I agree! Great video. Request: There's a huge lack of Transatlantic flights here. Dublin is now 5th busiest Transatlantic hub in Europe. How about Dublin-Philadelphia? Or NY, BOS, Washington, SFO, Chicago etc? There all beautiful fights and are only 6 hours if you fly to the east coast. Like this!
Great video Matt, this had everything: traffic, weather, beautiful views (the bird strike view from the engine being my favourite) and a greased landing. Nice one.
Thanks so much! Your professional approach and easy, straight to the point commentary makes your videos 'works of art' and excellent learning tools. I even watch them to relax...
Welcome back to Australia Matt :) Normally a flight from that direction would take the BOREE6 arrival, which sends you out to the western side of the airport and then ends in vectors for the ILS approach. And yes, SOSIJ is a real waypoint, it's right next to SIZZL. In Brisbane there is an arrival with LEAKY, BOATS, SINNK, in that order :P
John Dennis As self loading freight, I quite like the 16L approach over Chatswood and then to the slight west of the city and direct into the airport. Very tourist friendly. www.airservicesaustralia.com/aip/pending/dap/SSYII08-142.pdf
Hi there, great video once again. I was following your flight along with the vatsim events. In fact, the BAW15 you're talking about stealing your call sign was me! I started fangirling like when extras see themselves in a movie. :) "That's me, that's me!!!"
Really enjoyed it, thanks for posting! Learnt some great things I'm going to use on my next 777 flight. Just FYI, only mistake I saw was setting the Standard Altimeter setting (1013.2) on climb, and the Local ONH (1028) on descent. You set the 1013.2 on climb. Correct method is to set 1013.2 at the Transition Altitude when climbing (WSSS Trans Alt 11,000 ft), and set the local QNH (1028 hpa in this case) at the Transition Level when descending (YSSY Trans Level FL110). If you set 1028 hpa (like you did while at cruise FL370), and (for example) only descend to FL210 and hold at that Level due ATC, you will be using the wrong Altimeter pressure setting! Pressure decreases with altitude at 1hpa per 30 feet (to 500 hpa), so using 1013.2 at mean sea level, FL210 (21000/30=700. 1013-700=313 hpa). We obviously cant set 313 hpa on the altimeter subscale, so we set 1013.2 to put us all on the same page (above the Trans Level)! We use QNH (Q Code, Nil Height) to all be on the same page below the Trans Alt. Flight inbetween these (The Transition Layer) is forbidden. Hope this helps, happy aviating! Daryl (Retired ATR72 Capt. Air Mandalay)
Like this!
As a rule, international flights use the 34L/16R runway, domestic flights normally use 34R/16L which means they're landing as close as possible to the terminals they're going to use.
You're getting absurdly creative with these views Matt! The left engine was a personal favourite :) Great series, nice to see more videos more frequently!
you always have the best flight sim great graphics and love that you don't just make a vid of you just frying the plane its good to hear the calling signs and the interaction with you and the tower
Hey Matt not sure if someone has mentioned it so...its std procedure all through Asia to call for clearance 5 minutes before push after doors close. You do all your briefs etc off your planned clearance. This is because the level of traffic and crossing over and around most Asian airports and the difficulty in coordinating clearances. If you have not called for push within 5 they WILL call you cancelling your airways clearance starting the whole process again. Std all over ie Singapore, Bangkok, KL, Phuket, Bali, Jakarta etc etc. Japan does not use this system but you will have no idea of the runway you will use till you call for taxt. Cool vid showing off the Pmdg triple. Well done! Ps NC taxiway or SC are NorthCross and Southcross respectively. The only thing not modelled is the follow the greens taxilight system..lol
Great video as always ! :) However I had one suggestion. When you are receiving taxi instructions for departure and when you are planning your landing and where you'll vacate the runway, it may be cool to have the ground chart displayed with a drawn track showing where you'll taxi for example. Otherwise we are just listening to taxiway indications without knowing what does it represent. Thank you again for your work Matt. ;)
should've used the BOREE6 34L. In Australia IFR flight plans 95% of the time have the last waypoint being directly over the airport so the STAR waypoint is before that. in your FP BOREE was before TESAT. TESAT used to by SY but they changed it :)
Dublin EIDW - Dubai OMDB is a beautiful flight for the Emirates 777. Lovely change of scenery from the two diverse continents and astounding aerodrome scenery for both airports. Like this comment so Matt sees it and does it!
The Sydney scenery is that good, that apparently, the FlyTampa website temporarily went down there were so many orders!! Anyways, great vid Matt!! Hope to see more in Sydney and Australia in general!
One of your best Matt. A great video. You've convinced me to buy FlyTampa Sydney. Please advise what the music is from the 40:30 mark. Welcome to Australia. As a local near YPPH it's good to see you 'downunder'. Hope to see maybe some (short) 737NGX flights such as YSSY-YBBN, YBBN-YBCS, YMML-YSCB using the great Orbx airport add-ons. Great work, keep it up.
Matt's so chill when he's on VATSIM. "Yeah...were ready to copy.." and me over like "UM....uh..ok...copy..please? um wait....repeat,everything please? um..ok thanks..."
Great flight. I love how folks from other parts of the world consider this an ultra long haul flight, but it's what we have to do any time we're going outside of south east Asia. :) The Melbourne - Sydney run is one of the busiest air corridors in the world, it would be great if you could fly QF or VA - it's about an hour long flight. If you go JQ, they have the 787 that can do it in about 50-55 minutes. If you're going to do some GA in Australia, there's so much great stuff - in the NT, you can even land on some of the roads. Point Cook airfield in Victoria is the world's oldest continuously operational airfield in the world. I did a TIF down there - flying from there, via Angelsea, Lorne and then Apollo Bay along the coast is just tremendous in real life.
***** Also, there is a lot of noise abatement at Sydney, with a curfew, which is why so many flights aim to get there first thing in the morning. However, some of the approaches are over some of the most densely populated suburbs, and yet they are some of the most scenic. Check out the 16L approaches from Air Services Australia - I think if you re-did the landing, it would be a lot more scenic.
Oh my lord, FlyTampa YSSY is gorgeous! I have to admit I'm not a big airport addon fan (VAS/FPS etc.) but this might sway me.... (off to watch the rest of the vid now, cheers Matt!)
***** Which Singapore scenery did you use? What did you think of it? Nice flight, from Boree6 you should have been vectored to wake everyone up in the western suburbs of Sydney and then vectored on to approach for 34L. The real flight is my alarm for getting up in the morning.
Great vids, I watch them all! Got a question though; At around 40:28 background music starts. Afterwards comes, a second theme song. It sounds really good, what are the artists? Regards from EKBI.
Matt, when your on the ground instead of always using the MFD below the EICAS, use the inner MFD on the captains side. Just for an extra sense of realism as the actual 777 crew tend to use the function regularly
Cracking effort once again- always enjoy your vids. If you want to use Sydney again, what about a Sydney-Kai Tak flight- perhaps run a freighter variant or something? Would be a good chance to compare the difference in FT scenery past & present too...
Very nice Matt, I enjoyed it a lot. I know you put like 12 hr work in a video wich takes 1 hour, thank you for sharing this with us, you're a talented person.
Hi Matt, have you tried the Carenado Hawker 850XP? That looks like such a beautiful plane. Expensive but so nice. I am hoping Carenado have a summer sale.
I fly the 777 300ER alot for emirates and the tilt off centre is a massive annoyance and researched that it cannot be be changed as it is 'hard coded' into P3D and FSX :(
Great video Matt, I enjoy the way how you perform these videos it's just amazing and will be able to do a flight from YSSY to KLAX with Xplane 10 new Ramzees A330 and I'm not sure if that plane is capable of flying that route or could you please be able to do a VFR flight with ATC which ever country is suitable for you.....!!!! Watching your videos gives me knowledge about how to talk to ATC stuff like that but anyway well done mate nice video....!!!!
Nice job. Hmm route request...I've always wanted to see a video of the noise abatement departure out of John Wayne, then you could go onto SFO or Vegas. That's all in PilotEdge territory as well!
What scenery are you using for EGLL and WSSS? Yesterday I flew the opposite route, (BAW 16) and as I was coming into EGLL after 12 hours and 45 minutes, I had an OOM. I was an idiot for NOT saving my flight...
Hi Matt. Very nice video indeed :). I´m wondering if you are really a pilot or just someone who loves planes. I really wanted to learn how to use FSX... Under your opinion, hows the best way to learn to use it as you do?? Many thanks in advance.
Hey Matt, awesome video just like always. Could you tell us what is the song called what you play always during the cruise? It is really awesome and peaceful, nice song for a long haul or even for a short haul cruise. Thank you!
My suggestion for your next flight using B777-300 PMDG is VHHH to KSEA using Taxi2Gate scenery. Would be good to see how the long haul navigation goes over the large pond (called the Pacific).
Matt, how do you start your descents. Do you have to set the altitude in the MCP or is the 777 like aerosofts Airbus where it'll descend when in manage mode?
Try Ethiopian Airlines ETH500 Addis Ababa - Dublin - Washington
You can do it the the -200 or the -300
It only stops in Dublin for refueling though.
Nice idea
Nathan Gray I'll second that, that's a very nice idea
Like this!
Hi Matt! Was the ground controller last night, it was a great pleasure to have you in WSSS last night and on behalf of SINvACC thanks for flying!:D
Rest in piece Matt - you will be missed
Great video Matt, this had everything: traffic, weather, beautiful views (the bird strike view from the engine being my favourite) and a greased landing. Nice one.

+John Dennis Airservices have a sense of humour ;)
I just flew the leaky boats sinnk approach into Brisbane on FSX yesterday! Funny I saw this comment the next day.
Hi there, great video once again. I was following your flight along with the vatsim events. In fact, the BAW15 you're talking about stealing your call sign was me! I started fangirling like when extras see themselves in a movie. :) "That's me, that's me!!!"
Thank you for another great video. Just wondering if you could maybe sometime fly to South Africa, OR Thambo international in Johannesburg?
Great two parter Matt. The longer videos for long haul really help show the distance covered!
Really enjoyed it, thanks for posting! Learnt some great things I'm going to use on my next 777 flight. Your videos are on point every time, also got to say that your on a roll with content upload at the moment. Keep up the good work and thank you!
Only just discovered your channel! Love the in-depth videos , keep up the great work Matt!
Like this!
You should do a short flight from Sydney to Adelaide using the PMDG Qantas livery.
As a rule, international flights use the 34L/16R runway, domestic flights normally use 34R/16L which means they're landing as close as possible to the terminals they're going to use.
Hope you enjoyed flying out during our event today! See ya!
You're getting absurdly creative with these views Matt! The left engine was a personal favourite :) Great series, nice to see more videos more frequently!
I recently photographed BA15 arriving into SYD an hour and a half late. It benefited me as I was able to photograph it :)
Matt Tornto via Vancouver as ACA34 in the B777-200LR next?
Yessss
I live in Sydney and really admire your capabilities.. You make it sound so simple and relaxed. I'd love to see what kit you have - controllers etc.
Just bought it!!! Amazing scenery! Now for the Delta Airlines and Air Canada ULH's on the 77L. As always Great vid Matt.
you always have the best flight sim great graphics and love that you don't just make a vid of you just frying the plane its good to hear the calling signs and the interaction with you and the tower

Thanks for flying in Matt! Didn't expect you to catch us on our 20hrs event :) I apologize for my voice server.. It did GG out haha
Great video as always ! :)

FLYTAMP Sydney is just soo cool left me speechless. Btw matt that video was amazing keep up the good work!

Great flight Matt! Fly Tampa is looking great. Greetings from Australia mate!!
Qantas 737s do flights from Singapore to Perth, I think Christmas Island which is west of western Australia...
Copenhagen to New York Newark a330 Scandinavian airlines

Beautiful video Matt! As always I'm jelly of the graphics. I'll see you on Twitch, there will be a little surprise from me. :)
Flightbeam Studios KSFO HD wil soon be released, before the end of summer. So a flight between Sydney and San Francisco would be amazing to see.
Hornet J As far as I can tell, FlightBeam's stuff is unmatched. Even FlyTampa stuff doesn't look as good.
Ya i have x-plane 10 and my computer has 4 gigs of ram but I'm not sure on the VAS limit but thanks for the input i really appreciate it +Mirandorl
Matt's so chill when he's on VATSIM. "Yeah...were ready to copy.." and me over like "UM....uh..ok...copy..please? um wait....repeat,everything please? um..ok thanks..."
Another wonderful video from Matt. Thank you so much for sharing your epic journey on this 2 part video starting from London. A++++

Another amazing video, like always! Brilliant! Your content ceases to amaze me!
25:40 What callsign is that? I'm really intreagued and I just can't hear it
Pretty sure it's just Speedbird 15.
Beautiful flight as always! would love to watch a tutorial by you on how to program the FMC for beginners!
Just one more "thank you!", Matt! My favourite flight sim channel!!!
Matt, awesome content, thanks. Makes me want to jump back in the 777 soon as
Awesome 2nd part Matt, thank you for putting out such awesome content :)
Great vids, I watch them all! Got a question though; At around 40:28 background music starts. Afterwards comes, a second theme song. It sounds really good, what are the artists? Regards from EKBI.
Hey Matt. Great video! As a fellow sub, I enjoy every bit of your content so keep up the good work! 👍🏼👍🏼😉
That speedbird 15 was a 777-200er! Cool video Matt!👍👍
Matt, when your on the ground instead of always using the MFD below the EICAS, use the inner MFD on the captains side. Just for an extra sense of realism as the actual 777 crew tend to use the function regularly
+Matt Davies you should fly an Avroliner in X-Plane. Maybe a CityJet from EGLC to EHAM?
Cracking effort once again- always enjoy your vids.
If you want to use Sydney again, what about a Sydney-Kai Tak flight- perhaps run a freighter variant or something? Would be a good chance to compare the difference in FT scenery past & present too...
Matt, your landings...insane mate, keep up the great work

Great video! You should do a short flight from Sydney to Brisbane with the Airbus X you could do a Jetstar flight. Great video again!

Usually departures to Australia from Singapore uses the ANITO SID :)
I love your video's so much!! Keep up the amazing work!
You know... Considering im having to be up at 7am this morning for Cosford Airshow, it was worth it for the beauty of this flight. Thanks *****
Nice job. Hmm route request...I've always wanted to see a video of the noise abatement departure out of John Wayne, then you could go onto SFO or Vegas. That's all in PilotEdge territory as well!
The Singapore Ground/Tower ATC really does have that "Singaporean" accent
+Avengyy Cuz it is a Singaporean
4 vídeos in a week??? I love you man :D
Excellent video dude. What peripherals do you use?
I know that but in most flight sims you can enter a multi player server
Please do EasyJet a319 from Leeds to Venice!!
YES!!!!
Great idea
That would be awesome
Is it a real route?
i think so
what do you have load for this viewing besides P3D? i want the same beautiful show
I think it'd be fantastic to see a flight from Sydney to Los Angeles. Make it so! Well done on the video.
what song was in your wing view part i liked it including the flight it was great
I actually handle BA15 arrival cargo for a living and its really cool to see this in a game.
whoa amazing video! really liked it
i have to say my good sir you just got a subscriber
What scenery are you using for EGLL and WSSS? Yesterday I flew the opposite route, (BAW 16) and as I was coming into EGLL after 12 hours and 45 minutes, I had an OOM. I was an idiot for NOT saving my flight...
what's the name of the music used in this video?
i like the music you were using in your wing view what was it called
Nice trip!!! How do you get British airlines and virgin Australia on Fsx Please Help
Have been following this channel for nearly half a year, superb!!!
Btw, would you mind doing maybe a CX route?
Cheers.
Hi Matt. Very nice video indeed :). I´m wondering if you are really a pilot or just someone who loves planes. I really wanted to learn how to use FSX... Under your opinion, hows the best way to learn to use it as you do?? Many thanks in advance.
How did you get the gates to work, it was my understanding that you must have AES which is incompatible with P3D..
what song did you use in your in flight section of the video its good and the flight was awesome nice job
Matt 4th video !!!! Thank you
I like all your videos
Very nice touchdown and a very nice video. Beautiful.
"That charlie 20 sign obviously doesn't like life"...nailed it...laughed my ass off
Hi matt i know ur really busy but could you please send me links to everything you have bought and downloaded as love your fs videos thanks
Hey Matt, awesome video just like always. Could you tell us what is the song called what you play always during the cruise? It is really awesome and peaceful, nice song for a long haul or even for a short haul cruise. Thank you!
Taxiway NC3 in Changi is North Cross 3 :)
What is that really carm song that he plays when he does the no commentary parts after takeoff and in climb and cruise
50:39, how did you set your view like that ._.
Yuta Miura He probably used EZ-DOK, but you could do it using the combinations of backspace, enter, shift and CTRL in P3D.
Mirandorl Thanks :) I too use EZDOK, but dont know how to get there xD
Yuta Miura You hold down scroll wheel and use the arrow keys.
Nice video! Was amazing!
I would like to see Dusseldorf EDDL to Dubai OMDB with the 777 of Emirates :)
Hello, was just wondering what your computer specs are, as I have lag if I perform the same flight you are showing us in the video.
What is this world cam fix you mentioned? I thought the camera shift was an inherent FSX problem? Happy flying! *****
Could you do a video from London to Mumbai?
Would be really special for me
My suggestion for your next flight using B777-300 PMDG is VHHH to KSEA using Taxi2Gate scenery. Would be good to see how the long haul navigation goes over the large pond (called the Pacific).
Matt, how do you start your descents. Do you have to set the altitude in the MCP or is the 777 like aerosofts Airbus where it'll descend when in manage mode?
How on earth do you not get any OOM ???
please advise as I have tried everything?
low settings etc etc
Please may I ask what is the time lapse song I really like it
thank you for 2 hours watching what's going on in the cockpit all that time :)
