I don’t know if he had many movies with sound aside from the one he sang and danced, but his movie ‘the great dictator’ resulted in one of best speeches in cinema history.
Chaplin had travelled several times between Europe and the USA on board of the sistership of the Titanic, the Olympic, which served the line across the Atlantic over 20 years until it was scrapped in the early thirties.

All I need for a comedy is a park, a policeman and a beautiful girl. Charlie Chaplin.
He made some sound pictures, but only very few, because he was aware that his art was the pantomime and with the introducing of sound in the movies this artform and his iconic figure on the screen, the little tramp, would become obsolete. He felt that he had nothing special to contribute to the sound picture era, so the breaks between his movies became longer and longer . When in 1928 he was working on his movie "The Circus", which he had begun as another silent comedy, the talkies had their general break thru. Thus he interrupted the shooting of "The Circus" to observe, if that trajectory were permanent or only a short living gimmick. When he had to recognize that talkies were not a shortlived fashion but would stay, he decided to release "The Circus" as his last real silent movie. In 1931, when talkies were already firmly established, he made another "comedy in pantomime" as he called it with "City Lights", because he wasn't ready to give up his iconic tramp figure, which he knew would lost his effect on audiences, when he would start to talk. "City Lights" wasn't a silent movie in the strictest sense of the word, because it was actually released with a sound track onto the movie reels, but it contained no dialog, only music and sound effects. In the same way he released "Modern Times" in 1936, his last movie in pantomime without dialog. With this movie he said farewell to his beloved figure, the little tramp, who neve rhad spoken a word on the screen, until Chaplin let him sing a gibberish song in a scene shortly before the end of the movie. That was the first time audiences could her Chaplin's (wellsounding) baritone voice. It was nearly ten years after the introduction of sound in the movies. In 1940 he released his first complete talkie, "The Great Dictator". His next movie was "Monsieur Verdoux", which was released seven years later in 1947. In 1952 he released "Limelight" in Europe, for which he won his only regular academy award over 20 years later in 1973 for best music. In 1957 then came "A King in New York". His last movie in 1967, which apart from a short cameo he had only produced and directed, was "The Countess of Hong Kong", an only slightly amusing comedy with Sophia Loren and Marlon Brando in the leading parts. It was not very succesfull at the box-office, only the title song, composed by Chaplin became quite a hit in rhe charts worldwide.
