@@xdranzer0004 Thank women and societal shifts for that, if it weren't for most men being forced to use dating apps to find a girlfriend, looks wouldn't matter as much.
@@Snormitehonestly, women seriously do not look for the things these dudes are focused on - they’re doing this for other men to approve of them. it could be called a societal thing (the andrew tate phenomenon comes to mind) but women are not campaigning for this by any means 😭
That won't help. People don't just behave this way because social media is influencing them, they are not just insecure because of some TikTok trend. There are real life consequences here, that cause severe mental distress. You can't escape a unsatisfactory situation by not acknowledging it.
Tbf "mewing" was coined by orthodonist Mike Mew, based on his last name lol. Also fun fact, "mog" comes from "AMOG" (Alpa Male Of the Group) which came from the oldschool bodybuilding forums. 👍
Some 30 years ago my doctor warned me to not overeat carrots unless I want my skin to turn orange. It's 2023 now and people are just trumpmaxxing themselves, I can't...
How can you be this brain-dead about these things lmao. None of this stuff is new, the movie zoolanders whole thing was making fun of the beatification trends of the time, his famous expression of sucking in his cheeks, doing a duckface and squinting was to mock the fact that it's what celebrities would do when they're trying to look cool
Absolutely. I remember reading a Justin Bieber interview, wherein he states that flashing camera lights take some time to get used to. I do not think people realize, how many photographers are lined up at those events. Tens of lenses flashing at once, of course people will squint.
Nurse here - Bone smashing will NOT change your jawline or cheekbones, but it WILL cause deformity...you know, the opposite of improvement?...if you actually fracture or break bones (which I highly doubt people are actually doing) you'll likely end up with either unsightly lumps and dents, or facial scarring dye to surgery to either fix those things or rest your bone
To back you up, I had upper jaw surgery at age 18 - face still poofs and hurts with the rain pressure, and I'm almost 36. People, please don't break your face unless you have to, I promise, y'all look just fine :)
I had upper jaw surgery at 20 and wouldn’t do it again. I don’t understand how these folks are willing doing this to themselves without consulting a plastic surgeon or a maxillofacial specialist. Plates and screws are involved to guide the jaw to its new position smh There’s going to be some Shreks running around 😂
Bone smashing is mainy a joke like jelqmaxxing, ropemaxxing all used as jokes in most situations but some can be serious in certain situation like jelqing as it is an actual thing that i cant say on this app, most people arent usually bone smashing
“Looksmaxxing” = “I’m too insecure to just say ‘makeover’, ‘fashion’ & ‘beauty routine’ “ That’s what extraneous grooming, hair styling, skincare, facial alteration literally are.
It's actually not that deep. That's an assumption you made up. The internet is always creating buzzwords, which is all it is, a word. Before looksmaxxing people would just say glow up.
And yet if they called them these things then you'd just insult them and say they're insecure for doing them, as you're literally doing right now. It's hilarious how 99% of this comment section is proving looksmaxers right about what they do which is exactly why they're doing it
There was a Twilight Zone episode where everyone had surgery at age 21 to look exactly like a set face that everyone else had. There were only a few faces to choose from, and you had no choice. One girl decided she didn't want the surgery but they chased her down and did it anyway. Faces are supposed to be different, it's the result of nature mixing up the genetics to get the best survival rate. People who get online and tell other people they're ugly are a certain kind of sick and nobody should pay any attention to them. They will find another way to try to make life miserable for everyone else.
I never hated my ethnic nose until I got Tiktok. I began to hate it so much that I got a nose job less than a year later. I always said I did it "for me" and "to make myself happy" but the thing is, its never for YOU. Someone taught me to hate my nose. Someone convinced me deep down, I was less beautiful because of my nose shape. I wasnt born hating the way I look and ultimately I caved because I did not feel beautiful. Now, I try really hard to love myself, and to appreciate my small lips, big teeth, wrinkles, and uneven skin. Yes Ive gotten botox and filler and extensions etc but every day I am on the internet I fight the urge to hate myself for not looking "perfect." Also, sometimes I swear most of the girls I see on Tiktok are fake, they are too "perfect" its unsettling.
i really dont mean to rub your nose in it. but can you give us an explanation on why this happened to begin with ? when i use tiktok i follow artists, dogs , cats, animal sanctuaries, chefs and all that. or drag queens. with how much content there is about self love , art, and self expression, can you tell us how you got nothing but the negatives ? do you not follow anything outside of generic gender norm hobbies ? your profile picture is a bit....like this is youtube why do you use a models profile picture ? im starting to wonder if it was tiktok , or were you just....kinda lacking any sense of self already ? i feel like a boyfriend , even your own dad, could have easily gotten you to do this. because when i see this content , i just laugh. "look at these insecure morons who actually think god (whoever your s is) cares about looks. i love me , and i love how unique i look" and my autism makes it even harder to put myself in someones shoes. you actually went all the way through with bitchering your own body , your own temple. because........someone told you to ? i wonder if we are just different on a spiritual level ? i could never fathom ruining the face nature created for me in my mothers womb, even with my different eyelids and crooked smile. what could have possibly driven you to actually hate yourself this much , if not what was already in you ?
I hated my nose for the longest time. I thought it was way too big and masculine, and I wanted a smaller more petite nose. It wasn't until my dad offhandedly said I had his father's nose. I don't really remember my grandfather, he passed away when I was really young, but ever since then, I've loved my nose so much. It was definitely a journey though 😅
I believe that to an extent, we do have inherent beauty standards. Meaning that we could be raised with propaganda telling us one specific body type/facial structure is attractive, but we won't fully believe it. We may be pressured into favoring it in the way that we want to emulate it to fit in, but for the most part, we won't be attracted to something that is objectively unattractive... Like how it's become mainstream to be told over and over that being fat is beautiful. Plenty of people have now been brought up with that sentiment, but most can still recognize that a healthy body is objectively more attractive. Fads come and go, different weird clothing styles and cosmetic procedures, but overall, we have an inherent sense of what is naturally good or bad looking. I think it has most to do with instinctively recognizing traits that go hand in hand with optimal genetics, which will result in healthier children. Just like how animals look for certain qualities in a mate, which they instinctively believe will ensure the health, and likelihood of their young's survival.
And you are comparing yourself to the girls, who put ten levels of filter before the posting and you think that it is fair? These faces are not even real, it's the same as to compare ourselves to 2D girls and be frustrated that it's impossible to reach this level of physical appearance in real life.
I'm on the older side of gen z going on 26, but the whole looksmaxxing thing has been around since I was in high-school from folks who were in their 20s at the time. This isn't a new thing but I was surprised to see these terms pop back up in the last year. Seems like it's just reaching the mainstream more than specifically being a Gen z thing.
It's a clinically online thing not a generational thing, I volunteer and work with younger kids most normal well adjusted teens don't care about this stuff. They may want to look good but it's not to the extreme of damaging their bodies. It's natural for teens to want to start looking "good" but this is something else.

I think that recently beauty standards and marketing towards women have been shifting from a "one size fits all" approach to being about finding what suits you as an individual (person color analysis, kibbe, etc.), meaning that it's getting harder to monopolize on one singular trend or look. Now, beauty companies are tapping into a new naive market found in men, using the same tired tactics that women are starting to grow resentful of
You are so right. 20 years ago, women were obsessed with EVERYTHING about their looks, fashion and trends, while men couldn't care less. And when metrosexuals appeared, we basically bullied them for being gay and that was that. Nowadays it's reversed. Insanity...
yeah, sure, the big bad evil companies are at fault, as usual. seriously, what did you use to listen to this video? certainly not ears. the incels are the ones who found a correlation between their lack of success and looks (as incorrect as it might be), the businesses are just using the opportunity to sell them bs products. there’s still no makeup line to become a gigachad, men’s fashion is just as basic and bleak as it always was, and there are still no men lined up before beauty salons. it was originally just a small community of bitter losers online, but it blew up and became a trend for some reason, and now folks like can feel like experts thinking you came up with a perfect explanation
Its ok to be average looking, the vast majority of us are average looking. Rating peoples value on a 1 - 10 scale is incredibly dehumanising and just completely inaccurate. I would ask that you have some sympathy for the people there who are genuinely in a bad place and see enough sense to do something. As for the kids on tiktok, they might need some time off the internet
Because were men to be open about doing these things, women like yourself would insult them and call them fragile and insecure about their looks, as you are doing right now
Yesss!! I love using these types of videos to better understand tiktok's influence on society and also to just see what's going on over there. It's very fascinating seeing everyone repeat the same problems FB and IG created for everyone, but on steroids. I'd much rather "keep up" with all this passively and with a critical lens. I love creators that can make these types of dystopian topics easy to understand while also highlighting how ridiculous this all is.
"Everyone looks better with a tan" is definitely not true. I am very pale and I have red hair. I have never had a tan and would look bizarre with a tan
man, last summer i was pretty much out every day in the sun, had to put up with two months of people going "oh my god, what the hell happened to you?! you look super tanned!"
I used to believe that. My own mother shamed me for being pale so I sunbathed (damaging my skin) to achieve the glow. Now I'm in my 30s and embraced the paleness and follow Koreans in their use of SPF mostly in the effort to maintain my youthful look. I've found I prefer my fair complexion. Especially when it's well taken care of, nourished and glowing.
I mean, there are so many people that if they would try to tan, they would turn into a lobster; tanning doesn’t necessarily happen for some people as well
Also flawless pale skin has the same impact as tan skin in a lot of lighting. I can't tell you how many times I've seen photos of someone who is pale, but they look tan because of warm lighting in the room. Just don't hang out under fluorescent lights
People nowadays seem to want angular faces with sunken cheeks. The reality is, most faces become more this way with AGE. People that go so far as having a buccal fat removal to achieve this look are literally creating an older look. 😂

True, your face changes so much in your life anyway. I'm 24 now and I lost my baby fat on my face lately + I got all of my wisdom teeth out and that surgery can affect how your face is looking as well. I used to have a chubby face but due to growing into an adult and that teeth surgery, I lost most of my face fat.
I get wanting to fix things like acne, getting into shape (things I personally want to work on) but at a certain point, it’s obsessive and almost dangerous to constantly change your appearance like this for the sake of others. It is awful that even more people (mostly children) are being brainwashed and bullied into constantly obsessing over beauty standards, but it is interesting that the male population may finally understand what it is like to be female person when it comes to widespread critique, cultural surveillance, and lifelong personal insecurities. Maybe the silver lining will be a more unified effort to fight back against beauty standards instead of just spouting off that women are shallow and only care about their looks.
This is strangely ignorant; there have always been men subjected to critique of their bodies and appearances. Height and muscular stature come to mind- less face bc men don’t have the amenity of normalized makeup wearing. There’s even less support for them because of this weird sexist trope that men are unfeeling and have no idea what it’s like to be obsessed with appearance and don’t get bullied for being unattractive. They do, there is just no one speaking out about it. That’s where these incel communities came in, for insecure socially rejected guys. Instead of turning this into a gender debate, why not just condemn the very universal social pressure of needing to be attractive? Smh.
@@elliotoliver8679 All kids can deal with bullying and anyone popular online will get negative comments about their appearance, but the widespread comments on male kids/teens/young adults criticizing their appearance is new. To act like beauty standards and social policing of appearance has been equal before the age of tiktok is completely misunderstanding misogyny and how media has primarily attacked women in the past.
This isn't new, men ALWAYS had insecurities in regards to their looks, we just didn't express it because that made us ashamed and look insecure in front of others... So what most guys did was just assume that they are "ugly" and roll along with it, but we could still find a partner in the past just like fat and "unattractive" women were able to do, and can still do today. The problem is that men now literally CAN'T find love if they don't look attractive enough thanks to social media and dating apps, which push superficial standards for everyone, so even if we accept how we look, we can't accept the fact that we will die as virgins because of it... This is where this whole culture of trying to improve our looks began. The fact that you genuinely believe that we never experienced insecurities and struggles because of our looks, goes to show just how little you've talked to men and earned their trust for them to admit what they don't like about their bodies. Beauty standards are not the problem in themselves, it's the fact that so many young women are unable to see beyond them in our current times: while most young men don't mind dating women with weak jawlines, short or tall stature, big noses or prominent teeth, or even an overweight body, women won't give you the time of the day if you are not taller than her or have a chiseled face... So the real question here is, if so many men don't care about these "flaws" in women and still ask them out on dates, why can't women do the same?
I hate when the people in these sorts of videos say, “This is why you NEED to do X” in relation to appearance-based trends. Like why? Am I going to die, or are other people going to die, if I don’t look desirable all the time?
I'm speaking as a mature older person i have tried similar trends in the 2000-2010s era and it caused me and many others depression and ptsd like how we were starving ourselves ,dressing in uncomfortable clothes that hurt our skin to look fashionable and cute, damaging our hair with hair straightners, all what we were doing was damaging our health and for what ! People are nitpicking their own features too much. People usually aren’t looking that closely, they are taking in your whole face as a set. (Artists have this same problem, which is why you’re supposed to take breaks and look at the big picture.)

@@sagetusk See, the difference between man's and woman's vanity here, is that was always like this for the women. For centuries the value of the woman was measuring with how good she was look like(and it still continues). It was a matter of life and death: her status, her position in society was determined by the quality of marriage she got, and to sell themselves for the bigger price, women were always investing in their looks, because it was the only career ladder they could afford. So, woman's vanity has a clear historical grounding because for many centuries women had no other choice. But when the man, who does have a choice, is deciding to masturbate on himself, reveling by his physical appearance, it makes me want to vomit. The only one really saying women like Chads is these guys. Like even the definition of Chad is so arbitrary that it’s sometimes just “guys hotter than me specifically”. They’re just making themselves look hot for other guys but they’re way too insecure to admit that
Ironically, most women actually prefer to be the most attractive in the relationship, and most men prefer to be with a woman hotter than themselves. As long as they take decent care of themselves, most men can look fairly decent, even with 'bad' genetics. What they don't realise is, even if they managed to get to 10/10, it would not be enough to get with the 10/10 women they are looking to get with. These women are often a specific type; high social status (meaning popular, with lots of popular friends), and they like to show that in the people they surround themselves with. So if you get to a 10/10, but still have the confidence of a 4/10, and don't surround yourself with other beautiful and high status people, you will not get that type of women. They like to do specific things, and are fairly extroverted. The men trying out looksmaxxing are often more introverted, and likes different things. In short, they are not personally or socially compatible with the women they chase. And they look down on the women they are actually compatible with, because they are maybe 'only' 7/10's. They are literally trying to be someone they are not, to make up for their low self esteem. I am all for improving your looks (in a healthy way), but you still need to be a better version of *yourself* inside and out; not masking as someone else. That will not make you happy in life.
Guys are notoriously bad at knowing what women find attractive. Same goes the other way too, like women or men saying "that guy/woman is uggo" and people attracted to that gender being like "wtf?"
None of the guys I ever dated was a Chad so I dont understand this. All of my friends boyfriends are not Chads. Women honestly dont care about looks as much as men do.

Your facial features must harmonize with eachother to increase attractiveness. Not everyone looks good with a pointy nose or squinted eyes. YOUR eyes are supposed to suit YOUR nose, YOUR nose is supposed to compliment YOUR lips. I dont get why people are trying to look like others when you werent meant to look like them but yourself. Don’t go follow trends, if you want to look more attractive make sure you change based on your looks not others.

ok but as someone who's spent over a decade as a kpop stan, it's so funny to me how these internet bros are obsessed with this shit and it's like bestie do y'all really believe that almost every single idol you have ever seen hasn't had at least one plastic surgery??? like they don't look like that from birth or "glow up" from puberty/aging alone, it's usually plastic surgery, very commonly done are eye surgeries (usually to "correct" monolids) and nose jobs, but it's not uncommon for idols to have their bones literally SHAVED (or get implants to adjust their overall face shape, though I expect the shaving is more common because of korea's obsession with that V jawline). tldr; the older you get, the less it actually matters what other people think of you. obviously there is going to be certain societal or cultural pressures to look a certain way or fit a beauty standard, but I found that as I got older, I've come to accept that regardless of what my body size or shape is or what my face looks like compared to others, I am confident in WHO I am and once you find that place, you'll find that you tend to be a less concerned about what other people think about you. ❤
Just a comment about the "older you are, the less people care about how you look": a very well-known Canadian news anchor was let go from her job because she stopped dyeing her hair. All the male anchors are allowed to go grey but their female colleague gets fired for showing their age. So I would say it's not that people don't care about what you look like when you get older but people obsess over aging in general and they don't like seeing people grow older. At least certain people.
gotta make some unfortunate changes to what you said because I agree with the top reply, women still care about not looking older, remember the tons of commentary youtubers complaining about the middle aged women doing stuff like not smiling so they "age slower" (amongst other methods)? Plus botox on older women is still a thing, unfortunately. Also my family still dyes their hair monthly to hide white hairs, as with most older folk where I live. Not to mention, the amount of incel guys who say that women are "undateable" when they have kids (usually older women) are still disturbingly high, and lot's of poor clueless women still fall for it. Yeah people care less about body types and micromanaging features, but the beauty standard is still there, especially for women. Also, as far as I know, most internet bros aren't necessarily into kpop (unless they're asian and need to adhere to asian beauty standards, I guess) and want that steve from minecraft lookin @ss jawline, that's the kind of annoying standard they have.
Another thing you start to notice is that a lot of these guys (because its usually men, let's be real) will compare a professionally done headshot of a model or an actor with a shitty picture someone took in their dingy bathroom at 3 am and conclude that the reason that person is "ugly" is because their face is bad. Bonus points if that dude's hair isn't even brushed, his face hasn't been washed in years, he's wearing a stained t-shirt, and the photo was taken at an upward angle. Lights, makeup, and framing can do a lot for a person and that doesn't even get into the realm of filters, photoshop, and, as OP points out, plastic surgery. Proper grooming and styling can also do wonders for you: two things that I think men as a group could stand to spend more time on, personally. This ain't it though. Perhaps it is only natural for boys to be going through this. I know the girlies went through it all in the 90s and 00s (still are, tbf), but these conversations are _normal,_ even boring, as far as women are concerned even if women are still hurting. And, of course, these same men won't see the parallels to what girls and women have been discussing since the 90s in regards to unrealistic beauty standards, self harm, and body dysmorphia probably because learning from women might suggest that men aren't inherently smarter or more logical or something. Once more, misogyny hurts men as well.
@@SilverDragonJayI swear women act like men didn't went through this shit before. And also what should we learn from women to make a billion dollar industry based on our insecurities. There is a difference between a set standard of beauty and attraction. I may be attracted by the way someone looks, but you may not. It doesn’t mean he’s unattractive, it just means he’s not attractive to you. Fussy men will never be attractive no matter how good looking.
So many people have such a black and white view of dating. Having standard rating and definitions of what makes someone desirable vs undesirable makes it feel more within their control. But as you said, attraction is so highly dependable on the individual.
Except that is not what people experience at all. What people experience is that a huge chunk of people die without ever having felt love or being desired. How do you explain that? Clearly people, predominantly men, are being selected out.
I believe it goes beyond incels. Teenagers are going online when dealing with normal uncertainty about their looks or in worse cases insecurities from bullying and rather than getting decent advice from decent people, they're getting advice from these trash communities. I think it's similar to dating advice, where youngsters who don't have bad views search for advice, but the only specific dating advice online tends to be from certain types of people who have toxic views.
Well they're just being brutally honest and its better than giving a false hope, false compliment, like we can't just simply say ure beautiful when youre not, take that as knowledge not insult
This whole looksmaxxing trend would probably make me really depressed if it existed back when i was in my teens. But now as an adult I’m already comfortable with my looks i just use the good advice they give like maybe hair loss prevention working out, hair care and stuff. I think teens should stay away as much from the internet as possible imo.
The problem is that a lot of what they find online is going to be popular tiktokers, and most popular teenage boys on tiktok are simultaneously naturally conventionally attractive, roided up, and filtered to within an inch of their lives. And then presented as being "normal", like all fifteen year olds can and should look like that. The algorithm feeds it to them far worse than magazines fed unrealistic body standards to girls in the early 2000s, and that was harmful enough. I would not want to be a teenager these days.
my personal conclusion from this video is that tiktok reversed our social development; people just be getting more shallow and judgemental. I hate this bullcrap lmao. Why can't we just leave people be and not judge them for the way they look? Like, don't put your own beauty ideals on someone else and don't judge people if they don't fit into this beauty ideal you got; you can have a preference but don't make someone feel like crap if they don't fit into your preferences. Like everyone has different preferences when it comes to looks. I'm so mad haha. I am glad I don't use tiktok, cos I hate it sometimes. Couldn't even finish watching the video, it kills me how horrible people can be 😶
I think that if humanity is genetically shaped to reach near perfection through prenatal genetic testing and technology like CRISPR, everyone can become genetic equals and no one will have to be dumb or ugly and unwanted again. I support voluntary genetic enhancement - not eugenics.
As a GenXer I honestly chuckled. So many of these things were part of the 90s beauty stuff but are named differently. Honestly tho, mogging is just making sure you are the prettiest amongst your group... Hence why you almost always see the plain Jane as a bestie to the popular pretty girl in most 90's teen movies. Or the great movies where they take the plain Jane and make her hot movies.
the comparison pictures are so odd because half of the people they put in the "ugly" category are considered 10/10 by tens of thousands of people, and half of the images in the "looksmaxxed" category hit the uncanny valley

Advice from a woman: Being attractive grabs attention, but personality is needed to keep it. So many of the things women find attractive isn't look based alone. being confident, funny, respectful, caring and so on means so much more than what fucking shape your face is.
If you're average, youre already good enough for most women so confidence will grab the attention. Women will pretty much always date below their own looks. Looksmaxxing is inherently homoerotic behaviour.
It’s honestly kind of depressing these days how many men put more value in pulling bitches than keeping them. It is SO much more important to be a genuine, down-to-earth person than it is to be an attractive person.

I'm not a great people person but getting into a relationship is not hard, as long as you don't fly into fantasyland with your imagination before getting to know the person, be nice and don't play stupid games to test the other person. just be a mature adult and ask questions, don't pretend to be greater than you are when you answer and you will be shocked by how many people just want a calm partner that they can talk to. i'm in the process of losing a fuckton of weight and i mentioned to one guy that i just wish my double chin was gone (btw it's gone -5kg later) and he deadass said to me to chew more gum 💀i tried to explain that it's not how fat reduction works, but quickly realized i'm talking to a wall. not only chewing a lot of gum can fuck up your jaw like said in the video (can't be bothered to spell it), but your jaw muscles will get TOO strong and as a result you will be clenching your jaw (which will give you headaches), will grind teeth in your sleep (which literally will file down your teeth against each other and give other damage). like b r u h. i thought it was common knowledge that chewing gum ain't gonna get rid of fat and ain't gonna add bone to your jaw - but i guess i was wrong ffs. the hope in humanity is long lost
ok, hear me out though. i was fat, i had a double chin. a big thing about double chin is actually resting tongue placement. naturally your tongue should sit against your palate, but many people unlearn that natural placement during their life if your tongue rests between your lower teeth, you WILL have more of a double chin. it's called mewing. granted if you're 100kg overweight, you got other issues, but if you're closer to a normal weight, it's something worth looking into.
The gum chewing is so goofy to me cause reducing weight will reduce fat throughout your entire body not just a specific area and I don't think chewing gonna help with a balanced diet or staying active in the slightest. There was a guy in the video who looked like they were all skin and bones and then after gaining a healthy weight they were back to the desired golden ratio and attributing it to chewing gum is kinda insane to me.

As a guy who's spent over 40k USD on plastic surgeries, I also find this maxxing trend ridiculous... the surgeons and people on social media will always tell you there's something else to fix. And what if a physical feature "goes out of style" some day? I mean Kim K's butt can go a few sizes up/down depending on what's trending that week. When it comes to dating tho, I gotta admit that my surgical glowup helped a lot. Only after I got my new face and successfully lost weight and built some muscle did I start getting given a chance by others to try, men or women, and only after I started trying was I able to identify the "personality problems" that prevented me from establishing intimacy with others. But to my surprise and dismay, there weren't actually many personality flaws lol. Most of my ex's still remain good friends with me even after breakup. So to wrap it up, it might sound cliche but MODERATION is the key. Go "optimize" yourself if you have a realistic goal and the means to do it. But be fucking clear where the limits are, keep a balance between what society finds beautiful and your own aesthetics (i.e. I refused to enlarge my eyes and pump up my face tho they are the norm even for guys where I'm from)
as someone who grew up poor, its genuinely baffling hearing people manage to spend that much on unnecessary medical procedures holy shit. we didnt even make half of that in an entire year...

i really dont mean to rub your nose in it. but can you give us an explanation on why this happened to begin with ? when i use tiktok i follow artists, dogs , cats, animal sanctuaries, chefs and all that. or drag queens. with how much content there is about self love , art, and self expression, can you tell us how you got nothing but the negatives ? do you not follow anything outside of generic gender norm hobbies ? your profile picture is a bit....like this is youtube why do you use a models profile picture ? im starting to wonder if it was tiktok , or were you just....kinda lacking any sense of self already ? i feel like a boyfriend , even your own dad, could have easily gotten you to do this. because when i see this content , i just laugh.
And they all look too alike! Mass produced beauty ...
I believe that to an extent, we do have inherent beauty standards.
Meaning that we could be raised with propaganda telling us one specific body type/facial structure is attractive, but we won't fully believe it.
We may be pressured into favoring it in the way that we want to emulate it to fit in,
but for the most part,
we won't be attracted to something that is objectively unattractive...
These faces are not even real, it's the same as to compare ourselves to 2D girls and be frustrated that it's impossible to reach this level of physical appearance in real life.
the genz beauty standard is EVEN MORE UNATTAINABLE from BBLs to looksmaxxing. i just watched a teenage girl get a BBL here on youtube. YES A TEEN!!!!
As a (young) millennial, I never thought I would reach that 'youth is crazy' moment - but here we are...
And making it sound like self love is so backwards.
@@flowerbloom5782I know right..when I comment something under a video about some teen getting plastic surgery cause she's so into those trends, everybody tries to fight me back like "it's their choice, she can do anything she wants, it looks far better" etc...in my opinion that's just straight up sad. I think that recently beauty standards and marketing towards women have been shifting from a "one size fits all" approach to being about finding what suits you as an individual (person color analysis, kibbe, etc.), meaning that it's getting harder to monopolize on one singular trend or look. Now, beauty companies are tapping into a new naive market found in men, using the same tired tactics that women are starting to grow resentful of
Woman have just become significantly more promiscuous, and the selective pressure on men has increased even further.
You are so right. 20 years ago, women were obsessed with EVERYTHING about their looks, fashion and trends, while men couldn't care less. And when metrosexuals appeared, we basically bullied them for being gay and that was that.
Nowadays it's reversed. Insanity...
could not have said it better
yeah, sure, the big bad evil companies are at fault, as usual. seriously, what did you use to listen to this video? certainly not ears. the incels are the ones who found a correlation between their lack of success and looks (as incorrect as it might be), the businesses are just using the opportunity to sell them bs products. there’s still no makeup line to become a gigachad, men’s fashion is just as basic and bleak as it always was, and there are still no men lined up before beauty salons. it was originally just a small community of bitter losers online, but it blew up and became a trend for some reason, and now folks like can feel like experts thinking you came up with a perfect explanation
Holy shit, you are so right! Good analysis!
Its ok to be average looking, the vast majority of us are average looking. Rating peoples value on a 1 - 10 scale is incredibly dehumanising and just completely inaccurate.
Uhh what? Who tf even said that?

I really wanted to get mine removed 10 years ago, but am glad I didn’t because I have come to love my soft face, and my significant other seems to love it as well❤
True, your face changes so much in your life anyway. I'm 24 now and I lost my baby fat on my face lately + I got all of my wisdom teeth out and that surgery can affect how your face is looking as well. I used to have a chubby face but due to growing into an adult and that teeth surgery, I lost most of my face fat.

I totally agree on top of not every one being a 10/10 there is a wide variety of what a person can consider a 10/10 it's kind of depressing to see everyone trying to achieve the same face when there are so many gorgeous features out there...uggg
Even then, no one is a 10/10 to everyone. A 10/10 in one part of the world could be 1/10 to someone somewhere else in the world. It is like arguing what is the best colour - the very concept of ranking a qualitative group of characteristics by an explicitly subjective ranking system is so arbitrary as to be meaningless.

Smh.
Do you think this is a new thing?
@@elliotoliver8679 All kids can deal with bullying and anyone popular online will get negative comments about their appearance, but the widespread comments on male kids/teens/young adults criticizing their appearance is new. To act like beauty standards and social policing of appearance has been equal before the age of tiktok is completely misunderstanding misogyny and how media has primarily attacked women in the past.
honey sit down, your whiteness is showing
And they do not understand, that you, for example, can have totally different taste, and can consider their thends ugly.

As a lesbian, There's something inherently homoerotic about mens obsession with other men.
None of the guys I ever dated was a Chad so I dont understand this. All of my friends boyfriends are not Chads. Women honestly dont care about looks as much as men do.
Nah honestly I think looksmaxing/blackpill is definitely getting a bit off the rails but there’s definitely a decent crumb of truth to it all I’ve seen it alot in my own life experience (which is the only one I can speak for) but if a guy has a certain look they could be the biggest gronk and so many girls will look past it and find it funny genuinely seen it countless times around 18-20 alone and I get why people get frustrated seeing that and douche bags getting hella attention just cause of how they look and treat majority of people as less than in a subtle way usually but sometimes just outright and average dudes try everything under the sun just to end up not even getting a chance with 99% of girls they try to talk to or flat out friendzone permanently lol and after a while you either give up or go this route cause it’s too depressing to keep trying and being 4 and lower the make loneliness is the main reason this stuffs so outta hand imo so many dudes going through it and the number grows everyday
It is so strange and uncanny to watch k-pop idols, for example, where the whole face is redone, separately these facial features are made well, but alltogether they don't match with each other and it looks creepy.
I’m a woman with downturned eyes which I became really insecure about. I tried changing their shape with eyeliner and couldn’t even leave the house without my cat eye look. Recently though I’ve been embracing them and when I wear makeup I enhance their downturned shape. I have never gotten so many compliments on them! Looking at photos of those old hollywood beauties with big sad downturned eyes really helped me love them. 💖 Makes you realize how a lot of these beauty standards are just fads.

@@jayfasf6828 Yeah the people who get the same plastic surgeries totally don't look the same, right mr.tone deaf?
ok but as someone who's spent over a decade as a kpop stan, it's so funny to me how these internet bros are obsessed with this shit and it's like bestie do y'all really believe that almost every single idol you have ever seen hasn't had at least one plastic surgery??? like they don't look like that from birth or "glow up" from puberty/aging alone, it's usually plastic surgery, very commonly done are eye surgeries (usually to "correct" monolids) and nose jobs, but it's not uncommon for idols to have their bones literally SHAVED (or get implants to adjust their overall face shape, though I expect the shaving is more common because of korea's obsession with that V jawline).
tldr; the older you get, the less it actually matters what other people think of you. obviously there is going to be certain societal or cultural pressures to look a certain way or fit a beauty standard, but I found that as I got older, I've come to accept that regardless of what my body size or shape is or what my face looks like compared to others, I am confident in WHO I am and once you find that place, you'll find that you tend to be a less concerned about what other people think about you.
@@higurashikai09 What a hypocritical world we are living in...
gotta make some unfortunate changes to what you said because I agree with the top reply, women still care about not looking older, remember the tons of commentary youtubers complaining about the middle aged women doing stuff like not smiling so they "age slower" (amongst other methods)?
Bold of you to assume men who are that good looking would even look at you 😂
There is a difference between a set standard of beauty and attraction. I may be attracted by the way someone looks, but you may not. It doesn’t mean he’s unattractive, it just means he’s not attractive to you. Fussy men will never be attractive no matter how good looking.
clock it
So many people have such a black and white view of dating.

Like, don't put your own beauty ideals on someone else and don't judge people if they don't fit into this beauty ideal you got; you can have a preference but don't make someone feel like crap if they don't fit into your preferences.

ok, hear me out though. i was fat, i had a double chin. a big thing about double chin is actually resting tongue placement. naturally your tongue should sit against your palate, but many people unlearn that natural placement during their life
if your tongue rests between your lower teeth, you WILL have more of a double chin.

granted if you're 100kg overweight, you got other issues, but if you're closer to a normal weight, it's something worth looking into.
mewing helps with the fat under your chin

hunter eyes and prey eyes being submissive and breedable WHAT IS THIS??? HAHAHAHHA I CAN'T STOP LAUGHING THROUGHOUT THE WHOLE VIDEO ARE PEOPLE THIS DERANGED??? HAHAHAHAHA
oh yeah,they are,and it's terrifying
cis male omegaverse
Ironically enough such wording would disprove the fellas points ‘bout prey eyes being undesirable or something LEL…. XD
Literally yaoi type of shit 😭
Open Internet, read scientific studies before calling people with common sense "deranged". It is a sexually dimorphic trait that is subconsiously more desirible.
man discover basic beauty hacks and genuinely start taking care of themselfs, BUT ONLY WHEN IT'S MARKETED WITH ASSERTING TOXIC DOMINANCE, I luv our culture
They know they're gonna get crows feet and 11 lines from squinting 24/7.. right? 😂
To be clear, nothing wrong with having either or both but I doubt they'll be pleased
@@kelseycain3469That's if they try hard it. You just gotta have resting bitch face and you're good and that's from training your face to have it as your neutral expression.
This stuff is so funny yet depressing when I realize people are actually serious
exactly!
yeah but there is also something called the blackpill which is like people that look better and have better advantages because of their looks, anyways i am stuck into that cycle and i wish to get out of it, after 3 years of this i fully changed my appearence (14-17), it is truly so sad that i get treated way better just by looking way better but i still feel like this isnt someone should go through
@@mhrvfs123so the blackpill was right
Being able to smell when the sponsor is about to be mentioned 💀💀
Black seed oil can be dangerous in large amounts like the amount shown in these tik toks. Its fine in small quantities but absolutely DONT use too much
calling Alain Delon a "5.5" is crazy

@Ergonomics_1 he's a 9+ this is objectively true no one can deny it
Nah most Black pill community give him 9+ rating he is one of the psl god's he is godlooking
@@crappyaccount Same. Seems like a waste of money to alter one's physical features just because _other_ people have a problem. I DGAF what society finds "not beautiful" about my features. It's down to what I like, and nothing else.
It makes life a bit harder, but it makes it easier to spot the assholes from how they treat me, which helps me avoid bad dealings and situations with such folks. Anyone so shallow as to mistreat someone due to their looks is not be trusted IMO.
the main aim of self improvement and looksmaxxing used to be accepting what's not there and working towards whats there. and i think now we are heavily diverting from that point.
