Great video, nice flying! One small hint for everybody: the real Dash 8 resp. the rudder needs to be trimmed constantly during flight. The autopilot simply cannot move the rudder, as e.g. an airbus does. Pilots do that almost every minute, in windy conditions sometimes more often! If you look on your PFD, you'll see a white triangle with a white dash below. Always trim to the side, where the dash tilts over to.. they should both be aligned. At 31:21 you do that and corrected the slip flight of the aircraft with the trim to the left. But apart from that, great flying, entertaining video and nice graphics! All the best from Austria!

In answer to your question about holding fuel, if I remember correctly, minimum holding fuel for an aeroplane with reciprocating engines (I.e props), is 45mins at 1500ft above aerodrome level. The 462 is probably therefore 45 mins fuel; the small differences being due to airport elevation and weather conditions!
Oh, that final approach was great. I never thought the Dash 8 could make it down like this.However, when you look at what aircraft where built by DeHavilland Canada ( Dash 7), than it makes sense that the Q400 can do insane things. Perhaps a Q400 video again?

Anyone know what the purple flashing areas represent as part of the weather systems alerts? I take it to be dangerous weather best avoided, but if anybody could elaborate that'd be great! Another great video, Matt!
I think you're right. The quality of FSX/P3D add-ons are well above X-Plane's, currently, anyway. Just looking at the cockpit alone from this Dash 8 shows how much more talented the teams are making these add-ons. The textures, the systems, not loaded with random bugs, etc. I truly do love X-Plane's engine, and scenery, and flight modeling, but I really hope a quality add-on makes it's way to the platform. (PMDG is beta testing their first X-Plane add-on I believe, so maybe a port for the beautiful 737 isn't too far off!)
qqqqhuz I do own X-Plane, and you're right, there are *some* quality add-ons. The experience I've had so far, (even with Carenado) has been less than stellar (in regards to bugs). That Saab you mentioned is fairly new right? I'll have to check it out, thanks for the recommendation.

Hey Matt now that the creator of vPilot has removed the IVAO MTL model matching sets from the server what are you doing for your rule sets for vatsim flying. This has been giving me a lot of trouble the past few days

I have a problem. the thing is that i've downloaded vpilot and fsx and all that stuff but i cant install or find or even like download matchmaking models for Vatsim like for vpilot pls pls pls help, i dont know what to do. the only thing i find is:" oh yeah matchmaking stuff go to IVAO......... Yeah but the fking thing is that vpilot or Vatsim doesnt support IVAO anymore pls i need help i can join a ts server i have skype pls help me, im getting frustrated.

@Matt Davies Hey mate! I'm in need of your help with something regarding the Majestic Dash-8 Q400. I can't land the bloody thing, because when i try to land using a localizer / ILS Approach if you will, when i turn off the AP, the plane just faceplants the ground or starts doing barrel rolls!! And that is indeed quite frustrating (Especially when playing on VATSIM!) So anyways, i hope you can help me, because that sort of fixes every problem there ever was for me lol! xD Regards, -Oliver

Matt, loved the video. When you reduce throttle at the top of your decent path, you talk in terms of torque? Is there a professional reason behind why this is done, rather than say reducing to a specific speed? Cheers :-)
Hi Matt, I'm thinking about buying a net PC, but I have a question about what processor I should choose. I'm looking at an I5-4690K @ 4.5Ghz. Or an I7-4790K @ 4.5Ghz? Does P3D V2.5 use all the threads off the I7? Or should I get an I5 and buy a better graphics card?

I was in the cockpit it a q400 today and noticed there is nothing behimd the radio stack and that the left FMC is where they keep v speed note's
