If only we could jump in a time machine, set it to the 90s. Play outside and ride our bikes till sundown. Eat pizza while watching ninja turtles and power rangers. Then pop in those cartridges and play video games all night. 😢
Maybe you can.. just organize a day or weekend with some friends to do exactly that and nothing more than that. Be sure to have it all organized beforehand so you don't need to do any cooking and all that stuff. And even better if you have the opportunity to go to some old places you use to hang out with friends as kids. Ok ok, it will never feel 100% like the good old days, but it's gonna be cool and nostalgic anyways!
You never realize just how delightfully 90s a lot of these Mega Drive compositions sound until you hear them on real instruments. That piano especially, damn this is good.

Amazing. I miss the 90s. I used to go play this game everyday at my friends house down the road. I'd lose sleep with excitement and couldnt wait to go back to play. When the power adapter got hot from continuous play, we'd shutdown the console and wait impatiently for it to cool or put it in the fridge
🔥I remember when this game first came out we would constantly reset the game just to hear the intro and the soundtrack is probably the most awesome ever created for a video game in history🔥
Great to hear from a fellow remake fan. I 100% agree with you. As much as I love the original games Bomber Games took everything that was great about the original series and improved upon it. With the new direction SEGA is taking, embracing the fan project scene with Sonic Mania it's possible that they might take another look at SoRR. Maybe they can make a deal to save the game and bring it to consoles. Sadly Bomber Games doesn't seem to exist anymore and Bomberlink doesn't seem to be active in the scene anymore. But one can dream right? :D
This is such an eternal masterpiece, made by Yuzo Koshiro and you played it perfectly. Thank you so much for your effort. I really wish, I was in that room, when you performed this. Seriously, this performance touched my soul. All the best to you, guys.
I literally can't believe how perfectly played it is. Whenever I play something, I always play too fast because I'm nervous. But they nailed it perfectly.
Que coisa Linda mano!! Só quem virou fins de semana na infância jogando streets of rage sabe a emoção de ouvir isso 😊😍😍 bons tempos que não voltam!! 27 anos e ainda jogo até hoje.
The really amazing thing that it was originally crammed into a YM2612 chip with only 5FM channels, a DAC channel (for 8 bit sampled bass) and 4 PSG/noise channels all controlled by an 8 bit CPU running on less than 2Kb of machine code for the entire song. This was in the days before midi and PCM sampling.
thats because these people are ACTUAL PERFORMERS... what you see most DJs do in the modern day is play a track on a laptop and push buttons and twist nobs that dont really do much.
Not true, even if they have not lived that era, that songs have the capacity of made their minds travel. Its something like 80's music, produces nostalgic feeling of a era not lived

Просто читали книги, развивали науку. Сейчас просто переделывают то что раньше было сделано, по сути ничего нового. We just read books, developed science. Now they are simply reworking what was done before, in fact, nothing new.
Me as a guy which enjoyed Streets of Rage with Sega, still feel shivers when listen these melodies; so much emotional content, if we could extract the layers of our psyche and understand them like AI, we would see many features and nuances.
I don't know why but hearing this song I feel a peace. that moves me to the 90s with my sega genesis and my headphones. I miss those days, those 90s were the best of my childhood, today nothing is the same, not even the games, with this game I shared with my friends and brother, today's games do not have that human sensation, they do not even see the player
2019, still listen this track and my mind fly back to the 90s, im 7 years old... playing streets of rage with my father in coop on my brand new sega genesis 3
This song is legendary and as an avid Streets of Rage fan, you guys crushed this. The nostalgia and goosebumps come on so strong to the synths of this song every time I hear it. Amazing job! 👏🏻
I listened to this numerous times and I can only think of how much of a genius Yuzo Koshiro is. This will forever be part of many players who cherish this masterpiece. Even the famous Dr.Dre sample this theme for the rapper “The Game featuring 50Cent How We Do”. I’m sure Yuzo Koshiro you have to be proud of yourself.
I was 4 old, when my father bought me this game... now, I’m 24 old... Just Now, I returned into my childhood... Nostalgia, Tears, Wanna come back into 90x... Thank u, Yuzo!
Nah, I’m listening coz I remember all the way back when everything was just all about that post Cold War/pre Yugoslavian break up mess but, mostly, coz I remember my SEGA Mega Drive, then this game came out round about the same time, and then there was all the other 90s stuff that went along with it.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh omg this is beyond perfection! The second half with the medley was so cool! How did youtube never recommend this to me before wtf algorithm!?
I've watched this video dozens of times over the last few years and never really noticed how the cameraman is laying down the best bassline in all of video game music while also filming with his other hand. Amazing work!
Haha, that was me! :) Thanks! The best camera angles were always those from the players' perspectives, but at the time we didn't have the money to get 5 GoPros (well, I still don't...), so I just used my phone camera to try and get at least the bassline (Microkorg) and the two synths right and left of me (the Sixtrack on my right and the AN1x on my left). Cheers!
This goes hard...the instrumentation is spot on and how yall played it sounds exactly as if this is the inside of Yuzo's head at the time he composed this lol
I used to stare at the city 🏙 skyline at the start of the game for HOURS just mesmerized by this masterpiece 🎶 still gives me chills to this day ❤️ Thank you for making me relive my childhood for a few moments 🙏
In a way its a sad tune as my cousin & best friend are no longer here & that warm innocent childhood has since faded into nostalgic memories of a time gone by....
:.( I feel like crying. I miss those days when my family was full of joy. RIP dad this song for you for giving me and my brothers an amazing childhood.
Oh, he is! One of the earliest comments in this video let us know that Koshiro commended our performance on his twitter page only a few days after we published it! I'll have that printed and placed on my wall someday :)
The sense of urgency that this might be the last chance you get is ever present in this theme, it can really be felt in both of these themes, but I personally liked how the sor 2 opening had the iconic slap base tastefully added in there on top of that, and I feel it really helped make the music convey more emotion all around, more so then the original sor opening, you also feel that there is a sad undertone here, along with a longing for revenge it's spot on with the theme of the 2nd game, the music really made these games, If I could spend a day talking/jamming with someone from the video game music industry it would be Yuzo Koshiro he was [back then] and still is a talented musical genius.
Do yourself a favour and play it the way it was meant to be played. Surrounded by friends on a CRT TV with a Megadrive. Too much staring at phones these days, we gotta get back to basics.

Best track in the whole series, just makes you think of a city destroyed by crime, evil, and chaos...until a group of heroes decide to take it back
Fantastic track in the series, but not the best in my opinion.
games beat'em up memory flashback of the baddess n the bosses
Sounds like you just described all the democrat states but without the heros
