TBF, David Tennant has been: a Time Lord, a droid (Huyang- Star Wars), a demon/angel (Crowley- Good Omens), A Wizard (Barty Crouch Jr.- Harry Potter), A Viking/Dragon rider (Spitelout- How to Train Your Dragon), And many more. Space Marine and Ring bearer don't seem too out of place lol
mmm not a space marine Ghal Maraz isn't an item from 40K it's from Warhammer Fantasy, and later, Age of Sigmar. It was gifted to prince SIgmar when his warbrand rescued High King Kurgan Ironbeard from the orc warlord Vagraz Headstomper. In the Age of Sigmar, Sigmar, now a god, bestows his hammer to his greatest champion, the Celestant-Prime.
I know we joke about the crossovers with Universes Beyond but this is actually quite fun. Where else you would see a Time Lord equipped with a Warhammer attacking Gandalf the Grey?
Not sure if anyone else pointed this out: unless I missed something, the warrior tokens created during the first combat step should not have been able to attack during the extra combats as they did not have haste. Even though they came into play attacking in the first combat, they still should have summoning sickness. Najeela's ability gives haste, but Aggrevated Assault doesn't.
What excellent tactics from Commissar Kenobi! He obviously knew Carl’s deck was the biggest threat if it could get going. That and Warhammer definitely had a better card pool.
I'm glad PleasantKenobi was here. Because the other 3 played the same game of commander that happens each time. Carl and Jamin team up vs Thoralf and ignore Jamin while he builds crazy board states.
To be fair on this one, the 10th Dr. deck starts to get out of hand pretty quickly. If they hadn't kept going at Thoralf he would've had a huge advantage.
People used to joke about these specific scenarios like they were gonna be lame, this ruled Also what kind of black magic was Vince using after getting 3 or 4 triggers from Atalan Jackal with Najeela in the command zone and somehow convincing everyone that Thoralf was the problem
The Tenth Doctor was my first Commander deck. Everyone at the table is always so scared of it. Play Rose on Turn 2 and become archenemy for a 2/2 that might kill you with commander damage 5 turns from now. The deck is all durdle and no hurtle. It does so many things, but very few of those things advance a win condition. It is equal parts frustrating and funny to pilot an archenemy deck that can't win.
28:28 Now I *really* want a Doctor Who/LotR crossover where the Doctor first succumbs to the temptation of the ring and uses its power and then slowly overcomes it!
At 34:30 the token couldn't attack because it was previously put into play tapped and attacking, and Vince activated Aggravated Assault which doesn't grant haste. Then he did it again at 38:00.
I've been loving these party-style games (party box, commander, etc), as opposed to 1v1s. Both are great and have their own merits but it's been fun seeing everyone together. Cool to see PleasantKenobi on, haven't seen his stuff before but he's fun
Love PK. Him, Frank and Andrea are like the holy trinity of guests for me, all of them make for great content that each scratches a totally different itch
It didn't particularly matter here because of the overwhelming board state, but activating Aggravated Assault wouldn't give the Warrior tokens that Najeela created that turn haste, so they wouldn't be able to attack during the subsequent combats of the turn.
Loved this episode! For future content: im pretty sure Vince couldnt have attacked twice with any fresh Najeela tokens he untapped with Aggravated Assault during that same turn since they dont have haste? Najeela’s ability does give haste though so it probably didnt matter.
i feel the need to point out (very lately) that since the judoon creature was bounced before damage was dealt, kenobi would not have gained 6 life and therefore would not have been able to bring back something from his graveyard 31:13
Sorry i gotta be a nerd here, vorpal swords come from the poem the jabberwocky, in DnD vorpal is a prefix and can go in front of any weapon, so you could have vorpal nunchaku or a vorpal warhammer
34:35 slight misplay. The warrior token doesn't get to attack. It entered attacking but it doesn't have haste and unlike Najeela, aggravated assault doesn't give haste.
This video was incredible. You folks are slaying with your content! Also, scanned the comments and didn't see this so I think I get to be THE RULES GUY today! On that last attack, the warrior tokens couldn't attack. They were created by Archaeon tapped and attacking, but they don't have haste.
I was really hoping this would be a legacy video when I saw the notification preview. Still happy, but I would love to see Legacy 40k Miracles vs Doctor Who Boros Stompy.
Awesome content. Was hoping for LOTR/D&D to win, since I like silly commander shenanigans more than aggressive games, but this was great nonetheless. Maybe do the same with different standard sets? The Ixalan decks video was great, and a commander version with 4 sets would be really interesting.
I love the commander content. So much fun watching you play. This time you explained a little bit less then usual, It would be nice to have a small introduction of each deck you are playing with. Maybe you didn't want to spoil the video?
Every time we ever got vorpal swords in D&D we would end up accidentally murdering party members with them, so it makes good thematic sense that Carl died in this way
I was wanting to recreate the decks, but I am noticing that the decklist for Jamin, the Lord of the Rings is missing 31 cards. The other decks are looking good and I'm looking forward to testing them out in my own commander group!
I feel like people just ganged up on Thoralf this game. But I have a Tennant deck and know how crazy it can be if left alone, and also it's Thoralf, so probably deserved.
Question: Was Archaon being played wrong? They treated him as if he summoned Warrior tokens, thus growing exponentially since his tokens summoned tokens. But actually he summons Soldier tokens, which aren't Warriors? Right? Or am I just confused?
🧙♂☠🐲⏲Decklists: bit.ly/3U1phwC
Is Jamin's decklist missing stuff? Why is it only 69 cards?
Where did you get that doctor who deck box?? Looks cool!

clearly it's Gandalf, I see no Jamin there
I thought it would be xptolvl3
No, Who was Thoralf. I dunno the new guy though...

So David Tenant is not only a Time Doctor, but also a ring-bearer and a member of the Space Marines. Seems about right.

Carl: if a man with a beard tells you he's disappointed... (at a table where everyone has a beard.)
That was my thought, too, haha!
He meant THE beard, I believe
Generous to call Thoralf's scruff a beard 😄
There's a rather extensive difference between having some facial hair, which could maybe pass as a beard and A BEARD.
I love this concept. Having Vince be the WH40K deck is just great.
Isnt Archaeon only Warhammer Fantasy though?
yeah archaeon isn't from 40k
I love how there is no context or introduction
@arnejoost4204 Vince says that he has fantasy, AOS and 40k stuff in his deck
@@QuixoticCowboyand BB apparently, so he’s playing a GW themed deck
why is this episode just PleasantKenobi showing off nerd chops for 40 minutes straight.
Because he’s a Warhammer warlord
Gotta have them nyd bois riding bikes and spittin nerd facts.
Cause it’s what we didn’t know we needed and it is also beautiful!

That's the most accurate W40K cosplay I've ever seen
