Coastal Foraging at night for Big Crabs! With all the recent rains the crabs have been on the move and seeing them almost every fishing trip I had to give it a go and see if I could catch one by hand at night! Well we didn't just get one but an absolute monster!! Add a 3 hour reverse smoked beef slab to the mix and we have one of the most mouth watering Reef and Beef combos you'll see 👌👌
blend sweet port garlic powder brown sugar and chilli powder buy a butchers syringe pump liquid into brisket baist outside of brisket with same liquid it makes a heavenly smoked brisket
That was awesome Brett loved every minute of that one wow 👍 nice bloody crab well worth the effort stunning colours on the big boy. Dinner looked delicious as usual 💯✅ the smoker looks interesting I will have to check it out. Lovely to see Tal and Bubs too thanks for sharing legend catch you on the next one cheers mate 🍻
Glad you enjoyed it mate! Check out green mountain grills! They’re an amazing bit of kit… took me a fair while to save up for it but well worth it haha tal loves it more than I do 😂😂
First time trying it in the smoker mate she just rocked up as I filmed that ep. So the timing was spot on hahaha going to be hard to go back from that quality of steak now 🤤🤤🤙
@@CoastalChaosAdventures I've only even done a few easy smokes like fish and chicken. Haven't graduated to a real piece of meat yet. I've heard it's pretty addictive, so a little hesitant to try it 😬
Really well done on the video mate!! Wow, that crab was huge 😳 Well done for releasing the empty one too. My most recent video that I posted on my channel was doing this exact same thing and it is so much fun hey mate, love your work 😁👍🦀
Another Chaos video that was over too fast, what a monster muddie, i never knew muddies from the same spot could be in such different condition, or how to tell if they are, im still learning from the videos, Delicious looking feed and its great to see the three of you enjoying the good life.
Glad you enjoyed it mate! Yes we often get a mix of full and empty crabs when we have heeps of rain just seems to be a bit of a lucky dip haha . If there’s any parts of the shell that flex or feel thin and soft generally they’ll have next to no meat in them :)
Cool video mate I love what you do and your attitude towards fishing/boating! But unless you want a knock on the door by fisheries in the near future I’d remove or edit this video as it is illegal to use a net to take mud/blue swimmer crabs in QLD these days! I’m not having a crack at all dude just a heads up✌️
Cheers for the heads up mate! Could you put a link up for reference in the comments as I did my research before I went and on the QLD government fisheries section the only prohibited practice in QLD tidal waters was crab hooks, breathing apparatus, jagging or foul hooking and set nets across a navigational channel. Couldn’t see anything about a hand held scoop net.
That link relates to the commercial sector only mate… is there a recreational link of any alterations? I called the local authority and they weren’t aware of any landing net restrictions for recreational but said they’d have a look and get back to me …
It will be interesting to see what they come back at you with, the reason I know it because I’ve been here before with fisheries and the said the only equipment that can be used is listed as ‘fishing gear’ and a scoop net can only be used to land a line caught fish! And because it’s not listed doesn’t mean u can use it! ie- lasso or and spike/spear Interestingly they also told me that when they rewrote the laws a few years ago that there is now no size limit on crab pots!
Yea right!! That interesting… it does stipulate in the recreational aspect that you can use a dip net so long as it’s smaller than the maximum diameter allowed however doesn’t specify what it can and can’t be used for. I know from past experience if it’s not written as a legislative enforcement you shouldn’t have been through that ordeal mate… maybe you got that officer on a bad day 😂😂
