The problems isnt accepting yourself. It is that society rewards certain personality types. This leads to positive reinforcement for the people who naturally have those traits and crippling insecurity for the people who arent like that naturally.

    • @justthebest2531
      @justthebest2531 ปีที่แล้ว +14

You can't experience society rewards until you approve of their rewards , you conditioned yourself to accept rewards only when society rewards you
If you knew you were a black charismatic guy in your country and you traveled to an underdeveloped country that is racist to blacks , would you hate yourself if the people of that country ignored you or looked at you in disgusted, the answer is no cause you don't value there judgments

Julien have you read the book The Triple Package? Basically saying that all successful people are driven by a superiority complex, insecurity, and impulse control.

The fact isn’t that these people can adapt to alpha traits. It’s that these are psychopaths, sociopaths, narcissists with low oxytocin in their brain which deprives them of having normal social interactions. These “artists” who claim to teach people don’t reveal the truth about their customers. Many of them are mentally unstable and have s complete lack of brain chemicals in comparison to normal human being. #truth #exposed. Money being made off the weak!

Yes and no. Yes, people do reward certain traits or behaviours. Alot of times, those traits might be appreciated for good reason, too. Someone is more caring, more responsible, more hard working, more optimistic, etc, those behaviours are worth appreciating. But, the when it comes to personality types, I don't agree. There is no personality type that people appreciate more than the other. Humans are naturally nervous. Everyone's insecure. And so, we're are ultimately drawn to those who are more confident and more assured of themselves. At the end of the day, society values the people who value themselves, and that takes a massive amount of self-acceptance and appreciation. Accepting your flaws, embracing them, saying "this is me, I need to stop trying to reject this side of me and own it." When you finally learn to detach your self-worth from other people's opinions and decide to give yourself higher value, when you move ahead with complete appreciation and acceptance of who you are, it's shocking how the same jokes nobody used to laugh at before, everyone will be rolling over because of now, and how the same people who made fun of you, will be telling you how great you are. And it's not because you changed or their perception of you changed, but because your perception of you changed.

@@JulienHimself Funny story, I actually met Brandon Call at a shuffleboard tournament years back.
      I was star-struck.
I got my first taste of the Hollywood limelight, and I was in a state of transcendental ecstatic bliss. My chest swayed, my eyes rolled back in my head and I gasped, "Brandon Call, right? From Step by Step."
He acknowledged me with a gleeful smirk and a proud nod.
      "That's me."
Sprawled on the concrete, writhing in ecstacy, I managed to garble out a few more words, "they don't make shows like that anymore."
He agreed and proceeded down the boardwalk hand in hand with his supple wife.
It's impressively gracious that a man of such caliber would ever grace my presence, let alone stoop to the level of the common man for a humble chat.
Since then, I've reflected back on that day with great reverence pondering where would we be now if back when even before they made shows like that, we all got to experience a certain level of precision entertainment that people were never able to get when they can't even watch it before they did it now!
      I'll miss those days. 🫖 ❤️ 🍿

Biggest hurdle....actually truly wanting to change....knowing what i am changing for.....also bpd makes is very difficult personally not to delve into the negativity of what people are saying about me because when im triggered mainly if someone is angered at me or criticizing me or if ive done something wrong i believe the hurtful hateful words more than any positive ones because i believe that of myself and spiral. Looking at bpd treatment and management but yes emotions for me can overtake badly and sometimes i cant identify what emotion it is.....anger, depression, sadness, despair, emptiness, disgust....the whole lot. Still finding the source but it has to do with my father and the fear i still carry with me as though im that scared child still.

He's actually putting out spiritual teachings with some bravado.
Not sure I'd call it confidence what he has. Confidence sounds like having the bravery to overcome the situation. What he actually has is clarity i.e. he realizes there is no issue to begin with. Confidence isn't necessary when one realizes the issue one thought to have is based upon illusion/ there's actually no problem to begin with.

Y'know, I put on that first coat because it protected me. That felt good. But it got colder, so I put on another coat. That worked...for awhile. But then I read that a a storm was coming. So I put on another coat. The storm came, but my coats protected me. Plus, the new people I met in the storm liked my coat. They didn't know there were more coats underneath. But then those people, over time, lost interest in the coat that they could see. I didn't want to be lonely, I wanted to be accepted. So, even though I had to pay for every new coat, I put on yet another coat. Winter passed. Spring was coming. The coats were heavy. It was getting warmer. I knew that I didn't need the burden of all of these coats to keep we warm anymore, but was afraid that if I took off all of these coats, the people I now knew wouldn't recognize me anymore. So I kept a stiff upper lip and smiled through the discomfort. And every time I added a new coat, those new people complimented me. But it was becoming difficult to simply stand, much less move in the way I wanted. But loneliness was worse than discomfort. So I kept putting on those coats...until I collapsed.
And when I did, those people that liked me for my coats didn't help me up.
    Lesson learned.
    Nice vid, btw ;)

It is also the only thing that truly solves the issue at its core.
Most other approaches are actually forms of avoidance i.e. going to a psychologist in hopes he'll tell you, while all you had to ask yourself is 'where does this come from' and then repeat 'is there more to it' until you trigger a release.

When I was a child I had two uncles that made me feel (and explicitly said so) that I was dumb, that I couldn’t do anything. Not always but I remember. One of them would ask me to do something I never did before and expected me to do it first time and quickly. Not too difficult stuff, like opening the rear door of a truck. But I never did before nor anyone taught how. I know I’m smart, If he would have taught me i could have done it.

That's literally the same as how my dad tried to teach us, his sons things. He thinks we're stupid just because we weren't able to do things excellently the first time and the result of that is some of my brothers have learned helplessness now. I developed my own learning system by observing how my dad and his friends do things I learned. I already forgave my dad because I know he's just not that good of a father figure but he's a good provider and he taught me how to not be a narcissist by observing him.

Yeah, I like myself, love myself, because I love the person I am and my personality and even when I struggle I have self love for myself I never say I am shit or stupid, at a core I wouldn't say that but I still have insecurities and so I am not immune to someone making a personal comment where they judge me as the opposite of how I judge myself and it's like why don't they think that's me? That is me, that's what I am into but they say I don't look like or come across like that kinda guy? It's my ego of self that's been penetrated and another thing is sometimes I might not look great, not the kinda guy who girls instantly fancy or people judge positively as a confident and attractive guy. Why? Because of my own thoughts and reference experience. In work or any other setting I feel self conscious thoughts like this how they judge my first impressions, I am better at night when I go to bars and clubs and it's not due to drink it's just I feel I look better but more so I just feel more naturally confident and free and I can approach and talk to new people but I sometimes will have moments where I am not in a good flow and then I can overthink and think they are thinking thoughts that not be so positive about me

Wait but how does that get you anywhere, then you‘d base your inner work on the goal of being recognized by others? How can you possibly aim to be charismatic whereas a true charismatic person doesn‘t care about it‘s glory and charisma is just a product of his self-being? I notice you‘re often talking about reeling others in and supercharging your own self. Isn‘t this promoting what you should abandon in the first place: the need of other peoples perception?

Julien, the solution to the human problem is NOT within yourself.
"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)
Man is a sinner, and sinners need the redeeming grace of God. ALL the problems in the world, involving humanity, are cause by sin. YOUR sin causes YOUR problems with yourself and others. Sin is what sinners do. In order to not sin, you MUST be changed from a sinner to a saint.
This happens through Jesus Christ, who died on the cross and resurrected three days later, and promises that "Whoever believes in me and Him who sent me HAS eternal life. He does NOT come into judgement. . ." (John 5:24)
Then, once you are born again into the family of God and are a child of the Heavenly Father, you will receive the Holy Spirit. HE will produce in you "love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faithfulness, and self control." (Galatians 5:22-23)
Pursue the Lord, your Maker, and HIS Kingdom and righteousness. Jesus promises that everything else, which this internet guru tries to SELL you, WILL be given to you from the Father (Matthew 6:33).
If you will not repent (of porn, fornication, bitterness, etc.) and follow Jesus in all He says, the Bible says there is NO peace for the wicked, and ONLY the judgement of Hell remains.

Looking for solutions outside of yourself to fix how you feel is the core of the addictive process. Julien is right. Finding the safe haven within yourself creates a base of emotional security that nothing else can provide.
The way you achieve peace is by a process of delegation. You are outsourcing a vital process to a religious text. As such your peace is conditional and brittle. The defence against that is to increase the fervour and deference towards a higher omnipotence that solves all.
Keep cherry picking quotes that make you feel better if you like. I'm sure it can work on some level if your faith holds. I will search within myself for the love I seek. When I find it, I will be the master of my own peace.

Funny story, I actually met Brandon Call at a shuffleboard tournament years back.
