elgatochurro they were unprepared about the aliens, they thought it was a regular cleaning duty which usually revilves around freak accidents not an actual alien invasion

Elkin Nort Lee Too many people to account for, one escapes without being caught and the public will most likely hear about it. The government blew up the place, because they knew even the military was a threat at that point, and there would be no other explanation for all of the deaths involved.

I like how as the HECU on the radio become more stressed, the song gets louder and crazier. Makes me think of an HECU grunt trying to make his way all the way back to the surface for evac only to be left behind.
That little bug you can get on your arm wasn't that supposed to be a tadpole race X, imagine if there was opposing force 2 and it grew up into a alien sidekick
I really enjoyed this. I like how the tempo increases as time goes on, reflects the Marines's desperation as the battle wore on. There's a moment in Black Mesa that really humanized the Marines for me. You're standing in a tower overlooking a street, where an Abrams tank is firing at a target down the street, when one of the alien flyers comes in and is frying the whole street. You can hear the commander screaming over the radio "Incoming! Enemy aircraft! Fall back! Fall back! BACK THE FUCK UP RIGHT NOW--!" The Abrams tries to pull back, but is too slow and goes up in flames. Just something I always found compelling.
@@ManLikeEddy you know, even in real-life war, the biggest weakness of all tanks (Abrams included) has been air power, even if the Abrams was fighting an Apache rather than a manta ray, it still would've been toast

I believe, that after Nihilanth death, Combine just switched they priorities and immedinately invaded Earth
2:53 always makes me imagine HECU running towards last evacuation helicopter, firing on the move. Some are falling dead, there are aliens everywhere. And at the end, helicopter takes off, leaving behind only dead and wounded soldiers, who are doomed at this point.
If someone could make some kind of mod where you play as just a group of HECU Marines trying to get to a helicopter extraction point, (much like the resident evil 2 remake 4th survivor run) where you have to fight through a horde of aliens while airstrikes are hitting all around synced up to this remix, that would be fucking awesome.
Seeing this picture just makes me imagine how awesome a Half Life inspired movie would be. Not that Resident Evil bulshit coming up with a totally new plot. A movie that uses the some story, just with new perspectives other than Freeman's. Awesome remix by the way!
Old comment is old. It couldnt focus on Gorden or Sheperd though, simply because they are mute protagonists. Youd have to follow someone else. Maybe Kleiner, Eli, or Breen?
I'd imagine it starting with the military entering the base wandering around the facility, killing scientists they find scattered through the facility, and eventually finding the first aliens, typical headcrabs, houndeyes, the vortiguant here and there, but as time goes on, they get a first hand look at the zen alien's tactics, and by then, they've lost a good portion of there squad. Then it get's to the point where they're back outside in the war zone with grunts shooting down dozens of HECUs, the Gargantuas picking and choosing which soldiers to incinerate like a kid in a candy store as the soldiers attempt to shoot down the beast with no effect, and giant manta rays shooting lasers at them from the sky. And by the end there are only two or three left running to the evac zone to escape, but get their shuttle shot down by a manta ray and crash right back into black mesa to be killed by grunts. Also one is killed by those little beaked bugs because he angered the nest but I can't remember the name of those things.
I love this remix so much. The sound of the fighter jets in the distance, the overall sound of desperation. It shows that at this point, the HECU left at Black Mesa were racing to get out before it was completely overrun with Xen creatures.
Yeah, it felt like your an HECU running down the corridor, barely slipping through the aliens, you're alone, no bullets left, you run to the exit but.... The chopper takes off and leaves you behind to die like the rest

I'd love to see more stuff from the perspective of the HECU during the invasion, my idea would be that It'd start a lot like OPFOR. you land at black mesa, and you're told by your squad leader to eliminate local security forces, being told that they're "terrorists" you of course comply thinking that this is all completely fine, you're then told to deal with some weird alien threat, getting occasional updates about the situation all around, for example, "be advised, we've cleared sector 4-c of threats, over" but as the game goes on, you get more and more reports coming in, saying things like "we've got some high level threat in the area, target designation: Freeman, move to eliminate" at which point, you start moving, but as you make your way through more aliens, you hear more disturbing chat on the radio "we need support at (gunshots) sector 8-f, I repeat, we need (gunshots)" then "sir, we need heavy arty on location-" "we need heavy armor support, right now, over!" before you can catch up to freeman however, you hear the last radio transmission "we are pulling out etc." then the last part of the game is the character going through an increasingly hostile environment before you get seriously wounded by a massive monster (see the fanart above) as you try to crawl away, you see a detonator for a large stockpile of explosives, meant for sealing off an area, your character then drags themselves over to the detonator to blow the charges, sacrificing yourself to stop it.
But who is the character? A regular HECU grunt? A HECU medic? A HECU squad leader? All change the story in different ways. Perspective changes the story

I want to see a expansion/mod for hl2 that shows America under Combine rule, maybe some HECU remnants could be in charge. That would be a perfect idea for opposing force 2 as Shephard could help his ex-HECU buddies
What I see about this whole incident involving the HECU is that they were told that the scientists were crazy, and had brought hostile aliens into this world. Now this doesnt excuse war crimes of course, but some marines were voicing doubts about the mission, and HICOM had lied to them about the incident (stemming from the G-man) And some marines were more ruthless than others, and took pleasure in their ‘easy job’ until it wasnt. Those marines dont deserve it, but those who didnt know the full story shouldnt be reprimanded for something they might not have fully understood

I think that it is the best HL remix you've made. All of them are awesome, but this particular one sounds really serious, while most of other ones feel much more... dancy, I guess. Once again, outstanding job!
Imagine you were a HECU. Marine, running for your life for an evac. There's only a Black Mesa security guard with you and your best pal', the guard named up otis, a fat guy said he heard something, and the APC about to take you to the evacuation just exploded, burning and a gigant gargantua XEN came out, wiping out 3 grunts and burning them to death, you started shooting, not enough tho, and the security guard started running to the armory behind you. Your pal now gets shot, burning, by the XEN and you started to drg him, while the gargantua gets shot by a bunch of marine's that were behind the APC. they get burned down and the guard appears with 2 glocks, giving you a SPAS shotgun and shooting down the gargantua, while your pal now was dead and the guard was nowrushing for is life whitout ammo. Now you're alone with a gigant gargantua, and every marine arround you is dead. Your commander is shouting at you on the radio that if you not evac in the next 5 minutes, you will be left for dead. You only can hear screaming of wounded marines and the gargantua is coming straight ahead. It's all up to you now.
This picture with music in the background gives me a lot of ideas about what's going on. Like panicked soldiers don't know what to do Officer's Madness Nuclear strike order the pain of a soldier who got in the way of Gargantua sounds of uninterrupted shooting and hopelessness of situations.
I can imagine that the HECU, instead of retreating, brings in it's entire army bigger than before and crushing the aliens with a final blow to the point where they manage to secure the entire facility to where it isn't desperately blown up by the Black Ops and when the Xen portal closes. AV-8B Harriers sweep the area with airstrikes and shoot down Mantarrays. M1A1 Abrams and LAV III APC's help the infantry advance, while AH-64 Apache's provide air support to the ground vehicles.
That's what the US military might have done if G-Man wasn't leaning on the higher-ups. Hence, the arrival of the Senate-owned Black Ops and the subsequent nuke
@@TheRoboKitty @The_Admiral even if that happens way too many eyes(servicemen) know what happens especially with most dead vehicle/personnel that has been eliminated will be harder to clean up. Hence sending BO's are unavoidable

Alright, for some reason I always imagine scenes to go with these Black Mesa remixes. And for this one, the idea of one last HECU push on the Lambda Complex came to mind, with you and a few security guards being the ones to defend the complex. As the HECU’s numbers start dwindling, you and the guards begin to retreat into the complex, barely escaping as the bunker doors shut and tanks start appearing. And as they close, you catch a glimpse of Race X aliens, attacking the marines that are left. Specifically at 4:10

Having just finished my service in the Marine Corps. the audio from the HECU is hear breaking, like they're not some macho brand of elite men. Odds are they're 19-25 max besides the pilots and commanding officers. Bros were chilling in the barracks until this emergency call brought them in, forcing them to experience the beginning of the end of the world. Granted it's messed up about killing civilians but I understand the sudden swap to hate Freeman. They're scared, confused and keep getting radio traffic that their friends are being killed all the while dealing with aliens for the first time in human history.
It would only get worse because when black ops arrive they’d now be fighting an entire elite highly trained military force that they thought was there to help them
Nice remix mate, just a noob question here, what are the different types of instruments/soundfonts/sample sounds used in the Forget about Freeman track? Really would like to know since I also want to make a remix of the track Forget about Freeman.

I had the best fucking dream that was playing this song. What happened was that I was in a point of view of another person a catwalk with different soldiers in a stand off with Agent Kelso from the Division video game holding what looks like Ellie from the Last of Us. Kelso also had a little girl with her that she has offering to give back in return of Ellie and as I was watching from the catwalk, another Agent that was from The Division came in and starting blasting (Also important to note that I once had a previous dream in THAT agent’s point of view) that killed the lights. The Agent was also being chased by a monster that killed most of the soldiers except the name characters but the girl with Kelso was teleported to me who I was on the catwalk. I knew I had to escape but the darkness and locked door stopped my progression, that is when another character from the Division named Aaron Keener threw me the keys from the other side of the door that I used to unlock it. Aaron did guided me through the hallway that led to the outside and the hallway was made out of glass that when you looked around, you can see city building’s balconies and windows but not the ground. Me, the girl, and Aaron in front starting running like hell with this song playing and we made it through the glass hallway onto a building roof that connected to other buildings that had gardens and restaurants people were eating. While we ran, guys in black armour similar to Combat Armour from Fallout 4, were shooting civilians and had their backs turned around and were trying to control the residents on the roof that has SEVERAL Aperture Science signs on the buildings. Aaron, me, and the girl were still running until making it up a stairway that led to another roof in which the soldiers noticed us before firing. We diverted our course into a garden with a wooden automatic lift that Aaron had put me and the girl in before sacrificing himself to holding the guards while FUCKING ROBOTS from Wolfenstein came raining down. And then I woke up knowing I had the best continuation of an almost forgotten dream. Thank you for reading

No matter how evil some of the HECU soldiers were, I will always feel bad for the shit they were forced to go into almost completely unprepared.
Metropolice along with their MP5 and kevlar vests
Elkin Nort Lee yeah they were there to kill the scientists, the rest of their equipment was for the aliens I think
elgatochurro they were unprepared about the aliens, they thought it was a regular cleaning duty which usually revilves around freak accidents not an actual alien invasion
Still killing civilians and blew up the whole facility to cover up something only a group of people knew is kinda stupid to be honest. Why don't they just rescue all personel and deal with those that involved later on
Elkin Nort Lee Too many people to account for, one escapes without being caught and the public will most likely hear about it. The government blew up the place, because they knew even the military was a threat at that point, and there would be no other explanation for all of the deaths involved.
Gordon is the kinda dude who you give him a job, he will do it right.
Shepard however, will literally try to do it in the most flashy way possible even if it endangers himself.

Fall back! Fall back! BACK THE FUCK UP RIGHT NOW--!"
The Abrams tries to pull back, but is too slow and goes up in flames. Just something I always found compelling.
The Abrams may be defensively powerful, but that doesn’t mean that it’s invincible.
@@ManLikeEddy you know, even in real-life war, the biggest weakness of all tanks (Abrams included) has been air power, even if the Abrams was fighting an Apache rather than a manta ray, it still would've been toast

Combine's Invasion was actually the only way to save human life on Earth.

I imagine HECU soldiers becoming doom guys as soon as this song begins playing

Reluctantly, he puts it on and gets out of there.
0:00: Main character finds jetpack

2:53 Augments start happening to his sword, making it much more powerful. You now cannot use stealth.
3:19 enemies start becoming way more skillful and more enemies are coming.
3:32 Everything now 1-hit kills. You die in 5 hits, though. Player learns all abilities and there are usually 25 enemies per area.
3:42 He sees the exit, and starts making a mad dash for it. The world is crumbling around him, and he is being hunted by everyone here.
4:00 he reaches the exit, but has to fight 40 enemies, but all are 1 hit kills. The player still has unlimited ammo, 1-hit sword, and unlimited/buffed abilities. He now dies in only 3 hits.
4:10 He jumps through the tear and is safe. His jetpack is gone and his mana is drained. His powers are somewhat limited, so now he only can store half the mana he used to.
He does have a small thing that looks like a bread crumb. he holds it up closer to the sun. It's shiny, and dissolves in his hands. He feels better now.

*when you are at the part where he kills you:*

You can tell how prepared HECU was by equipping their soldiers with MP5s to take on an Alien Invasion.
This is far beyond remix. You have made something equal to carpenter brut and perturbator, which are not comparisons I throw around lightly, this is godly.
Completely agree. This is up there with them.
This song would be absolutely perfect for deep rock galactic evacuations or swarms

Goosebumps every time B)

Poor HECU members. They thought it was gonna be a somewhat difficult mission but what they didn't expect was a man in a suit fighting aliens while they try to third party freeman. It is truly sad.
i cant stop listening to this
