      Thanks mate! Glad you enjoyed it :) yes the big boat adventures are fun but not achievable for everyone so this may inspire some land based fishos to get amongst it! 🤙

    I used to fish that rock wall at the boat harbour as a young fella, used to fish off the end. They were only just starting to build that section on the right when I was there.

      Yes I used to give it a go when I was younger too! Still a good spot to have a crack at but I think I got lucky with a cod that big :-)

    I would hook the fish in the middle, in a way that it bleeds a little bit and doesn't swim like a health fish, would attract something big for sure and would be pretty impossible to eat more than its tail without getting hooked. That fish was awesome! Good catch my friend, shame that wasn't sunny.

    Hello Icon!!! I'm really digging these fishing on the rocks vlogs!! You have some really unique terrain with those rock jetties lined up one after the other that must hide everything from Cod and Mangrove Snapper to Grouper and if you hit the current the right way, a host of pelagic species!! I'm curious though, are the rods more like Surf rods or are they their own specialized kit, along with the reel? I think it's a shame that no one has come up with a suitable looking robot fish lure with front and back facing cameras to pick up the takes. Something to look at doing with an old GoPro maybe, imbedded in the head and hook for a big plastic or something?! Could yield some freaky and fantastic footage!! I remember back a few years, a company marketed a camera that attached to your line called a "Water Wolf" but I never used one, and the company seems to have disappeared, but they had a sound looking product. I think a Lure Designer would have a blast developing a rechargeable robot bait fish with a 4K camera worked into it, right!?
    So onto the Family, how is Momma Tal doing? Any more kicking from the future wee Icon? I can't believe how fast the time is going, I have another trip to the west coast planned for the second week in June. Just a few days to see another band I like (One from the late 80's/early 90's called Images in Vogue). They were a very cool Canadian band whose drummer left to form another influential band that pioneered the industrial sound, they were called Skinny Puppy and have recently retired hence the reforming of Images in Vogue. If I can I'll try to meet up with my friend Chris who has a channel called PNW Samson here on the TH-cams. Otherwise I hope everything is going well for you, Mate! You must be almost to the point where the "Baby Arrival" panic has set in, where you think nothing is ready, and you need more time, but the little Miss has a schedule of her own and it has nothing to do with what you have planned. I won't tell you my experiences as everyone's is different, just try and enjoy this time cause little Miss Chaos will be exactly that Chaos!! lol I'm kidding, babies are the best!! A brand spanking new human that you get to mold into a future productive member of society. Which brings me to a story, many years ago I watched the comedian Steve Martin doing his stand-up which gave my Girlfriend and I an idea to teach our kid (if we had one,...we didn't) English incorrectly, so that one day the little chip off the old block would raise their hand in class to ask permission to go to the loo, but instead of the customary "May I please go to the bathroom, Teacher?" it would come out "Excuse me Dog Face, can I Mambo Sideways to the Banana Patch!?" Just a small bit of the power you wield when raising a new human!! I hope you guys have a great couple of weeks ahead of you, much Love to You and Tal(+1 Icon) and the Pups!! Take care - Dave

      Hey legend!! Sorry about the delayed reply on this one I wanted to make sure I got to everything haha I do remember those water wolf cameras they’re actually a sort after item by a lot of people very hard to find haha I’ve been looking in to a home made housing to tow along out of PVC pipe there’s some good diy ones out there :) the rock walls here are generally always associated with either a boat harbour or a passage out to sea to help break up the swell and waves. Generally good fish attracting areas too ;). Haha I’m sure there will be some quirky words coming out during the language barriers with the new one 🤣🤣🤣 hope you’ve been doing well mate !! Sending love and good vibes from our growing family to yours:)

      @@CoastalChaosAdventures I'd say you and Tal have your hands more than full just at the moment, so don't feel bad if you don't answer right off after, I'm not going anywhere and even if you miss one or two, I know you'll catch up when you can. I'm still doing okay, my shoulder surgery has been put off another year until I can meet yet another specialist, (the next Dr. is an Orthopedic Surgeon, so we shall see what gives when I see him) until then cortisone shots to help get me through. Believe it or not I'm still slowly amassing your Canadian Christmas and Welcome New Chaos package and saving for the cost to ship it. Like you guys in Australia, our costs for everything have skyrocketed under El Presidente, His Wokeness, Justin Trudeau. But it WILL get there even if I have to escape Canadaistan and hand deliver it!!! Take care, I see you've dropped another video, that I didn't get the notification for,...grrr. So I'm off to watch that after I get to some emails. Much Love to You and Tal and Baby, Indi & Bazz!!!

      hahaha I was struggling to stand up let alone carry a bucket as well lol on a calmer day with clear water maybe... We are pretty lucky we are about as far north as you can get without the crocodiles being an issue. Sharks on the other hand can come in pretty close so always have an eye out for them haha

  • @IKrish420
    @IKrish420 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    If you are fishing with circle hook you might be setting the hook too hard and the circle doesn't work properly. Not a pro, but some south african videos speaks of it

    • @CoastalChaosAdventures
      @CoastalChaosAdventures  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      yes I think I shouldn't be striking at all just let the fish take up the slack but also a bit hard when the fish is darting straight back in to the rocks so bit of a catch 22. I will try some other methods for that close quarters style fishing maybe a j hook setup I think
