Looks like fun. I introduced my wife to fishing this past weekend and she loves it. Something to be said for beginners luck. She actually landed a 20 inch channel cat on my ultralight with 4 lb test. Went and bought her a new rod and reel setup yesterday. Maybe we can make it out in your area soon. I'd love to see her lock horns with a nice Spanish or red drum. Thanks for a great video.
My granddad was a native of Rodanthe, N.C. He was in the coast guard in the 30s. I remember going with him surf fishing when I was six or seven. He and his Buddies would put on chest waders and go out in the surf with a huge long rod and cast as far out as possible. One day we were driving down the beach and heard on the radio that someone was fighting a huge fish. We found the guy and a couple hundred people following him as he fought the fish. He fought it for 2 hours and walked 2 miles fighting it. We all couldn't wait to see it. He finally got it into the shallows and it was a giant Redfish. Just as another guy went to gaf it it broke off. My granddad thought it was probably a record fish. This was around 1972. Your video brought back that memory.
The start of this video is like a dream, everything is perfect. Your ocean has no waves, there are bait fish directly in front of your spot on the beach, there is no one else visible on the beach.
I enjoy your beach fishing videos. I copy what you do when I go beach fishing on Tybee Island and it’s got me rays, bluefish, flounder and horseshoe crabs. Thanks for most of that. Horseshoe crabs are creepy.
Your fishing multiple rods at the beach reminds me of those guys at the circus who balanced spinning plates on six bamboo canes and then spent the rest of their time dashing from cane to cane to keep them all spinning and not hitting the deck!!!
Love the videos, and I appreciate the content you put out! I've been surf fishing with live mullet and hooking them through the lips. and I've ended up with fish eating everything but the head and missing a lot of fish. I noticed you were hooking your mullet through the back. Is that the reason why you hook them that way? Thanks!
E I’ve had great luck on a 3 way swivel with a standard 3-4 ot j hook in the surf. Spanish have been running strong down here. As always keep up the great work!
Very enjoyable..ty! My specialty is surf fishing, might want to get yourself some better sand spikes. When the surf is flat like that, no biggie, but when the surf's up you need more height, perhaps with the surf rods also..again, thank you!
Great surf trip. Time to dust of my gear, hey two more weeks like to see another flounder vid , big fish are around , got a 11 lber the other day Shallow too my area
Was down on the south end this weekend. Man that place has gotten flat. Caught my limit of trout two days and my fair share of the yellow eyed fool. Otherwise it was a slow weekend. Couldn't get them to bite much other than cut croaker. Good job on the Spanish its one I haven't managed from the beach yet.
Well done ... there's nothing quite like the beach. There didn't appear to be any "surf structure" in that water, but it didn't seem to make any difference.
Do Blue fish taste bad &/or have a ton of bones? I loved surf fishing the West Coast, & in TN now. Hope to make it to The NC coast & do some fishing some time soon!
Can I just pay you to take me out on Carolina beach or wrightsville beach and have you show me how to fish from the surf? I just end up getting croaker every time.
When you use that fish finder rig with the sliding hook, do you you use a leader for the area that the hook slides on as well as the leader the rig is made from? Looked like you had it each way. I am heading to OBX to surf fish next week and am thinking of doing the sliding hook setup but think I may need a leader off the braid.
Looks like there was braid mainline that the slide threaded on to, with a barrel swivel tied on with the 40 lb leader tied to the other end of the swivel
I'm thinking of getting my husband a Penn Battle 3 reel for his birthday. Would a 3000 be a good size to try pier fishing or should I go with something larger? We do mostly freshwater fishing so any advice from fellow fishermen would be appreciated.
imo that Penn # 3 reel would be good for pier and/or light duty surf fishing, and is suitable for saltwater too. You can get a rod and reel combo for around $170 at Dicks or Academy Sports.
I’d say a 4000 would be better for the pier, and for all around use. More line capacity for further casts needed from the pier at times, and more drag power and line capacity if you hook into something big, since you’re stationary unlike on a kayak where you can follow the fish and you don’t have as much line out as opposed to casting from a Pier.
And if you’re just bait fishing and not doing a lot of cast and retrieve then even a 5000 or 6000 is even better because a bigger spool allows for further casts, granted that it’s matched appropriately to the rod you’re fishing with
Why not eat the blue? You catch and release 1st blue, then catch the macro and said you got dinner. Blues are amazing to eat, much more nutricional than macros actually.. Anyway nice fishing😉
I'm from jersey I have a question. Getting into surf fishing. What a good rod and reel for fishing strippers. Here they are like 40+ lbs. I want to upgrade and want to know what to look at. I use my wayfers.and stand on the jetties
Do you intend to fish to seek blessings of goodness or to torture fish just for the sake of content? I am so stoked for Fall, the mullet run brings the best surf fishing of the year in North Carolina. Can’t
wait for the next surf video.
Thank You so much for all that you do to bring these neat adventures to us . And all without any stupid music !
yeah I do not like the music in a lot of fishing channels.

Ah, such a great reminder .... early morning surf fishing Outer Cape Cod Beaches. Some of the most wonderful fishing in my life! Thanks.
Could watch Elias surf fishing videos all day every day. Thanks brotherrrrrr

I do love your surf fishing vids. Always fun to see what bites!
Glad to see you back. Was getting worried it had been so long! LOL got to love Carolina coast in the fall! Great video as always.
Peaceful ocean surf fishing. Love it, thumbs up
Love the different style vids man, good to see you working the surf!

Was this from you Elias?
The action shot of you running towards the rod was actually adorable haha

Nice mixed bag! Live the surf fishing videos.
I caught the subtle Star Wars reference lol....nice day of fishing, thanks.
Good fishing….nice to see you beach fishing.
Love those Speckled trout. My favorite eating fish.
Fishing and a Kenobi quote…….best video ever

Nice work a real nice day for fishing.

Beautiful day, for surf fishing.
Enjoy your surf fishing videos 👍🏻🎣
6:42. Best vid moment😎
Need to get up to Oswego NY for the Salmon run. Nice video as always.
Don’t you wish that the Bluefish that you land would understand that they’re not in water - and quit trying to swim😜😆😂🤣
I'm 5 hours away from the coast inland Australia ... and God damn I miss beach fishing but thanks for living the dream mate.
Nice bro.. surf fishing.. i like it.. beautiful spot.. beautiful beach..
I am from indonesia
Good fishing! 👍🐟
Nice video, I see you're rocking a Jigging World Shadow Surf rod! My favorite surf rod!
No wind at all? I'd be chucking metal lures and epoxy jigs on that beach. I can't remember such a calm, flat day up here in the northeast.
Great surf trip. Time to dust of my gear, hey two more weeks like to see another flounder vid , big fish are around , got a 11 lber the other day Shallow too my area
Great video glad you posted keep them coming thanks
Nice. Thanks for sharing.
Good action looks like!!
Yeah.... I feel the same...Not much for crowds... Nice fish
Great fun, Thanks.
Nice fishing video.. amazing fishing technic and sensation strike. thanks for sharing good job. 👍🙏
technique
Throw some gold kastmaster spoons using a 7 ft rod. More fun when the ocean is full of blues.
I was surf fishing around topsail this past weekend and caught alot of upper slot reds with some blues mixed in
Hey Jon, were you using finger mullet too? I was at Atlantic Beach yesterday and it was all the blues and small Spanish you could catch, but no reds.
@@thatwaseasy9190 yep fresh finger mullet. Caught around 20 reds in 2 days. From around 11am to 3-4 pm
Blue fish are actually pretty good eating
I love my onyx 9ft and my shadow 11ft 🤘
Bluefish is a very good fish!
My parents were just talking to me about scoping out an NC beach for vacation and I was thinking "gotta get a couple surf rigs"
what a great day. keep it going.
elias...am i the only one making millions off the scammers?
Enjoyed the video. It is a different view seeing you run toward a rod spiked in the sand!
Do you any instructional videos on how you read tide charts and what conditions you look for that predict a good fishing day?
Well done ... there's nothing quite like the beach. There didn't appear to be any "surf structure" in that water, but it didn't seem to make any difference.
Pretty flat.
Is this down on Kure ?
Do Blue fish taste bad &/or have a ton of bones? I loved surf fishing the West Coast, & in TN now. Hope to make it to The NC coast & do some fishing some time soon!
I don't mind bluefish but they need to be very fresh.
i wish i could give this more than a like
Do you have a video of how to throw a cast net from a kayak? You mentioned it in this video.
Chase em down to Florida for me, I'm heading to Palm Beach for Thanksgiving!
Wondering if you got the invite to the slam shady event down in Florida the other day? You would smoked em! 🎣👍
I did but I couldn't commit to that drive.
13:13 amazing 👍 salam kenal dari Indonesia 🙏🇮🇩👉🔔
Come on Elias, we were just down there on vacation and everybody raves about eating bluefish.
I mean they are ok. I just think I've got some better choices here.
Can I just pay you to take me out on Carolina beach or wrightsville beach and have you show me how to fish from the surf? I just end up getting croaker every time.
Fish deeper holes with live bait
Find a video on how to read a beach. There are a bunch out there. Hope it helps.
man i stay in wilmington we could fish fr. Caught a flounder yesterday off a mullet in southport
There's a few surf guides that might be able to help you out - Faith Surf Fishing should be able to help you understand whens and hows.
@@EliasVFishing thank you! I’ll check it out!

Sometimes I'll tie a leader. Those sliders are pretty forgiving direct to braid though.
@@EliasVFishing Thanks. Going to try that rig vs the hi/low next week while at OBX.
Lil Choppers......are fun.
Nice live bait well...where from
I Think sand fleas would have made a big difference as far as variety of fish and save you a few hooks as well.
I messed out on the Spanish this year. Can't complain about the inshore action though.
Hey Elias, what kind of bait bucket is that?
Looks like the Magellan 19 qt.

I would like some pier fishing videos because that’s mostly what I do people here catch mostly big black drums reds are rarely catch
What beach is this?
See sometimes it doesn't pay to be first lol.thanks for the vid
Are those sand spikes homemade or a commercial product?
What state are you in?
Why are you throwing the bluefish back?
It’s a spotty mackerel
How hard can u cast a live mullet that way
Bravo
Are them Blue fish edible you say cocktail is that like the only good size they are if you can eat them
Why not empty the net directly over the bait bucket instead of stressing the mullet by dropping them on the sand and picking them up?
Every time I do that they all jump out!
Please can you tell me where is that spot
amezing brother ♥️👍🕳️
SÜPERRRR 🇹🇷 👍
Where are you located?
Joe , New Bern
Where is this thank you
Has the bike been officially retired?
It's illegal in most areas until October!
Can u show me yr fishing rig set up pls

Mackerel the closest thing to taste like liver 🤮or venison..🤮🤮
Idk what kind of mackerel, liver or venison you’re eating but it ain’t right lol..... they should all taste very distinctly different....
