    Indian is knocking it out of the park again. The two new engines are incredible but the 111 is still a beast. As a Victory owner I see so much of the Victory in the new Indians. My next bike will be a Indian for sure !

    I just wish Indian would produce a lightweight, street legal, close interpretation of their 750 flat tracker. Guzzi and Yamaha have had great success recently in the 700cc range. With the race winning pedigree of the FTR750, they would attract a younger audience. The blingy FTR1200 is soulless to me.

    Excellent update... I like it...very much! The fact that it is a large cruiser/tourer bike having a V twin with real horsepower, ride modes LIQUID cooling, (down here in Texas, that's a good thing)...the engine sounds like the real deal. Really looking forward to seeing the bike that they put it in. Harley really needs to take the same step...in my humble opinion.

    The industry is moving toward increased HP/weight ratios and a water cooled, 121HP engine from Indian appears to be good timing. This can compete with Triumph Rocket III and Ducati Diavel. Harley-Davidson needs a response to move beyond their antique designs.

      Dan Bogardo , I agree. Matt has done some great reviews on the HD but to hear him bash Indian because it’s got a fixed fairing saying they’re copying HD is crap. HD is stuck in the past with no innovation with their touring bikes. They throw a better radio and some other new functions but they still have the same shitty ride as before. @@motoGPness I'm not opposed to riding a cruiser for the fun of it. I've demo'd loads of bikes in the recent couple of decades, including cruisers. Well over 50 bikes from various manufacturers. But I cannot get over the absolute performance bargain that Japan offers in motorcycles.
      Certainly in the sporty bikes, you can get some ridiculously high prices (Germany and Italy for example). But in the general sense, for less than 15 grand new, you can get plenty of technology, comfort, speed, lean angle, fuel efficiency, engine longevity and smoothness, horsepower, reliability, relatively low service costs, reasonable insurance rates, aftermarket compatibility, and plenty of machine to grow into without getting a HD or Indian.

    • @motoGPness
      @motoGPness 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@exothermal.sprocket Yes the Japanese offerings are hard to beat in certain segments. The heavy bagger market isn’t exactly a miserly segment of motorcycles and that is the only segment the PP108 is currently in. Name me one new bike available for $15k that is competitive with an Indian Challenger? Of course I can get a Yamaha MT10 that would be a fraction of the cost, faster, low service cost, more lean angle etc... but I wouldn’t even consider it to put my wife on and ride from Virginia to California. The Goldwing is the nearest competitor and the bags on that are tiny, ergonomics are trash, it looks like a giant moped. I could’ve saved a few bucks and went that route but the Challenger was a better bike so I was ok paying more money. There’s guys with over 300k mi. On their Indian TS 111’s and many more on Victory 106’s who are still chugging along with no issues so I’m not worried about the 108 being a solid motor. Polaris has proven they make a good power train as far as I’m concerned. Ive had plenty of Japanese machines and they never let me down, but neither have my HD’s or my Indians. I think its all about comparing bikes within the same segment.

    Mmmmm! Another motor for another cruiser. Come on Indian, if you want to expand your range world wide you need to produce more non US style cruisers. The FTR 1200 was a big step in the right direction but much more is needed.

      @@quantum_coach fair enough, how would you design a basic cruiser? They all end up looking very similar in each respective category. Adventure bikes look like adventure bikes, crotch rockets look like crotch rockets, baggers look like baggers. HD doesn’t own the patent on any of these styles. HD has been running on that whole “they copied us” shtick for far too long. Similar, maybe but copy? No way, just their version of a bike from the same category as the Road Glide. The profile and curves are different, the entire windshield setup is different, the bags are different, the frame is different, the tank is different. These may be components, but they are visible components and to say they are a copy is just purely false. They don’t even look the same. Same could be said about the Yamaha Eluder, it had similarities, but no way was it a copy of the RG.

      @Richard Watson Jr. HARLEY DAVIDSON =💯 quality since 1903 family owned and operated to this day steel building motorcycles out of the same place and still have some family members running it Willie G is one of them 116 years only been bought out one time and WILLIE. G. and friends bought it back otherwise if any other company would have like Polaris it wouldn't have survived all these years after the fact good luck with wish you the best hopefully you won't get screwed like all the people that bought victories when they thought victory was doing so well and don't forget this isn't the first time Indian has been bought out by a company and not MADE IT SUCCESSFULLY!!
