    Typically, the silicone torsos are used in cosplay by women cosplaying men or by drag kings in conjunction with a binder to create a male figure. I wasn't aware it was used for looksmaxxing too though...

    The scary thing is, that all these people using filters to "enhance" their appearance, are already stunning! They'd easily make anyone take a second glance, but seeing how insecure they are (not their fault - we as a society have failed to make people appreciate natural beauty) that have to resort to filters (not to mention how they are now considered "common" or even "essential" for photography) is just sad :(
    Worse is, that the people in their comment sections encourage this behaviour leading the creator to think that their real self isn't "ideal" or "desirable" enough, and that they need to keep up the facade of being "perfect", no matter if it comes at the cost of their physical or mental health (more often both)

I was scared that it might affect much when I get older so I tried strength training and eating healthier (as a 5'5", my body felt heavy when I went 75kgs and I couldn't run properly).

    Dude the guy who said girls since the beginning of time is so right. Guys are only just now discovering how it feels to have a constant judgemental gaze on you, while we have been in competition with each other for the male gaze since time immemorial. Uh, yeah. Men were oblivious because we were judged and what we did moreso than how we looked. But now the dating market reflects that looking like a walking skid mark will sully your chances of a relationship regardless of having the cure to cancer.
      So looksmaxx or cope with getting zero bitches were the options men are left with, without the advantage of starting from young like most women.

    • @jsonjsoff
      @jsonjsoff 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Have you considered why that is?
      Until only recently, men have provided far more than just looks. It's only through scientific and technological progress as well as government socialistic policies that a man is now reduced to his looks.
      With government subsidies and safety nets and tech like birth control pills, men would still be valued for their utility.
      When govt becomes a sugar daddy, a virtual husband, an entity that will keep you afloat even if you have 3 kids with 3 different guys, you end up here.
      If for whatever reason humanity gets sent back to the dark ages, men will once again be sought after for their utility.

    I think some of the people forget that different people consider different things attractive. For example, one of my favourite types of noses are wide with big nose drills or the crooked ones. And on the contrary I find the upturned noses not very attractive (there are exceptions of course). Also, as an artist I think that "non-ideal" facial features are making a person look more interesting. And why we are so concentrated on looks anyway? I will consider you beautiful if I like you, I'm used to you and you interest me. Because everyone can be beautiful without changing their looks, everyone has something both in their physical appearance and in their personality to attract someone.

I ended up short and my brother had teachers concerned in his teens because puberty was later than the dutch guys but no, that was just his asian side, when he did start puberty he got dutch tall, taking that part of the family genetics. But those genetics were alreday in the family, just skipped a few people. Females in particular.

    This honestly makes me so sad / frustrated. Personally I'm on a journey of realizing I actually AM insecure about just being myself; so much of it is from this hyper awareness of how we perceive people the first time thanks to the internet. It really doesn't matter that much, how much do I really care about first impressions? and just visual ones? As a trans man, it's hard to find people with a similar style or look to me and it makes me think 'hmm maybe I don't belong' instead of 'oh I'm just being myself'. Guys you DO BELONG. Your appearance is not YOU. Take a deep breath, maybe find art to make look how you want instead of your own appearance; it's not as important as tik tok wants us to think. Your body is simply a vessel through which you live life. Be yourself 2024!!

    As I slowly become older (I turn 31 this week) I'm really glad that a) I became much more comfortable in my own body and b) care less and less how other people look. I had an eating disorder when I was younger and I'm happy to say that I don't feel that pressure as much anymore. Now if only big corporations that want to profit off of the insecurities of people - which the corporations themselves inflicted in the first place - would stop doing that shit, I would be very happy

    What that men don't understand is that personality is what wins at the end. Most women love men who can make them laugh, who can make them feel loved and safe, smart and gentle men. No amount of "meowing" or being tall or bulked up will matter in the end. And no, for all the incels who happen to be here by accident, money only matters to certain minority of women, most of us don't care.

      We care about money and we care abiut them taking care of themselves obviously personality matters but looks matters eventhough looks maxing is extreme

      What's sad is that these type of men tend to chase those women who want these attributes they're trying to achieve...while also calling those same women that they want the most vile, disgusting things you can imagine. Seen it happen too often.
