Theyre using Victory technology. Im still mad they ditched the brand for hipster bikes. Theyre just not as aggressive as the Vics. Im no fan of bedazzled leather and shit hanging everywhere.also not a fan of the prices either. Polaris is a rip off now.

But a Scout will slaughter any Vic through the Twisties - they ARE the more aggressive ride if that's what you want. And they're very competitively priced. The big Vic's - especially the tourers - were under-specced and starting to look old by the time Polaris axed the brand 12 years later - so little had changed in the lineup; the Vegas was nearly fifteen years old by then! (still a damn fine bike today, though...) With the new Powerplus range Indian will effectively replace and upgrade the Victory lineup within just a few years - that's no mean feat. They just need a big power/muscle cruiser to compete with bikes like the Diavel, FXD-R new Rocket 3 - bikes that have all been introduced since the Hammer and Breakout changed the game in that sector. I love Victory, but when Indian came along it just made sense to go with that. Looks like it's paying off, as well...
I like it. As a former Vic owner, I'm happy to see them get back into comfortable, good handling, spunky cruisers. The engineers there are really good at that. Unless it comes with XM radio, I'll hold out for the Road King version.
I like Harley, but I prefer Indian. The Challenger name isn't original. Scout, Chief, Chieftain, now Challenger. Should have been Warrior, Crazy Horse, Tomahawk, or something along the likes

Love my 19 chieftain dark horse, i rip that thing through turns with ease. And comfortable when i wanna cruise. I’m not sure i personally will like the look of that new front end. Came from victory cx before this and Zx14 prior several sport bikes prior. R1s And Kawi. I can’t trash Harley. They make some good stuff. Have issues like anyone else but have come a long way. Indian / Polaris makes a quality bike from what i have owned. Harley will have to make changes if they are gonna compete with 120hp stock bagger. Not sure the look will catch on though. Have to see what that front end looks like and what that motor sounds like. Just my opinion.

They've designed a fixed faring touring bike to round out the offerings. I'd say it was to add diversity to their product line. There's one reason right there.
I think this bike will be awesome, I'm hoping they offer this engine on a cruiser model as well. Can't wait until big bore kits and supercharger kits become available.

Indian is certainly making quite big strides, i hope that, as a Harley owner they start making the same statements and not beat around the bush and make the same old bikes forever and merely tease what they could make by giving us an electric bike instead of a modern bike with modern tech and a modern motor with proper cooling and mechanical designs.
Are they making the right changes? Hard to tell. I like the new engine. That is a step in the right direction. Can't really say about the rest of it yet. I was excited that this new engine was going to go into what should have been either Victory Vision 2.0 or the Vision's replacement. I was excited about THAT bike. Then Polaris killed Victory. Now I don't care what they do. Polaris is dead to me. But I have a feeling this new machine will be an interesting package. Will I buy one? Not likely. I've already moved on to better things. And I'm keeping my Vision! Till the wheels fall off...
Harley is offering a 85 mile Electric motorcycle to compete with the Challenger. Most likely they both will be snickering at or near $30,000. Harley is banking on selling 1 or 2 of them to Lib Hipsters in San Fransisco so they can cruise from their apartment to the coffee shop.... LOL

They are cramped, overpriced old man bikes with a pretty nice engine that makes good torque but signs off too early. And if you don't fit on one, you will not fit on any because they are all the same frame. Except for the Scout which is even smaller! Having said all that, I will hold opinion of this new machine until I actually see and sit on one. I already know it won't beat my Vision, but let's see. At least the water-cooled engine is a step in the right direction. Again, let's see what the bike actually looks/feels/sounds/rides like.

Inside the place was full of so much leather it looked like a gay bar and everyone was talking about their bikes at home in the garage. since i was pretty much living on my ancient, beat up BMW at the time i wasn't impressed. Now those guys are all cage driver and their harleys are memories. My old BMW still runs.

It looks like Indian copied the look of the Kawasaki Vulcan Vaquero instead of the Road Glide.... It looks a lot like my 2014 Vaquero, but mine is a much nicer looking bike.

Ten year old technology made originally for the Victory, if the price crosses $25k for a fully loaded version it will be DOA.
I would like to test ride an Indian, but the nearest dealer is 5 hrs from my house. So I will keep my street bob until I can get that street glide.
5 hours away sounds like a good length for a road trip! This would also give you plenty of time to say goodbye to your HD.

Seriously Indian, I get why you chose the name Challenger, but seriously, pick a name that doesn't sound like it's going to self-destruct 73 seconds after you take off on it!
