Hi Mikey, good to see you are recovering and back in action ! Strange that Pubs are closed and that many shop stalls are shuttered. This might be the reality of a weak economy and thus very few tourists and locals don't want to spend any money ? Anyway, thanks for showing the ancient / traditional architecture and streets !

Some of those touristy blocks are not getting customer. Rich class are still rich maybe ordinary ppl are counting their money carefully nowadays.

Hi Mikey. Good to see you back & looking healthy.
That was a nice quiet place, to explore. I like the harness that you were wearing, to carry your video equipment.

What a beautiful Jiaxing! I love the local architectural style of the buildings and they are very well maintained. But I am surprised the see the lack of tourists and most of the shops were closed. It doesn't give credence to such a lovely place! Perhaps the local authority should work on promoting the city to the outside world. Thank you for sharing.

Good to see you back Mikey!! This place seems to have a sort of layout from an older time. It also seems like the old-time Catholic churches are more like museums now (if you can usually even get in..! ). That wood-covered walkway seemed like a garden structure that a wealthy person or a noble would have had in the olden times, in order to be outside and enjoy nature, while still being protected from the sun and the elements. And alleyways; a Mikey specialty!! He could end up in a courtyard, in the middle of some family's big celebration; you never know!! Good to see you back doing what you do, once again, Mikey !!!

Who is living in the ancient towns (I assume it is not just touristy). Would rich Chinese buy such houses, renovate (modern inside, traditional outside), and live there?

I dont think people will go there to invest nowadays, only locals who born over there
