They have consistently written Captain Atom off badly and really don't understand the nature of his powers. For example in the fight with Superman, he was getting tired - but as a being of energy that should never happen. In the Injustice arc, all they would have had CA do is mimic Kryptonite energy and that's all she wrote.
Strong 💪🏾 list Amazing 🤩 Amanda , not truly being up on current comics , I can’t offer any suggestions for a part 2 , but Please make one …Although I do believe Kyle Rayner has not been around for awhile…Pre Spyrll Helena Bertinelli/ Huntress is my personal favorite Gotham Girl over Babs, Cassandra, Steph, Selina, Harley, Kate, Ivy ect ect definitely over Punchline, & yes even Dinah , but that’s close … Staying Nerdy , Keep Up The Great Work 🖖🏾
Yeah. Super annoyed about that. One of the reasons I eventually stopped collecting comics. Got tired of crappy writers and editors screwing up the characters.
Hawk & Dove did make an appearance in "Titans" as reoccurring characters. But I only watched the first season, so I don't know how if they continued into other seasons.
Another hero DC doesn’t seem to utilize as much was the up and coming spectacular Yara Flor Wonder Woman. Hope they don’t squander that character’s potential.
Thank you Amanda for the honorable mention of John stewart in the spirit of February celebrating all things black excellence with one of the greatest of all time 💍 💚👑🙏🏾
Thank YOU for commenting. Hopefully I get to talk about John throughout the rest of this month in a more positive light. He's a great character and deserves all the love and respect. I don't know HOW I'm going to bring myself to take him out in the newest Arkham game. :')
@@VampX13 Wait their putting justice league members in a new Arkham game???? 👀👀. It must be Arkham meets mongul and the rest of war world for a heavy hitter like that to take place even though i could totally see a storyline where the scarecrow gets a hold of some serious fear gas laced with the yellow spectrum helping the rest of the injustice league take down the JLA in crazy team up with mongul and war world with an asylum backdrop 🔥🔥🔥, YOU'RE WELCOME DC 😂😂🙏🏾🙏🏾.
Gavin King’s Orpheus…he had a very short run , never really catching on which as a Black man disappointed me , because he had a cool backstory & Amazing looking custom …being Black History month he’s my choice…Staying Nerdy 🖖🏾
I remember a comic a few years back called "Captain Carrot and the Final Ark", where the Zoo Crew and some of the Just'a Lotta Animals came to the post-Crisis Earth (in "Boa's Ark), but they were just ordinary animals. The Heroes who found them wondered why there were so many costumes in the ark, but that was how the story ended.
Dolphin's been around since the 60's. I remember seeing her in stories with The Sea Devils - another blast from the past - along with Rip Hunter, Cave Carson, and The Challengers of the Unknown.
Vibe isn’t really that obscure… he was a full-time member of the Justice League in the early ‘80s. He joined around the same time as Vixen and Steel. Collectively, there were only 19 JLA members before them… (but they only lasted about 16 issues - maybe that’s why Vibe was overlooked.)
I would go with the Huntress from "World's Finest: Powergirl & Huntress" which had Helena Bertinelli was an alias for Helena Wayne when she came over from her dimension
Just a few comments from me - Captain Carrot appeared in the series leading to Dark Crisis - Justice League Incarnate and maybe also in Dark Crisis (still haven't finished reading it). Hawk and Dove appeared in Titans Hunt couple of years back - as a long time fan of Young Justice show I really enjoyed that series. Sideways as concept was good, also his series was pretty solid in my opinion. Too bad none of the heroes was popular enough to stay permanently. Only downside of New age of heroes was that they all felt like ripoffs of Marvel characters - Damage seems too similar to Hulk, Terrifics were DC version of Fantastic 4 with the same powers, Sideways could be considered DC's Spider-man etc Didn't know about other mentioned entries in the list except of Captain Atom who I remember from Brightest Day event and Dolphin who I remember from Young Justice but can't say for sure which version came first - whether it was in Aquaman comics or TV show
1:12 - for context, because Alan Moore wanted to use a lot of characters DC had just acquired the rights to for _Watchmen_ and was refused, so he created paper-thin ripoffs of them.
Paul Moses From RED Know As Frank Moses In the movie adaptation the sole protagonist In the original RED graphic novel until the 2010 movie but ever since RED 2 the character and IP are collecting dust hopefully DC can bring It back or not
😢Captain Atom comes and goes. They'll eventually come back around to him. The Armageddon 2001 crossover really screwed him up. I wish DC/Warner would develop a Justice League animated series that covered the JLI era when Atom was more prominant. He had an interesting arc in JLU.
I had never even heard of dolphin until Young Justice and that was only from seeing a review of the episode telling me that the character was dolphin. It's like oh okay
During Blackest night one of the writers at a comic con where asked about Captin Atom. And the writer who started doing comics working on Captain Atom comics said "They don't need him in the DC landscape, because he's essentially a less interesting version of Firestorm".
Tom king is so useless writer that even dont know about captain atom powers or solomon grundy, all his run trying to ruin characters like catwoman defeating speedsters or batman whistling, worst writer ever...
Dolphin was definitely on Young Justice and had a pretty decent arc
Damn they did Captain Atom dirty.
They really did!
There is sadly not much to do with him since in DC the government is usually against the heroes and all that.
They have consistently written Captain Atom off badly and really don't understand the nature of his powers. For example in the fight with Superman, he was getting tired - but as a being of energy that should never happen. In the Injustice arc, all they would have had CA do is mimic Kryptonite energy and that's all she wrote.
Nice list… I would love a part 2 with Crimson fox, the Global Guardians, Buletteer etc
What about Owlwoman, Bushmaster, Flamebird, Tasmanian Devil, Nightshade, or Bloodwynd!
Wasn't Bloodwynd retconned to secretly being Martian Manhunter?
And also Cyclone, Liberty Belle, and also Fire, and Ice!
It would be neat to team up both hero Huntress' against the villain Huntress. Three Huntress' together.
Didn't know about the female version of Aztek.
Silencer in another character that disappeared after her own series.
Hawk and Dove were really cool to see in the live action Titans show
They were the best 0art of theTitans TV show.
Strong 💪🏾 list Amazing 🤩 Amanda , not truly being up on current comics , I can’t offer any suggestions for a part 2 , but Please make one …Although I do believe Kyle Rayner has not been around for awhile…Pre Spyrll Helena Bertinelli/ Huntress is my personal favorite Gotham Girl over Babs, Cassandra, Steph, Selina, Harley, Kate, Ivy ect ect definitely over Punchline, & yes even Dinah , but that’s close … Staying Nerdy , Keep Up The Great Work 🖖🏾
SPYRAL not SPYRLL 🤦🏾♂️ sorry 🖖🏾
Captain Carrot and the amazing zoo crew was so damn good.
Characters who were commonly disrespected include: Bette/Betty Kane, Doug Ramsey and Val Amorr
If the CW decides to make more shows based on DC properties, Huntress should be one of the properties under consideration.
Cw ya no existe
And now I'm reminded of how DC screwed Hawk & Dove over in the 90s with the Armageddon 2001 thing.
Originally it was supposed to be Captain Atom that was revealed as Monarch, but the ending got leaked so they changed it to Hank Hall.
Yeah. Super annoyed about that. One of the reasons I eventually stopped collecting comics. Got tired of crappy writers and editors screwing up the characters.
I’ve been wondering what happened to side ways because I think his character is underrated in my opinion.
Dolphin showed up in Young Justice in 2019 i believe.
Dolphin is back she was in beast planet Amanda Waller captured her
Hawk & Dove did make an appearance in "Titans" as reoccurring characters. But I only watched the first season, so I don't know how if they continued into other seasons.
They came back after season one.
Another hero DC doesn’t seem to utilize as much was the up and coming spectacular Yara Flor Wonder Woman. Hope they don’t squander that character’s potential.
She is in Tom King’s current Wonder Woman run along with the others who have been Wonder Girl Donna Troy & Cassie Sandsmark 🖖🏾
@@rodneylindsey849 Cool
Yara Flor Forever!
Captain atom 🤩
Hawk and Dove are pretty cool in Titans...
Rob loves Captain Carrot. Captain Carrots a super bunny.
What about Halo from The Outsiders!? Where'd she go?
I always liked Helena Bertinelli.

Very interesting. I was aware of Hawk and Dove as brothers. The male Hawk and female Dove, but I didn’t know there was a Hawk and Dove sisters.
There was also briefly a completely different set that had a woman as Hawk and the guy as Dove. They were members of a rock band or something i think.
Which heroes do you want to see return? 👀
Gavin King’s Orpheus…he had a very short run , never really catching on which as a Black man disappointed me , because he had a cool backstory & Amazing looking custom …being Black History month he’s my choice…Staying Nerdy 🖖🏾
Rampage...The Kitty Faulkner version, who is NOT a villain.

Ha4d to believe that Amanda didn't know Vibe.
Helena Wayne Huntress is in Crisis on infinite earths part one 2023
They disrespected the Watchmen :(
Hawk and Dove showed up in the Titans show, not sure if this counts for the purposes of this list lol
came here to say this
I clicked on this list so quick! 😂❤
Hawk and Dove as avatars of War and Peace? Is that a recent retcon? I thought they were avatars of the Lords of Chaos and Order.
They were also in Titans Hunt in 2015 idk if they had a rebirth run or not

Plus he was killed off and nobody cared.
Amanda please cosplay as Maxima
Appreciate another Captain Carrot fan.
i'd love for the zoo crew to come back. they are so cool.
I miss Sideways
Dolphin is Delphine on Young Justice?
I would go with the Huntress from "World's Finest: Powergirl & Huntress" which had Helena Bertinelli was an alias for Helena Wayne when she came over from her dimension

With the JLU run coming, we can hope Captain Atom will have spotlight again.
what happened to the Gotham city hero Faith?
I thought Captain atom power was atomic
Dc really did Dolphin, Huntress, Captain Atom & Sideways so dirty.
We need more Chunk.
Paul Moses From RED Know As Frank Moses In the movie adaptation the sole protagonist In the original RED graphic novel until the 2010 movie but ever since RED 2 the character and IP are collecting dust hopefully DC can bring It back or not

firestorm after lazarus story
Not necessarily a hero but Silencer is another one who has disappeared. DC has a LOT of characters that they've just forgotten about.
Hawk was played by Alan Ritchman on the Titans live action series.
I had never even heard of dolphin until Young Justice and that was only from seeing a review of the episode telling me that the character was dolphin. It's like oh okay
cool
Captain Carrot was a part of the latest Harley Quinn story arc.
How about Kyle Raynor?
Kyle became Ion for a while.
Hawk and Dove are Avatars of Chaos and Order, not war and peace. Their power levels are also vastly improved in more magical realms.
I think Hawk and Dove were also in Titans I might be trippin though
In the comics they were West Coast Titans and joined the main team here and there.
They were included, powerless, on the live action Titans TV series.
I liked dolphin when she was a member of justice league task force
Hello there.
Dial H for Hero😮
My ginga ninja
😊😊😊
Dolphin came back as a black lantern in blackest night
I always felt Icon got super disrespected.
Everyone from “Bloodlines” that wasn’t Hitman.
I'm surprised that this list doesn't have Mia Dearden.
They tried to reinvent Captain Carrot as "Captain Ka'Rot"...a rip-off/take on the current version of Marvel's Rocket Raccoon
What about Team Titans????
The best Huntress is Helena Bertinelli
Helena Wayne us a great character, I dont cate much about Helena Bertinelli.
More amanda
American Comics just really stink rigt now!
All the "original heroes" that were presented with sideways were copies of marvel heroes.
Dc Comics do heroes like Wwe do superstars 🤣
yeap....I can think of a few........................................., baby.
During Blackest night one of the writers at a comic con where asked about Captin Atom. And the writer who started doing comics working on Captain Atom comics said "They don't need him in the DC landscape, because he's essentially a less interesting version of Firestorm".
the Cisco from the tv series is so obnoxious
God,these explanations are so confusing. It's not your fault.DC comics lust for relevant heroes borders on insanity.
Give me more Maxima 90-s, sexy women's lives matter
Tom king is so useless writer that even dont know about captain atom powers or solomon grundy, all his run trying to ruin characters like catwoman defeating speedsters or batman whistling, worst writer ever...
I thought Aztec was a male
The original one from _JLA_ was a guy, though he died after learning that he was created to . . . tl;dr, his handlers wanted him to be a villain.
He was. Didn't you actually watch the video? It was explained.
I wrote before he came up in the video
@@chrisharknessdcfan Yeah i do that too.
Continuity problems with American Comics is exactly makes Manga leagues better than Comics, I’m sorry.
It's the switching of writers. Same with TV
Yeah, like Manga isnt batshit crazy.
