do with the goat and a few other weird creatures but the goat might have just been in there as an innocuous creature to give away.
Maybe have a goat and goad three players. Goa(t/d) everyone .
Hey! fele here. Good guesses! Here's the truth: Carl had to give every player 80 life and I had to do damage to every player with a goat. Hope you had fun!
35:47 he has protection so you couldn't target him with the healing.
Oh look, Tomer's here, I wonder if he's gonna try to assemble --- oh, there he goes... 😅
I got some Ideas for this format xD If you like to do it, id be happy^^
For up, i wanna say sorry for my bad English, im not nativ, im just a poor german fellow xD
Win condition 1:
You have to end your turn with 9 cards in hand and start your next turn with 0 cards in hand. (I dont know if the cards, that you can ignore Handsize is currently legal and in the rotation or if it is not.
Win Condition 2:
You have to have 3 Creatures with the same toughness in play as you have life, during your Upkeep.
Win Condition 3:
You have to use 20 mana in one turn. (Number can vary if it is too easy or to hard, i dont know all cards, i basicly know magic only from your channel and a bit with friends)
Win condition 4:
After your Draw-Step no player has a Card in hand. So, you basicly have to find a way to not draw a card and have everyone discard theire cards before that
(Additional Win-Cons if those dont go well together 1 and 4 for example)
- Deal 20 Combat Dmg to every player in one turn (numbers may vary)
- Play X Amount of Instants during your Opponents turns
- Make a player Discard more than 10 Cards in one turn
- Have everybody at the Same amount of HP, that isnt 40 (or with how much life you will begin in this particular game)
- Assamble 1 Land of every Color and every dual-Land possibility
Well, i would love to see another round of this bizzare Adventure :D
Thanks for reading if you made it down here, enjoy your day and i wish you the best of luck with everything in your life!
14:20 hey carl, do you like billy talent? you said fallen leaves :D
I want a whole huge list of these random wincons! this game variant looks super fun and could lead to some creative deck building.
I would suggest that each wincon would be required to say check like in chess. "I'm going to win on my next upkeep if you don't stop me" feels better than winning out of nowhere.
I mean, kind of hard with some of the conditions. Like you don't know if you're gonna suddenly draw the last of the Kaldra pieces.
@@xchronox0 the kaldra turned out fine because everyone was super suspicious of Tomer's kaldra pieces. But the game would've been super quick and unsatisfying if Thoralf's win didn't get countered.
Almost every card that lets you win the game in an alternative way has to be around for a full turn cycle before you win. I love those types of cards, and when I play test of endurance it feels interesting and satisfying as my opponents to figure out how to deal enough damage to me, or remove it. But winning instantly with a 2 card combo feels less satisfying, (unless we're playing cedh, where it's expected that players should have instant speed answers). That's why I don't play vedalken orrerry in my test of endurance deck, because it doesn't feel satisfying to win out of nowhere.
Would love another of these :D
Curious to know, whats the overlay with the overhead cam over near Tomer's board, is it a cracked lens or something? Great video btw!
i would recommend working a little more on the pre-game you could have made a really fun into where you showed a clip of someone (jamin for instance) writing the win cons and putting them in the letters then giving them to the players randomly and showing there reaction, i think it would help build a better relationship with your viewers to see you guys doing little things like that. also it then gets everyone watching thinking about the win cons and what the players are going to do, its like if a cooking show didnt say what was being made and food just popped in then the judges ate it off screen lol.
The content has been getting better and better recently! 🎉❤
What are the thin dark lines above Tomer and Fele's battlefields on the top-down camera angle? Shadows of cables/wires?
