      'Prey' is feminist bullshit, Predator 2 is a true Predator sequel (and Predators 2010) , Prey is a cringe feminist, woke excrement!

    Thanks for giving Deep Rising some love! I adore it! It's so grotesque, so funny, so crazy! It could easily have been a Bruce Campbell vehicle, but Treat Williams works fine! Also, I don't know that I ever laughed so hard at a single line in a movie as I did at Joey's "Can you just GET asthma?" Such a fun flick!

    "Orca". That is a movie I haven't thought about in decades! My older sister loved it, so of course we watched it quite a few times when I was a wee little kid. The pup falling out of the mother whale is seared into my brain. As is the leg scene near the end. But it was the dread of being out in the ocean in the dead of night that always stuck with me

    As someone who loves cockroaches (all insects) and creature flicks, I knew I was gonna love Mimic. Throw in that, as a Mexican-American, I get excited about uniquely Mexican Horror films. Thank Goddess for Guillermo❤️ And Night of the Creeps is a great movie. WTF was wrong with people in 1986? As someone who was an avid Horror fan in 86, and missed it until like 2005, I blame myself.

    • @SupremeGreatGrandmaster
      @SupremeGreatGrandmaster 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Night of the Creeps did not get a major release. No promotion. In 1986, I would have been well aware of any sci-fi, horror, or monster movie in theaters and I never heard of it until the mid-90s when I saw it in a video store.

    I've lost count on how times I've watched The Relic, you're right in that the monster is often hidden, but I kind of like that. I have seen most of the others, apart from from razorback, I was immediately impressed by the camera work from what you've shown, and it already reminds me of The Relic, so I'll be watching that for sure, I knew I could count on you for Halloween movies this month, thanks for making another great video.

    Tom Atkins stole the show. The scene where he goes insane and starts shooting while spinning is comedy gold. Deep Rising is super underrated. Fun characters, memorable lines, great score by Jerry Goldsmith. Come on, you have Kano, Sagat & Jean Grey together.
    Alligator is great as well. Avoid the sequel. Not worth your time.

      Deep rising suffered from being from the transition period between practical effects and CGI when CGI still looked terrible. Rob Bottin did the practical effects though and he's a legend for his work on John Carpenter's the Thing.

    Alligator is my oldest memory of catching something on tv as a child I probably shouldn’t have. I remember watching TV on my Grandma’s patio when I was about 5, and I turned to a channel to see a police officer hauled out of his car and drug down the street by a massive gator. It didn’t really scare me but I quickly changed the channel cuz I didn’t want to get yelled at for watching a scary movie, but the image has always stuck with me

    100% track down Razorback. It is bizarre, trippy, violent and pretty horrifying on both the human and monster side of things. Its a real hidden gem

    Great job, many faves like Deep Rising, Razorback, Relic, Demon Knight and The Deadly Spawn (which only cost $25,000!!!) Some faves not included are Monster That Challenged the World, Creature Walks Among Us, The Pit, The Gate, Split Second and Millennium Bug.

  • @billyrattlesticks6949
    @billyrattlesticks6949 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Great to see The deadly Spawn getting some love, that film is awesome, it has no right being as creepy and at times horrifying as it is on the budget is was made for. The monster effects are fantastic for a film this cheap, it just shows how much effort and hard work went into it, yeah it's let down by some of the acting and camera work but it's more entertaining than a lot of the guff spewed out as horror these days :)
    Also, Kudos for mentioning Demon night, the relic, Deep rising, Dog soldiers and Razorback, under rated gems, them all :)

    Q, Alligator, Night of the Creeps, Dog Soldiers, Werewolf of London, and Demon Knight will always be my favorites out of the rest. But there's one more unmentioned here: Piranha. The debut movie of Joe Dante before he made The Howling and Gremlins in the 80s; Dante and Raimi had careers ahead of them with indie films from the late 70s. Recent examples of a great monster movie definitely goes to The Ritual, it even had the best monster reveal we haven't seen in years! Second, It Follows. As a Michigander, an STD monster who wouldn't be seen by others but yourself, continuing to stalk you until you're dead will always be terrifying.
    Monster movies delving into other genres have also traumatized me as a kid next to closing vanity plates, internet creepypastas, ARGs, or theories based on video games and cartoons and nightmarish imagery in something innocent, so it's best anyone should laugh at me for being a pussy on what I've listed below the previous statement.

    Great list! I don't believe I've ever heard of The Deadly Spawn, but I will look for it.
    As to others I've not seen, Werewolf of London continues to elude me, and I've just never sat down to actually watch GORGO.
    Q is a classic.
    Alligator and Razorback are solid entries for what they are.
    Night of the Creeps is great fun, and you can definitely see its influence on Slither and similar movies.
    I actually participated in the Kickstarter for The Void - and very glad I did. The atmosphere and tone were exceptional, and I'll always appreciate quality practical effects.
    Dog Soldiers is fantastic and one of my favorite werewolf flix of all time - though, I'd say it's probably too well known for this list.
    Demon Knight, The Relic, Mimic, and Deep Rising are almost foundational for me.
    I'm still hunting for an affordable and good copy of Demon Knight for my collection, as I somehow missed it back in the day. Still, I love Billy Zane's character and antics so much, Sadler's "oh-so-tired" hero/mentor, and even JP-S' budding hero. Very fun cast of individuals that you get hooked into and really fear their demises or appreciate their dooms. Possibly THE most underappreciated movie in this list, it was overshadowed by the fact that Dumb and Dumber and Legends of the Fall were still in theaters.
    The Relic was an interesting premise for a monster, and Sizemore a fun character. Little did I know at the time it was based on a book - a good one that was part of a great series. The adaptation wasn't very accurate, but the movie was entertaining. I tend to watch it whenever I come across it, and probably at least once a year.
    Mimic is really cool, and there are worthwhile aspects to each of the sequels. The original is another one I can't resist watching if I come across it.
    Finally, Deep Rising is my absolute favorite of these. I watch it at least once a month. It's just fun and I REALLY wanted a sequel to find out the answer to Finnegan's final "Now what?"

      I really like Pumpkinhead! I didn’t put it on here because I think it could make for a good video on its own.

    10:08 nice use of music, though I'm surprised it doesn't get flagged.

    Great picks in this one. Did you come up with these all by yourself or do you have some kind of collective of handsome men who you bounce ideas off?

    HaHaHa, I've seen everyone of these movies. So obviously I thin it's a great list. Not a huge fan of Dog Soldiers but it belongs on a list like this. I suggest to everybody check out any of these titles you may have missed.

    Lots of great movies on this list. Couple of stinkers too. But mostly they’re great, fun films.
