It’s Friday for me and today was awful. EBT was locked, did 2 orders EBO in an hour plus making $11. Took a break switched to EBT and not really paying attention ended up about 20 miles from home, made $30 but still. The next 2 orders had me going 15 to 20 miles further away from home and declined both getting kicked off. Switched to EBO and 4 straight orders were the same, upside down plus going away from home. Signed off and said F it. It usually does not work out good when I go to a more populated busier area, orders are far worse with more traffic. I am sort of outside this area and usually don’t get all these garbage orders.
I’m new to DoorDash. I need to wait till it gets busy in order to dash, of course. And all week nothing. I do have a regular job. My hours have been cut so bad that’s why I’ve decided to take up delivery for DoorDash and Uber eats. I can’t seem to get an order over five dollar order from Uber going 6-8 miles. I’m gonna give shop delivery a try this weekend. Wish me luck. Love your content!
You always manage to Crack me up Charlie! Wanted to throw out (unrelated to video) in case anyone was affected by Helene and/or Milton. I've been helping submit Claims for the elderly in my Community. The main problem is that the website auto-populates the date of 10/05 for Milton. The date must be 10/09. Or have the date the Storm actually hit for Helene. I didn't know and had to re-submit mine. You can get the $750 for loss of food only. On that screen, List 1st asking about Home Damage. Just below that, have to click on both (2), food & utilities. On another pg asking about weather. If only seeking the $750 Food Allowance. Must highlight Hurricane only. Using Direct Deposit, some ppl are getting within 2 days. So have your Banking Routing & Account #'s. Blessing to all! Praise God, a 1/3rd of my Community had total loss near Bradenton, FL. Because I have a new roof from Ian, & Hurricane tie-down strap on carport, no damage at all!
Flex as a program itself affected me and I don't do it - I don't like not knowing where I'm going. If I take a 3 hour order, paying $63 dollars. They could send me a hour away with a few packages, then it's a hour back - I feel like I'm losing money at that point. Plus, I also hate delivering to Downtowns because of parking.
Doordash skirts the line between independent contractors and w2 workers. Making you schedule on advance but telling you to schedule your have to take 50 percent of orders. So they may want to just not have any drivers they pay directly
You have the same car that I do. I have a 2016 Toyota Camry SE red. With the. 2.5l 2AR-FE four-cylinder motor I love my Toyota, but I have noticed it likes to use a little bit of gas. I used to do DoorDash full-time, but I no longer do this anymore. It’s not worth the mileage and damage on your vehicle. I’d rather go work at a normal job and let my car sit for 10 1/2 hours a day why I use a company vehicle and get paid 20 an hour
My thought is that if you go W-2, DD will take away the base pay and you will rely only on your tips for the extra money. With the base pay being flexible at times now and you found that was all the order paid in the end, you might find yourself empty when it comes to the no tippers. Especially if DD offers benefits and you'll be required to work so many hours, they will still win in the end as far as money. I wouldn't do it! Besides I can't imagine they are going to pay a decent hourly wage if you're getting tips. You will basically become a server on wheels. I'd take my chances and remain an independent. As always, time will tell. Btw, in the Live next week, any chance you can share some of the thoughts people had about where things will be next year? Would love to hear what other people are thinking. Stay safe out there!
Regardless, I'm just going to keep using these apps until it doesn't make sense to anymore. A W-2 job is the last thing I want to do, in the mean time I'll keep finding what I can do to start my own business that can replace these apps.
I waved the white flag about an hour ago. Made $100 in 6 hours and the icing on the cake was a chick stealing the order then backing into my car before she sped off
I had to deal with illegal scammers tonight - 3 dashers showed up at the same house with the same order from different papa johns. Order was for a female name, dude pops up out of the dark and tries to take the pizzas out of my bag. Instead he got the barrel of my gun. Made the person listed produce ID, threw the crap on the ground and left
@@hthompson2237 and that’s why I carry every day as well. Never had that happen but that doesn’t mean that it won’t. Take a picture of it and leave but honestly, I don’t do it no more so I don’t have to worry about doing crap like that I actually got back into the W-2 world working full-time year around 20 an hour 50 to 60 hours a week time and a half is $30 an hour making really good money. Let my personal car sit for 10 1/2 hours a day instead of driving it for 13 a day stay safe out there, man.
I tried the Chicken Big Mac. I was very disappointed. The breading erased the taste of the Big Mac sauce. If they used grilled chicken instead it might've been good. I can see that item selling better with individuals who don't eat beef like the Hindus, Indians (dot type/not Native Americans), etc. But most Americans are not going to like it (in the way it's sold over here anyway).
Random question... Have you had to take photos of where you found items on the shelf on your shop & deliver orders? It's obviously something new, but it's getting a bit ridiculous and is driving me crazy! I find the item, scan it, and it pops up asking me to take a photo of where I found it. It's doing it for like half of the items, so it's slowing me down. It has no way to not do it and it's not paying any extra. Just more work and wasted time. 🙄 I've had to deal with that all weekend and I do a lot of shops too.
@@TheBrashDasher Hopefully it's one of those short lived things they do in certain areas only and you don't have to deal with it! It's seriously the most annoying "take a photo" thing they have added in.
If it sounds like a pyramid scheme, then it is. Doordash is really sleazy. I wonder if the customer side of support uses the same Indian support or they just give us the crap support as drivers.
Hi Charlie, I'm not sure what happened OR what either Heather &/or me had said to be put in "time out", but it literally hurt her more then me. She kept saying "What dud I do?" So I let her stay up & watch a movie & have an extra scoop of ice cream. Anyways, just wanted to let ya that we're still around, but she may not want to lives for now. 😖

Please pass Heather my apologies and let her know she didn’t do anything wrong. you and her will get a mod wrench next live I see you so it doesn’t happen again!
So these people who want to start their own delivery business and they partner with door dash, does that mean that a customer will be paying double delivery fees? One fee to the new delivery business and then I’m sure door dash would still charge their fees to the delivery business.
That’s what I usually say too. I have a Toyota Camry that I drive to It’s funny because he and I have actually the same vehicle except his is white and mine is red.
Awesome video. I don't see any way the concept of Door Dashe as we know it cojld be economically feasible in almost any area with W2 drivers.
