    Very interesting, but how can you complain that the instructions don’t properly explain how darkslide and and processing tab are threaded (through the rollers etc) and then don’t show it yourself?!

    Production manager Chris here. Thanks for doing this unboxing and making a great video! We’re pleased ppl believe in the project and are listening to both the good and bad feedback and taking notes. There will be improvements in the near future, which will actually improve image quality significantly, but we have no aspirations (or delusions/abilities...) to compete with Fuji FP100C. Fuji is a multi-billion dollar company (trillion yen?!) and we are a small startup on Praterstraße in Vienna. (we also sell great coffee...) I wish people understood how small and scrappy our operation truly is! :-D Anyways, we learn from your comments and are doing the best with what we’ve currently got. Thanks again for the nice vid; maybe we can send you a fresh pack for another comparison when the new improvements are introduced... ✌️

    • @NicosPhotographyShow

      Thanks for passing by Chris, I have to say the product is flawless in operation, the film could improve but that will take time and resources. Count me in for any help I can provide, either testing or whatever could be needed.

    Great video! Thanks for the preview as I excitedly wait for my own pack.
    It's a bummer to see people being negative in the comments. I prefer results like this to my beautiful Land 195 becoming a paperweight. The price per shot is similar to shooting and processing fresh 4x5" slides. It's not a film you would use up with reckless abandon.
    I hope the One Instant is a big success and we see more (improved) films from them in the future, especially a black and white!

    • @NicosPhotographyShow
      @NicosPhotographyShow  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah, something is better than nothing, and to give them credit they made a film package that works, the film "is not great" but that can be done better or with other materials. So now we need them to change the ingredients as the box works!

      It is a sad thing that lots of people will never experience the Fp100c film anymore. Try and find some at least to have a small taste of history.

  • @SiriusXAim

    I miss FP100C a lot, but I'll skip on One Instant for the moment until its price becomes more resonable.
    By that I mean at least £2 per shot if not less. While I don't want to see them fail, having it as a super premium format that lacks the convenience of pack film, or the price of the old stuff makes it unusable for me. Original FP100C was £1 per shot, allowing it to be used in a rather.. unrestrained manner.
    I use Polaroids for candid shots, party photos, and trip images when going unique places. At about $11 per shot, I'd rather go towards the £15 per shot 8X10 polaroids sheets that produce a better result more suited for studio portraiture.
    I wish them well, and hopefully to at least be on the same level as Polaroid Originals in a few years.

    It's "Polaroid Week" again on Flickr as I type this and I am down to less than a dozen packs of FP100C and only 2 packs of FP3000. Both this video and taking/posting/seeing instant shots on Flickr give me pause and cause me to miss pack film even more.

    cool video, for me I stopped thinking about instant film when fuji was getting near the end of its production and I thought that was over priced back then and to see the prices today for film that does not work seems bit of a joke. For the price these instant films cost I would expect the same results as fuji used to give and not the Russian roulette results they are now known for.

    Thanks for this video! I was very sad to hear that Fuji have discontinued the FP-100 film, I have a Land Camera 103 and really don't want to let it go. Loved seeing your tests. As this new peel apart film is a project by the same people behind the old Impossible film, I'm wondering if this new film has stability issues? Have the images faded in any way, or developed something like the 'killer crystal' that the first Impossible films had? Or will these not be an issue as they are using (expired) Polaroid chemistry?

    Once again you picked a subject I am very interested in. I love your work and look forward to seeing new videos from you. I also backed The OneInstant Kickstarter campaign for exactly the same reason. We need to send a message to the broader community and especially the manufacturers that there is still a strong interest in high quality peel apart film. I was eagerly waiting for my OneInstant to arrive. Still keen to give it a go, but at least seeing your results my expectations have now been managed! I wonder if Fuji still have their left over FP100c chemicals that Supersense can “buy” and use for their next project? Over the last year I have bought 4 boxes of FP100c which is sitting in the fridge waiting for the right project. The cost per box was probably similar to what I paid for the 6 pack of OneInstant. I would love to see a video from you on how to bleach and preserve the Fuji negative! I haven’t read anywhere whether this is also possible for the OneInstant film? Keep up the good work Nico.

    • @MineCedi
      @MineCedi 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I think it's pretty impressive. I've been in Vienna at the manufactory and took a look at their experiments and process. Since they couldn't replicate the origami of FP100C, whatever measurements they retrieved from it weren't really that useful, so everything is based on their own experiments. The main problem is, that every variable influences the whole rest, and with experiments going for pressure, pod size, chemical amount, even the sticky paper bands on the edges, etc. it's really hard to finetune the whole film pack. Priority is functionality and an mostly even spreading, which seemed to be the hardest part of it. Now it's important that we give feedback, since this shouldn't be the only generation of One Instant and as Polaroids, it will certainly be an ongoing process of development, experimenting and finetuning

    Just wow.....all that packaging and materials for shitty quality results.
    Even though they may be recyclable there will still be processes along the way to produce this product and packaging that won't be eco friendly.

      Its the way they worked around the production issues. Hopefully it will all improve in the future, quality and packaging.
