@@Nyah420 my screen name in counterstrike 1.6 was shadow dancer. Alas people in early 2000 didn't know about sega's shinobi and thought i was an exotic dancer with that name.
Overrated videos of people screaming for literally 2 seconds, and somehow gets 30 million views. Or people making 10 second cartoon clips whispering "bad place" with an old man voice. Yes, lazy videos get this far compared to Iceferno and other people who make longer than 10 second videos.
I discovered it by accident. Was listening to Game OST’s on YTM, a race game song and a Tekken song . Out of the blue i hear this one playing afterwards. DAYUM This sounds epic i thought! Then started to research. I never had a Sega, but always felt it was for the cool kids with cool ass games haha. MAN what a track, thanks! The original sounds good too btw. But this remaster is some serious good work
Keeps the energy, desperation and danger of the original but intensifies it. You understood the meaning of the song; the message. This is where so many remixes get it wrong. Excellent remix.
I always try to stay faithful to the original in some aspects, some of my remixes are 'HD copies', but I do also experiment on occasion. I'm glad you noticed the detail. :)
The best boss theme bar none from my childhood (and perhaps ever). You truly did a wonderful job with this remix! Anything from Yuzo Koshiro with your talent is awesome!
I am not into remixes because they hardly ever keep the essence but this one is very decent! If they were to remake this game then this would be the perfect fit for the second boss as most said. Edit: saying the music was "very decent" is just not fair, it is PERFECT! Edit2: Ryan's Ford comment below describes exactly what I thought and did not find the right words to express myself. "Keeps the energy, desperation and danger of the original but intensifies it. You understood the meaning of the song; the message. This is where so many remixes get it wrong. "
Thanks a lot. :) I recently finished a Streets Of Rage album, but I sometimes wonder about doing something with Revenge Of Shinobi in future. I agree that this could be the 2nd boss theme in a remake. I could try a traditional version for the Lobster Samurai.
@@AlecIceferno interesting. I was literally about to re-compose this. had to check if had been done. a good mix. too ravey to fit the original concept of sythesiers

The Shinobi 3 Enhanced mod is good, but it doesn't let you save in anyway during the use of this mod. I wonder if anyone is willing ot make mods to this wonderful series? I'd be willing to pay them, long as its not something like £30, which is a price of a game.
If you are not compelled or motivated by this masterful art, then you must be dead. When facing adversity, this music can give you courage and peace to win the battle. Determination is defined by this work. Excellent creative skill was used in making this piece. I have found myself to be stronger with this 'terrible beat'. Again thank you to Iceferno Pro for consistently delivering quality music. I wish you continued success in your career as a motivator and artist. Blessings and good health to you!
I just went on went on a shinobi remix marathon in the past couple of hours and came across this just now. Fuck. This is by FAR the best cover out there. You better be making some big $$ with those skills or something's wrong.
I'm making some, but a lot of people aren't buying. I have a Bandcamp and recently put out a Streets Of Rage album: iceferno.bandcamp.com/album/streets-of-wrath
This remix makes me think of Joe Musashi facing off a revamped *Shadow Dancer* (Revenge of Shinobi's disco boss, not the protagonist from the homonimous game) and DJ K-Washi (from SoR4) at the same time, in a huge rave in one of the final stages of a really epic game. Or maybe John Wick in a fifth instalment, facing top-tier japanese assassins in just another rave.
Thanks. :) It was kind of a miracle it happened at all. I'm often so intimidated by certain game soundtracks, that it takes a long time for me to remix the themes.
@@Iceferno I completely understand where you're coming from with that. The final one I ever made as an F-Zero medley was something I was mulling over for years until I finally made it happen. Life changed aside, I felt like I wasn't ready until I just did it.
Your remix is much better than the original. If Sega remakes "The revenge of shinobi" one day I want this song to play at least during the fight against the shadow dancer.
Fun fact: The mini boss in stage 2-1 in Shinobi III, is literally the shadow dancer from the disco. I'm guessing he came back to life as part of the story. That would explain why there are lives in shinobi games! The original version of terrible beat is good, but its repetitive, whereas Iceferno put a new segment in his version, making it less repetitive while maintaining the style.

Still listening to this 4 years later :) Hope you're still making music. This mix has an nice breathy sound that makes it feel almost cold. Lots of strong reverb makes it a tragic song.
