People have forgot what luxury is and now expect anything done for whatever they already paid for. You don’t go to a Vegas hotel on the strip and don’t expect to pay crazy prices when ordering from there in room dine in options. You’re going to pay a hefty fee and if you can’t afford it you shouldn’t participate as you have more important things to worry about. Unfortunately everyone wants to feel special and feel included with participation awards that this is the society you get. “I did my part, why should I do more?”
I tend to think of it as ordering lunch on DD/UE is for the convenience of not having to leave work, wait for lunch at the local crowded ass CFA, then barely have enough time to eat in the car before you have to head back into the office. kinda like the $7 spark S&D for a single candy bar. going 0.1 miles. I don't understand their logic, but i appreciate the hell out of them for it.
Walmart did the same thing to me. I got all the way back to my store and they send me a return to pickup from the area that i was just in. Should have sent me that while I was over there

The only way to make any money with earn by time is to go slow. Especially if it’s very close and the restaurant is pretty fast. You will make 2$. Not worth turning on the car for.
1099 You are an independent contractor you still have to pay taxes on the money you earn. You can pay quarterly or you can wait till the end of the year to pay all of it. But you get around that by writing off your car expenses to lower your taxes. Maintenance cost. Mileage depreciation or gas spent. Phone bill car insurance.

Had to drop one cus restaurant didn’t have order and told me it would take 20 min ( for 5 bucks no way ). Got one more 5 dollar order then nothing . It’s so bad in my area it’s unreal . There was orders but tons of dashers last night and I’m not back to plat yet. At gold. So hard to get back up there when no orders! Two days this week I made 5 bucks doing dd. Thank god instacart saving me. Dd is complete trash company .

He might have ordered through the website it was a pizza place. My question is where does DoorDash take the money out of for the order? Is it coming out from my pocket and I haven’t been noticing?
