AUSTRALIA'S BEST HIKING TRAILS | Ep 2 | The Great South West Walk

- Part Two of our thru-hike of The Great South West Walk takes us through some heavy bushland and burnt forest, before heading into the river section along the Lower Glenelg River.
We experience rough weather conditions for three days straight with this particular region of Victoria seeing a month's rainfall in just two days. Lauren also has a tiny mishap along the way, causing shock and tears. Enjoy!

We’re Scott & Lauren, a couple from Melbourne in Australia!
Our passion for travelling, backpacking and hiking started back in July of 2017 when we headed off to Europe for a 6-month backpacking trip, which would ultimately change our lives.
After returning in January 2018, the "standard" post-travel emotions hit. We both decided we would knuckle down and try and save as much money as possible before jetting off again to see more of this beautiful world.
Our first stop was meant to be Atlanta in Georgia, USA, where we were meant to be attempting an Appalachian Trail thru-hike beginning on March 18, 2020! But COVID-19 put a pause on all adventures that we had planned, forcing us to adventure in our beautiful backyard of Australia.

Great to see your videos of the GSWW! I just finished it last week and I saw some of your entries in the hiker logbooks. You guys did some huge kms on some of the days! Loved Pattersons campsite, one of my favourites on the hike. I reckon the running duck might have been the culprit for stealing Lauren’s undies on a ninja dash through the campsite. 🤣

@@LaurenandScott, yeah really loved it. The beach was the section I was least looking forward to hiking on but I took a few alternate routes off it along the way which broke up the beach sections nicely.
Bummer about the weather... and Lauren's undies! No mention of the leeches in the forest section? 😬

Thanks Amy! Yes, we completely forgot about the leeches! I (Scott) was lucky to have none but Lauren got about 3-5 of them. So difficult to get off! 😆
