Back in 1994, the Avengers ended up voting to dismantle the West Coast team. Wanda, who was a member of West Coast team rage quit because Cap said all former West Coast members were going to be demoted to reserve status.

But Peter never got kicked out. He was a reserve member for years because he didnt like working with a group, but he'd show up if they needed him. During Civil War he left the Avengers on his own. So, not kicked out.
