    Very interesting Mikey; your ancestral origins. It seems from history that Ningbo was much more of a major center than was Shanghai, but then many Ningbo people later moved over to Shanghai, like your family and ancestors. Was this because the original little fishing village of Shanghai was growing and becoming a major center of trade and import/export, and so then maybe there were more opportunities available in the growing and emerging Shanghai city region? And where are Vera's ancestors from, are they from Ningbo too, or are they from elsewhere? Yes, I think that Ningbo had a much bigger role in Chinese history, while Shanghai did not have much of a role at all, until maybe only about a couple hundred years ago - but then it became a world city, like Tokyo, New York, London, or Paris.

      Ningbo merchants had money(silver in the old time),lol till nowadays, Ningbo is still a rich place in China. Veras' were from Yangzhou, Jiangsu.
