- My golden retriever Ellie and I hide out at our cabin in the Northwoods of Minnesota while severe thunderstorms make there way into the area. One of the storms becomes so powerful that a tornado warning is issued. We seek shelter inside the bathroom until the storm passes.

survived a tornado years ago, it really does sound like a freight train, I was awakened in the night by my dog crying, I came down the stairs and realized it must have been a dream because my dog had passed months before, it was such a creepy feeling, the pressure was very weird, said my prayers and psalm 91 and praise God it jumped over our house, the noise was unreal, never ignore that warning. God bless you and your family and Ellie too, so cute to see her reaction to the bathroom safe zone.

Ellie is the best. As long as she is with you, she is content. My niece rescued a golden retriever years ago, that was the best dog. Their temperament is so sweet.

Not to make light of a tornado warning or Ellie’s fear of storms but I think it’s so relaxing being in a cabin in the woods when it’s raining.

I’ve been making breakfast for my 19 year old puppy ever since the little fur ball came into our lives grabs his bowl throws it on my feet over and over until I get him fed first. He’s trained me well.

I live near the Sand Dunes State Park and those little strawberries grow like weeds in my yard. They're so so good!
It's hard to believe where you are the temp is 68 with rain. In Texas today it was sunny 97 with an index of 107. We aren't even into the hottest part of the year. Lawnmower was a great find! Ellie as always looks beautiful. Take care!

Well, it's cool there's a contingency from Texas watching this channel. I'm from the eastern Hill Country (Marble Falls), and it was 97 degrees here as well. I do love it here, but also love northern Minnesota (used to visit a friend in Two Harbors, NE of Duluth). A beautiful state. I also just love Ellie as well. Super chill dog!

Texas is in tornado alley where I live. They are not fun. It’s been crazy this year with all the tornadoes going north! Glad y’all were safe! Thank you for including God in your videos! He’s the maker and provider of all we need! ❤

Now this is the best kind of camping. A spark plug can't be the only reason that mower was on the side of the road. That's crazy. If so, you just got yourself a brand new mower for the cost of about 6 bucks. Briggs & Stratton make the best small engines.
Clean the carb then tilt it backwards when starting.
Makes me wonder if they were mowing and it quit...so they pulled the spark plug to replace it.....only to fine their mower gone 😅
My cousin gifted me the exact same mower. He kept it up real good. Only mower I've ever been able to start right up.

@TinyCabinLife try the tilting thing..I had a mower that sat for a bit, wouldnt start and I found some lady on utube that suggested doing that and it started right up. Worth a try!

Wild Strawberries... I remember so many hikes and finding those, there is nothing like the taste of them. 😊 Yes, you may not have the mountains but the footage you share has so many similar qualities in it that I don't look for that. I just enjoy the beauty of where you are and have fun watching the adventure, Jack. I am so glad that this storm wasn't worse for you, that had to have been a bit unnerving. I always pray for people when I hear the storm systems coming in. No matter where they are. Excited to see the Jellystone video coming up. I enjoy seeing Riley and Olivia and how much Olivia has grown. It happens fast so I am glad that you take the time to be with them. Take care my friend.

I love a good rain storm, Ellie was so patient during the storm she knows you wouldn't let anything happen to her and she felt safe. Glad there was no tornado coming.
Jack my friend, out of the park with bases loaded.. I really love when the storms or Snow events happen and you in a different protection attitude which is self preservation. The last 10 year's our storms are more violent and praise the Lord you wasn't in the bike cabin. Love that meal and tonight I am going to make me some Nachos. With hurricane season upon us one of my biggest fears is the tornadoes they spawn. Hurricanes we can plan for, not so much the tornadoes. I'm so glad y'all are safe! And Ellie the strawberry connoisseur is such a delight! Thanks for another adventure.
I was just thinking....perhaps a 'happy hoodie' might help Ellie during thunderstorms, if she'd wear one. It's worn during dog grooms. Might help to muffle the sound.

it' seems as if there are more tornados in areas that usually don't get them. where i live in Pa we have had way too many warnings and even a few touch down ..Glad you and Ellie are safe ...take care my friend, God Bless

Go to the center of your house😊 many people hunker down in a bathtub with a matteress over their heads. And many survive this way. Basements are best! With a safe room built in.❤I used to chase tornados in Kansas.

I'm glad you and Ellie are ok. I've been through 3 dangerous storms at my home, and heard the tornadoes pass by during 2 of them. It is quite a nasty roar. One tornado was an EF4.

Great that you and Ellie are safe and no tornado came there I know it’s a very scary thing had a warning come in my area last year in Central NJ and this usually never happens there and had me and my family shelter in the basement but luckily nothing happened but really scared us.
In Kansas a warning just means to check your beer supply and make a run in case it gets really bad.

Wow what a storm. we live in California in the high desert Victorville. We never get rain like that mostly Highwinds that. Years ago on a trip to Sturgis SD..spent a few hours huddled in someone's basement waiting out a tornado. Was headed right for us..but it decided to head up into ND instead. Those nachos looked amazing ! 😁😋👍

I saw some of the damage from the tornado. Thankfully, I did not hear of anyone getting hurt, but there's a lot of property damage.
I'm surprised to see the strawberries out already. The ones I'm finding will be ready around the 4th. I got a secret picking spot. I'm thinking about adding it to a video. Maybe I'll make strawberry / rhubarb muffins over the campfire.

I love to hear rain especially on a Tim roof.because of mine and my husband's health we had to move to an apartment and we can't hear the rain at all and I miss it so much.we have a boxer mix and she hates storms she lets us know 2 or 3 days before a storm ever hits

Here in Arkansas we get lots of tornado warnings every year. They are pretty meaningless. The odds of getting injured by a tornado aren't much different than getting hit by a meteorite. Insignificant.
Jack, when a one person paddles a canoe you should sit in the bow of the boat facing the stern. Much easier to maneuver. Try it. I was raised near International Fall. Now live near Pacific coast.

I live in Southern Illinois. I endure tornado warmings several times a year. We have had a few touch down in the vicinity. In fact the Amazon warehouse was destroyed a few years ago. I honestly don't pay much attention because my house has a basement.

@@TinyCabinLife What is nasty about tornadoes, is when they happen at night. During the daylight, you can watch the sky and tell how far away they are and which direction they are coming from. At night you have to rely on sounds. I usually don't get too excited until my trees start swaying in the wind and rain coming down in sheets. Fortunately I have only had a 6' picture window blown out by straight line wind. And I've had to pick up several tree limbs after the storm. God protects his children.
